Chapter 3: Chapter 3 - Now or Never

"Sir, you called for me." Su Min asked while standing at the entrance of Li Wei's office.

"Come in." Li Wei said from inside the office.

"Okay Sir," Su Min stepped in.

"Sit down." Li Wei said pointing at the chair.

"Okay sir." Su Min took a seat in front of Li Wei.

Li Wei was feeling completely scared, Since he was new to this love thing, he didn't how to face her, so he feigned reading a document.

Li Wei has never been this scared before, not even when he had to join the military at a very young age. However, looking at the woman who always make his heart skip a beat every time, he didn't know why he was afraid. Maybe the fact that she might reject him was more terrifying than any scary things he had ever encountered in all his life.

Mustering some courage he said, "I would like you to go out with me?"

"Sir?" Su Min said Looking at Li Wei

"I mean, I want you to have lunch with me, If you don't mind."

"Okay Sir," Su Min replied again.

Feeling happy that she agreed to go with him Li Wei immediately asked with enthusiasm "Shall we go now?

"Okay sir." Su Min said with a nod.

"Why does she keep repeating Okay sir, like a robot? Li Wei thought as he got up from his chair. "Let's go."

*The Arena.....*

One of the chains of restaurant owned by the Chen Corporation, popularly known around the world to be one of the best restaurants in Country C.

Li Wei took Su Min into the restaurant and he was immediately greeted by the manager. They were immediately taken into his Private booth in the restaurant.

Inside the private booth, Chen Li Wei did not know how he could start a conversation with Su Min so he decided to remain quiet.

The silence was and the silence seemed unbearable So Li Wei decided it's best if they had lunch first. He rang the bell under the table and a waiter appeared, they placed their order and the deafening silence continued. "Is it going to be like this? Li Wei asked himself. "No..no I have to talk to her today before I lose her, he decided.

"It's Now or Never!" Li Wei encouraged himself inwardly.

He gathered his courage and broke the silence, "Miss Yan, forgive me for prying but may I ask you a question?

"Of course sir, feel free to ask." Su Min said with a smile.

"Does Miss Yan have to boyfriend?

Su Min choked on her saliva at Liwei's sudden question. Li Wei moved closer to gently pat her back but Su Min shifts away to avoid his touch. "I'm fine.. it's just... that question...I wasn't expecting it." Su Min explained.

Scratching his nape awkwardly Li Wei asked "Why? Why is that? Is the question too tough to answer?"

"No.... actually," Su Min paused, she look up to meet his gaze and explain, "It feels really awkward talking about my private life with my boss."

"Oh," Liwei said, before adding, "But what if i want to become a part of your life? He said with his fingers crossed. I really wish I could become a part of that Private life." Finally he decided to spill the beans and tell her what he had kept in his heart the whole time, Li Wei looked at her and began. "Miss Yan, I actually don't know where to start but I just think I need to tell you how I feel because my heart might burst from anxiety if I do not tell you.

"Huh?" Su Min raised her head. "Tell me what?"

"I am in love with you Miss Yan, I have been in love with you since the day I first set my eyes on you, I truly love you Su Min and I want you to be mine, I want you to be with me forever.

Su Min: "_"

Really amazed and shocked by his confession Su Min didn't know what to say, she just stared blankly at him.

Afraid she might reject him Li Wei quickly added to his words, "Even if you do not feel the same way i do, I won't force you because I am willing to wait till you are ready to accept me.

Su Min was trying her best not to break down in front of her boss, Love was a topic she never liked to discuss since four years ago. The topic had become a taboo to her. She smiled awkwardly as she didn't know what to say to Li Wei so she just chose to ask him a question, the question had been bothering her for a while now. "Sir if I may ask, what exactly do you like about me?

Su Min couldn't help but wonder, what exactly is lovable about her? she is not from a wealthy family, she doesn't have any status, And she isn't really as beautiful as most of the high class ladies. Plus, she barely interacts with anyone and just enjoy being a loner. so, why would anyone fall him love with her? "First it was him, and now it is her boss."

Smiling lovingly at her question, Li Wei replied, "I love everything about you, Miss Yan. I love your seriousness, your matured mind, your wits, and the way you always remain calm even when facing a difficult situation. I love it all. I love everything about you. I just love you Su Min." Liwei confessed. he took and her hand and kissed it. "Believe me Su Min I didn't plan it, I didn't wish for it to happen, it just happened. I haven't felt this way for anyone before. So, please just give me a chance to love you."

Su Min sighed in confusion. she didn't know what to say and her heart felt really heavy.

"I have decided to move on but why do I still think about him?" She thought. "Why do I still wait for him even though i know he is already engaged? I know I have to take a step towards forgetting him. I know I can't keep waiting for him, I know I can't keep fighting a lost battle. but what do I do?" I can't seem to let go."

"He is long gone! her heart chided. The boy who loved you unconditionally, the guy who would do anything to bring a smile to your face, the guy who would wait in the rain just to catch a glimpse of you.... that boy is long gone! "The Gu Jun Pyo you saw that day was a different one, In fact he's moved on from you since a very long time and is living well. So why do you still keep wallowing in self pity and forfeiting the chance to live a new life?

"No I won't! Su Min declared to herself. "I won't continue to live pitifully, She decided inwardly. "However, Should I take this step and see where the road leads?" She asks herself. "But what if it ends in the same way?" What do I do if he also abandons me?

Lost in thoughts, Su Min had forgotten that someone was expecting a reply from her.

"Su Min...Su Min please talk to me..." Li Wei shook her slightly. When she raised her head to look at him he said, "What do you say? Are you going to give me a chance?" Li Wei was holding his breath, he was badly hoping for a positive response from her that even he didn't realise that he was holding his breath.
