Chapter 42: Rescuing Kirei and Kang Lei
Feng Hei Lang surrounded herself with a shadow as Cha Li started stabbing her sword through the gap of the cage. She gritted her teeth and formed some shadow swords.
The assassin dodged them all as they flew towards her. Xing opened his mouth, letting out a roar. He used [Abyss Gate] and pulled the assassin away from them.
Feng Hei Lang tried to break the cage, but it wouldn't break apart. 'God damn it! I can't get out of this cage! I can't fight her properly like this!' She looked down onto the ground to see the rune which the array was activated from.
She quickly used [Appraisal] on the ground.
[Demon Imprisonment Array]

[Would you like to save array to archive? Yes/No]
Feng Hei Lang paused at the last sentence. 'Save to archive? Is it similar to like a collection thing?' She quickly clicked "Yes" while the assassin was still recovering from Xing's attack.
Instantly, the format of the rune formed in her brain and analyzed it, inside out. She clenched her fist in excitement. 'Yes, I got this cheat system! I can break this array by hitting its weak point over and over again!'
She faced towards the ground and created multiple shadow swords. As she shot them all at the same place, the array cracked a bit.
At that moment, Cha Li stood up again and ran towards them. "You're not breaking the array!" She threw hidden needles from her sleeve, but this time Feng Hei Lang was prepared. "You can't use the same trick twice!"
She ducked under half of them then used [Slowdown] to dodge the rest while moving Xing out of the way. After that, the array broke under the force of the shadow swords. The cage around them crumbled to dust.
Feng Hei Lang pulled out her two daggers and leapt at the assassin. She dodged a blow and then cast [Flying Daggers]. The daggers spiraled towards the assassin, chasing her down like honing missiles.
Feng Hei Lang grinned. 'Looks like all my hard work into controlling this skill paid off!' She made cuts on the assassin's cheeks before finally jumping into close combat. She pulled back her two daggers from the air and started slicing towards Cha Li.
Cha Li tried her best to defend, but she lost a lot of blood from the array and also got damaged a few times. Xing activated [Shadow Claw] and started supporting Feng Hei Lang from the back.
Then, with a single stab, Feng Hei Lang pierced the assassin's heart. Cha Li gasped and slumped to the floor, dying. The assassin wearily looked up at her. "You'll...never be safe...people...after you..." With that, her eyes turned lifeless and cold.
Feng Hei Lang flicked the blood of her daggers and sheathed them. 'It was my first time killing someone...but I don't feel anything...' She looked down at her blood-covered hands. 'Nono...I can deal with that later. I have to save Kirei and Kang Lei first!'

Feng Hei Lang ignored the notifications and ran towards the wooden door. She tried to wedge it open, but it didn't budge. She slammed her body against it, but it still didn't move.
Xing used [Shadow Claw] against it by nothing happened. 'Mommy, I think this is an anti-magic door.'
She knocked on it a few times, and a hollow sound echoed. Feng Hei Lang frowned. "Then, how do I open it?" She unsheathed her daggers and then tried to slice the door down. There was only the tiniest scratch. "This will take forever!"
However, she didn't have a better idea, so Feng Hei Lang tried to slice through the door little, by little. Around three hours passed before she finally made a small hole. She peeked through it and saw darkness. "Argh! I'm starving! But this damn door won't break!"
Xing was helping back shifting back into his dragon form and using his claws. 'We'll get there eventually, Mommy! Mommy's friends are waiting for you!'
Feng Hei Lang finally made a hole big enough to crawl through after a long time. It was already dark outside, and she was extremely hungry. Her stomach growled as she stood up. "Argh! Finally! Kirei and Kang Lei, I'm coming!"
She went through the hole in the door to see blackness covering her vision. Feng Hei Lang's [Night Vision] quickly adjusted her sight.
Inside, it seemed to be a warehouse with boxes everywhere. Feng Hei Lang pushed past some and asked Xing, "Do you smell Kirei or Kang Lei anywhere?"
He nodded. 'They're scent is everywhere, Mommy. I can't tell where they are.'
Feng Hei Lang climbed on top of some boxes and looked past the aisles of more boxes. She spotted something at the top of one of the stacks. "I see something, Xing. I'm going to go check it out."
'Be careful, Mommy!'
Both of them headed towards the stack of boxes and climbed up to the top. There, Kang Lei was sitting, unconscious and tied up. He was also gagged so no sounds could be made. It seemed as if he was sleeping.
She untied him and shook him. "Hey, Kang Lei! Wake up!" There was no response from him. Feng Hei Lang sighed. "Xing, watch over Kang Lei, I'll go and find Kirei."
As she started walking along the aisles once more, the sound of something dropping could be heard.
