Chapter 11: DAY OUT
PRESENT
After getting permission from Mrs.Sung, Shea decided to walk around the market to get familiar with the surroundings. Two things that tangled her mind was Tan and Brian. She had a lot of confusions but those werent important at the present time. Shea, wore a face mask to cover her nose as much as possible because she doesnt want to kill anymore animal. Sung have been providing her blood by mixing it in small potion in the food. Shea was getting better day by day but somehow her thirst for human blood didnt die away easily.
"Whats that?" Shea stopped hearing loud cheers coming from a stadium.
Shea knew a lot of languages as she had been travelling a lot and vampires do have the sharpest memory. The flex board pinned on the top of the gate was written in Hangul and English which she could read easily. The contents of the board killed her mood quickly and she walked away.
'NATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP'
Why?
Shea lost intrest in that game five years back, the day she lost her Tan. She couldnt stand the game after that as she missed him more and more. She always wanted to search for him in these stadiums but it was impossible because of the crowd. How pathetic. Shea met some children who were selling flowers at the side of the sea and went to them.
"Hey?" She went down on knees before them taking off the mask with a wide smile.
"Hey, unnie." A little girl around the age of ten spoke back.
"Can I have this bouqet?" Shea asked pointing at the most beautiful lavender bouqet.
"Unnie... I am sorry, that is for our oppa. He comes to buy this every tuesday." The girl's smile dropped in an instant.
"Its okay sweetie, from next week... can you prepare one for unnie too?" Shea asked with her puppy eyes.
The lavenders were her favourite flowers and Tan used to gift her those bouqets occansionally for no reason. Its been some time, she got to see the similar kind of bouqet and the nostalgia hit her like a hurricane.
Shea got back to senses hearing a huge wave of applause and cheers coming her way. She got up on her legs and looks behind to see a man walking to the shop while a lot of people gathered around. He was surrounded by gaurds on all sides who were all looking big and scary to her. She hurriedly kept the mask back on her face.
The man walked past her to the shop and the cheers faded soon. She couldnt see his face as he have covered it completely with mask and shades and cap leaving no gap. His black puffy jacket and baggy pants didnt leave a clue but his gucci shoes made her frown. Gucci is something Tan was addicted to.
The man sat down on knees before the little girl and removed his glass. Shea tried to peek but the gaurds held her back which she didnt approve much. Their huge size was blocking her view completely and she wished that she had the power to pass electric shock just like her brother. All she could do was read minds and that too not everyone's.
The little girl handed over the lavender bouqet to the man and he ruffled her hair as a return gift. He got up wearing the glasses and turned back to wave at the people who were gathered. The cheers once again got hyped up and this time Shea could hear the name which was dominating the loud shouts.
Qihe.
"Who is he?" Shea muttered to a girl who was among the crowd.
"What?" The girl looked surprised at the sudden statement from Shea.
"Umm.. who is he?" Shea asked once again thinking that she wasnt audible enough for the other girl.
"That is Qihe and please let me enjoy his presence." The girl scoffed while jumping up and down to catch his attention.
"What is it all about?" Shea thought to herself seeing the whole crowd moving along with the 'Qihe' guy.
Shea walked back to the flower shop and decided to ask the little girl about the man who took her favourite lavender bouqet. The whole crowd nearly made it impossible for her to check on the guy properly.
"Hey, whats your name sweetie?" Shea asked sitting down next to the girl.
"Suzy." The little girl flashed a big smile while her eyes automatically closed to a thin line showing off her perfect dimples.
"Who was that man?"
"Oppa." The girl answered while her eyes sparkled.
"Who is he? Why were all screaming for him?" Shea asked raising her left eyebrow up.
"Oppa is a basketball player. He is a captain and he is very famous." Suzy said while looking up as if she is thinking about more information.
The word, basketball striked Shea once again. Her head hurted like it was ready to blast open at the co incidences. Tan loves basketball and gucci too and the same with Qihe but whats more important is that Qihe bought the same flower bouqet. Is that all a co incidence?
"Do you have his picture?" Shea asked out of curiousity.
"No, he doesnt like that. Oppa always come like this and even I havent seen him fully except for his eyes." Suzy smiled while attending the new customer who came by.
Shea waved her hands at Suzy and walked off with more topics to overthink and tackle. She didnt feel like even thinking about Qihe at this point because of Brian. Her priority was finding out Brian and asking him about the dress and Tan. She wanted to find him as soon as she can to get answers to all her questions.
Shea met few more people who were familiar to her but even those could be co incidences. It was her first time in Busan even though she had been living in Korea for five long years. She only visited Daegu apart from Seoul where she was studying. Its been around two hundred years since she have been living in this planet but it didnt have any positive impact on her.
Murmering to herself about Brian and the Qihe guy she encountered, Shea pushed open the bakery door making Mrs.Sung flinch. Before she could say a word, Shea walked in throwing away the mask on the ground earning a curse word from the older woman.
