Chapter 2: 2
it's been two days since Markus was discharged from the hospital. he was given a 3 day rest to recover. in the past two days, Markus has done a lot of reflection on his path ahead. he knew what was holding him down in his previous life, a lousy foundation and lack of correct early guidance. although Markus wouldn't admit it he knew he was not that talented and even if he was talented Markus knew he needed money and connections in the right places to make a successful carrier in football. although he knew a few further trends of the financial world Markus lacked the capital and necessary knowledge to take advantage of it.
the next variable in front of Markus was the system which showed up out of nowhere and he won't be able to do anything about now as the system count down timer was still on so Markus decided to throw that to the back of his mind. And the biggest worry was his wife, she has been with him thick and thin even when Markus himself given up on everything it was Liliya who gave the push he needed and supported him throughout the tough times. Markus knew she deserved better than him and now he has gone back in time Markus was feeling conflicted about their relationship and was wondering if he should still try to approach her or not.
then he heard a knock on the door "come on in" Markus replied, his mother came in through the door and sat down next to him and asked " baby what are you thinking so hard with a frown on your cute face " corner of his lips twitched, he was still trying to get used to this part. how could he still not get embarrassed when he's a 38-year-old grown-ass man. "it's nothing " Markus said, then she just silently looked at him with a small smile on her face. after a minute she was still looking at him with the same smile. " so..... I had this dream" Markus said which caused her smile to bloom wide " and in that, I had a friend who was very close to me we went through some pain and happiness we even had some accidents then suddenly I was before we even met and I was thinking should I still befriend him again ".
" wow do kids have such mature dreams" Martha muttered under her breath, then she looked at Markus and asked, "is it a girl ?" "what ?" Markus asked dumbly " Oh my, so it's your little crush huh," she said in a teasing tone. " ma, I'm serious ", in return he got even more teasing, and after she had her fill Martha replied seriously " well do you still want her to your friend " " yes I still want HIM to be my friend, but I don't know if I should " "it's not your choice mark, it's she who decided if she wants to date you or not " "I told you it's not a girl ma " Markus protested "your still way too young to hide something from me, Mark. I had you inside me for 9 months and have raised you ever since " Martha said as she stood up " come down and have dinner in a minute, your da was cooking for whole two hours".
although Martha said it as a joke Markus got his answer he needed. "k" Markus replied. let's worry about that when that time comes Markus thought as he made his way downstairs . after having a satisfying dinner he sat with his family and just chit-chatted with them. when it was around 11 pm he was forced to bed and Martha even personally tucked him in.
after the three-day rest, he attended the local middle school near his neighborhood . he was like a ghost with almost no presence in his class what could he even do with this bunch of kids anyway. he just transferred in recently about 2 months ago and he didn't have any close friends here. after every day he just went home and did his homework and did just above average on his study so he didn't stand out to his teachers either. after he got back from school he just turned on tv like he usually does when he heard his mother asking "what day is it today mark ?" "Friday" " and date ?" "12th June " "thanks baby" Martha rushed to his side and gave him a kiss on the cheeks and said, " ma's going to work now, watch the house, ok ?" "bye, have a good day " mark waved his hands, [ maybe I should talk to them tomorrow about the academy ] Markus thought as he continues watching tv.
" soo... I have something to take to you guys about" Markus said after dinner, William who was getting up sat down again and said, " go on". " I want to play football," Markus said" sure you can play in the school team if you want, we won't object to something like that," Martha said as she sat down next to William . "not the school team level football, I want to play pro football". "did someone scout you ?, but you never played football in a level where scouts would notice tho .." Willam asked in puzzlement. "no, I want to go to a football academy and try to go pro from there". " but we don't have an academy like that in our neighborhood and even in our district mark," Martha said. "I want to try for a Scottish academy," Markus said. " no," Martha said, " why not ?" Markus asked back. " I'm not sending my son anywhere outside of my eyesight, besides you're only 12" Martha started to raise her voice. " why the sudden thought mark?, and I don't think they will just take you in just cus you want in" William said as he calmed down his wife . " they have recruitment camps and if you get selected you'll be able to get into the academy" Markus explained, " and we have one in 4 months near us ". William nodded. " are you serious will? you're gonna let him go?" Martha asked in a loud voice, " if he gets selected then why not ?" William calmly replayed to Martha then he turned to Markus and said " why don't you go to your room, mom and dad have to discuss this bit.
Markus went to his room trying to look dejected and pitiful to pressure his mothr but he knew it was done 90 % and he would be able to attend the trails.
