Chapter 5: I'm Younger?
After further inspection of this place and not finding any other useful things, the youth decided to go out and continue walking the corridor.
However, just before he leaving this room, he noticed another door that resembled so much a wall that at first, he didn't pay any attention to it.
It turned out to lead to the bathroom.
The young man an unfamiliar with the current technology recognized only a few elements in this room, but none of them seemed to him to be that, what would help him wash away the accumulated dirt and the desert sand ubiquitous on his body.
Sighing quietly, Mivio headed for the mirror covered with mud.
Being able to not much see through them with a faint look of disgust that showed on his eternally indifferent and frozen face, he grabbed a piece of fabric, which was located next to him, and which that looked like a worn towel, then he tried to wipe the mirror with it.
Despite the fact, that it didn't do much, it did help a bit, and after a while, the mirror pane began to break through from under the dirt, which was indistinctly showed the reflection of the youth's face.
What this young man saw in the mirror was for him both what he expected and what was unexpected for him.
Although the face he was looking at belonged to him in each even the smallest detail, that it didn't correspond to his age in which he is located.
When he died unexpectedly, he was only twenty-six years old, but the years he devoted to building his small empire to provide him with money, peace, and a dream home by the sea took their toll on his appearance.
His previously milky jade skin through which the delicate blue veins pierced lost its glow, becoming morbidly pale, and his eyes, under which there were shadows forever, had long ceased to shine, becoming not only cold and indifferent but also eternally tired.
And although all these years, he has cared for his long hair, it is due to the general finish that got his whole body and mind, from his shiny and silky hair, which were to the touch like fluff or delicate fur, it has become dull and coarse.
But now, all these changes seemed to be undone, and he looked as if he had returned to his teenage days when he was not yet eighteen.
The youth stared at his reflection in the mirror for a while, bewildered, trying to calmly arrange everything in his head.
For a brief moment, he closed his beautiful eyes, and then he opened them, regaining his previously lost peace.
His watery eyes, in which one had the impression that for a moment there was a gentle storm caused by this situation, again became transparent like water in a lake, the surface of which was disturbed by someone, and then returned to its permanently unshakable surface.
When this ethereal youth saw his present appearance in the mirror, which didn't match the one he had at the time of his death, he realized that not only had he come to this world unknown to him but that his body had become strangely rejuvenated.
And for him, this fact meant only one thing, namely that what he assumed earlier could be wrong.
Before he discovered that he became young again, he was pretty sure that in this world where Sentinels and Guides also existed, he was just an ordinary man, but now he knew and understood that this could be a false assumption.
And although he still didn't understand too much in this world, it is according to this strange knowledge that came to him in a dream, it seemed that only after his eighteenth birthday that he would really be able to tell who he was. Whether an ordinary person or a Guide.
And why he didn't consider being a Sentinel?
For one simple reason.
Because, like every inhabitant of this interstellar world, he also knew that the Sentinel soul awakened in the early adolescent years, and the earlier it made itself known, that the more powerful the Sentinel was, but in the case of the Guide, the awakening took place only after reaching the age of majority, on his eighteenth birthday.
Then, if there was appeared a spiritual incarnation, also known as a spiritual beast, which for each was an individual animal being, corresponding to the character and personality of a given person, it was known that this person is the Guide.
According to this knowledge, Mivio realized that he was definitely not a Sentinel, and the only one in the world, what he could turn out to be, it is either an ordinary human or a Guide.
Ordinary people could not perceive spiritual incarnations. Only Sentinels and Guides could see them.
Of course, not counting these rare cases in which it was the Guide or Sentinel who chose to manifest his spiritual embodiment to everyone. Which, of course, was only possible for those who had a high level of psychic power.
Mivio wasn't sure when he would find out what fate will befall him because he couldn't tell when his birthday would be because he didn't know the present time.
He had no idea what the current date or year was, or whether any of these things could correspond to the Earth dates, which were the only ones he knew.
His birthday was June twenty-eighth, and though he didn't know it now, it was June eighteenth.
Luckily for this young man, he still has time to get to know the world around him before he has to face successive things, that was for him, new and strange.
Taking a deep breath and returning to his indifferent way of being, the youth decided to take everything that this world gives him slowly and successively, currently focusing only on the present moment and worrying about other things when the time comes for them.
