"C'mon cheer up Anna, we both know that your specialty is stealth and strategies. You were out of your element against all that fire power and you still did amazing." Ive been trying for hours to cheer up my long time friend. I mean yea a lot of that time i spent as a tree but that doesnt matter.
"Thanks Thally but i know if those girls weren't causing such Mayhem with their spells then i wouldn't have been in the top 3 anyways. When i see things like that it makes me wonder." - Annabeth
"Wonder what?" - I hear Clarisse ask
"Why are we so smug? Sure our parents are gods but even then we cant access their divinity and even our best magic we know wouldnt stand next to the rest."
"These guys are in a league of their own but that doesnt mean we fall far behind. Clarisse gets stronger the longer she fights, Percy can control all forms of water, Thalia can summon lightning, Your brain is moving at least 150% faster when youre in battle making you a perfect warrior, and i can summon skeletons. We're not that weak, we just needed a more open and safe environment from monsters to grow." - Nico
"Annabeth watch my game tonight. No matter what I'll win and show you that us Demigods earned our right to be here too." I get up and walk away heading to that Arena. I dont care what the challenge is i shall triumph.
- A half hour later -
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WELCOME TO OUR DAY 1 EVENING EVENT.
LETS GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO THE TEAMS THAT CHOSE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENING EVENTS.
TEAM NOBLES, TEAM WIZARDY, TEAM YOKAI, TEAM DEMIGOD AND FINALLY TEAM SITRI!!!!
NOW LETS MEET OUR CHAMPIONS FOR TONIGHTS GAMES, RAEL, TONKS JUST TONKS, TOKOYAMI, THALIA, AND INGVILD!!"
The five of us all step up. Since only 5 of the teams are participating in this then my odds are even better.
"THE EVENT TONIGHT IS SIMPLE. ITS CALLED THE LOST LAMB. OUR CHAMPIONS WILL BE SENT TO AN ISLAND SOMEWHERE SOUTH OF FLORIDA THAT WAS INFESTED WITH ACROMANTULA. WE HID A LAMB TOTEM SOMEWHERE AND THE FIRST ONE TO TOUCH IT WINS."
Whats an acromantula? I look at my fellow contestants and Tonks has a funny reaction where her hair and skin turns pale white. It seems as if at least one person knows what these creatures are.
"GOOD LUCK!"
And with those words we're all teleported into a dark forest standing next to each other. Tokoyami and Rael just shoot off and Ingvild is right after them. I take a second to ask Tonks
"Hey Tonks what are acromantulas?"
She flinches at their name and says something barely audible. What did she say? I ask her to repeat herself but before she speaks a web comes flying out of the forest and grabs her leg pulling her in.
"TONKS" I take a defensive stance with my Aegis Shield and custom made spear. I hear something moving around me at high speeds hiding beneath the foliage.
As a Hunter of Artemis i fear no beast. So i jab the butt of my spear into the ground sending lightning arcs along the ground. The minute it reached the foliage I heard a "SKREEEEEEAK CLICK CLICK CLICK " sound. I know this sound, its the same sound Arachne made to summon her minions. Knowing i was about to be surrounded by 8 legged demons i book it off into the forest so im not standing in such a place with low cover.
My legs are pumped filled with adrenaline running from these Acromantula. I can hear the sound of spiders beside me so i use my Artemis blessing which increases movement when im hunting or being hunted by beasts.
I ran so far and so fast the trees blurred around me and i had a moment to breathe not being chased when i ran into someone. "Ingvild?" I saw her make eye contact with me before she screamed
"BEHIND YOU" my instincts went into overdrive as i roll backwards landing in a kneel before slamming my spear straight into the underbelly of the 10 ft tarantula.
A stream of water comes and bisects another one and i look over at Ingvild who has two glowing magical circles on her palms. "Thanks" i choke out.
"Dont thank me yet, your friends brought dance partners." she looks at me and asks "Is that spear just for show?" I look back and smirk and let my lightning run through the spear.
The two of us go crazy splitting, sparking, and skewering spiders silently. I can feel it in her movements she was trained hard and even trained in combat with people she hasnt met because we meld seamlessly into each other's movements. Wherever i threw lighting there was a water dragon there to soak every arachnid before hand. Wherever her water help spiders in place my spear found itself buried in their skulls. At this point we have yet to find the totem when the ground starts shaking. We look around when we hear the announcer
"IT SEEMS AS IF OUR LAST TWO COMPETITORS HAVE FINALLY MANAGED TO WAKE UP THE QUEEN. SHE'S SUPER ANGRY YOU KILLED ALL HER KIDS NOT TO MENTION HER LAST MEAL HAD TO MUCH LAMB FOR HER LIKING. GOOD LUCK GIRLS!"
I share a look with Ingvild and she grabs my waist before a pair of bat like wings protrude from her back launching us into the air to avoid the gigantic 30 ft Spider queen sleeping underground.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?" Something like that should never exist. I curse whichever god created something like this.
"How much lightning can you produce?" Ingvild asks
" A shit ton but you'll get fried" i honestly tell her. I mean i cant fly, the only child of Zeus that cant fly on their own.
She looks down at the spider then at me and says "Have you ever used a bow before?" Naturally i say duh "Then heres the plan im gonna throw you as high as i can and you charge as much lightning before you come down. Ill have that spider so Soaked she'll rethink her sexuality." I couldnt help but laugh at that and evem harder when she started blushing from her own joke. "Sorry hanging around Aika-san for so long will have anyone tainted." At that she charges her magic and throws me high into the clouds where i start pulling all the lighting in the atmosphere to my spear. I fall past the cloud break towards the island just to see all massive water sperpent entangling the spider. I lock my aim onto the spiders abdomen letting gravity pull me down as lightning discharges from my spear.
"CHIDORI SPEAR!" I yell as i plunge spear first into the acromantula causing its insides to explode and its hull to collapse in on itself. I crawl my way out of the guys finally managing to get my hand free when i feel a small wet hand grab my own.
Ingvild pulls me out of the spider carcass before she smiles and takes out the golden lamb token. I feel dumbfounded for a minute since i forgot the original purpose of this game, but that doesnt last long as she puts my hand around it as well and raises it into the air as the announcer goes
"AND THE WINNERS OF THE SECOND EVENT ARE INGILVD LEVIATHAN AND THALIA GRACEEE!" We get teleported back to the island surrounded by screaming fans and a warm smiling Kyouya Hibari.
"I never would've expected to see two winners but nonetheless for unresounding logical support and decision making Ingvild allow me to bestow upon you this ring. Its called a Rain Ring and i shall tell you its uses more later on."
He then turns to me "Ah Ms. Grace now normally no one wouldve expected two champions but do not worry. I originally wasnt going to give these out but since we are here let me congratulate you to be the first person to receive this magical creature bred and born on the Phoenix Isles." I see a stoic old butler appear next to him holding a white tiger cub. As soon as our eyes meet i feel a pull coming from my soul like we're connected. Huh so this is a familiar that Artemis-sama told me about. After establishing the bond with me the little tiger grew wings and flew right into my arms. Haha i cant wait to rub this in Anna's face later.
