Chapter 37: Destiny Played His Younger Brother Very Well
Long You's expression brightened when he saw Junjie checking him out. Sticking out his broad chest, the dragon sauntered towards his mate as if he was a peacock. His pride swelled more when he saw his mate's eyes following him.
"Junjie, what would you like to drink?" He had seen his father serve his lady for years, and now he was excited to finally get his own chance to care for his lady-um…-husband.
Fang Junjie was still a bit shy, yet he couldn't stop his excitement when he saw this handsome man showing his seriousness for him and their relationship.
"I want blueberry juice."
"Okay, I'll get it for you." And Long You quickly rushed to the drinks section to get back a fresh and cool serving of blueberry juice for his man.
"Thank you, you're so nice." With a smile on his face, Fang Junjie accepted the glass of juice, not forgetting to compliment the older man who was practically dancing inside.
Pink bubbles were in the air.
"LET'S RACE!" Fang Bai excitedly shouted and the atmosphere hyped up.
Everyone left what they were doing and jumped into the pool for the race. With a glass in one hand, Fang Bai quickly ran to the other side of the pool and waved his other hand as if it was a flag.
With a sheepish smile, Junjie handed the half glass of blueberry juice to Long You and ran fast and jumped into the pool gracefully.
Taking advantage of his lithe body, he easily overtook the others and came first. Looking at the little devil Fang Bai (what Long You called Bai Bai), Long You shook his head helplessly. But he couldn't do anything as he himself felt guilty for taking away the pillar of support from the young guy.
"...And the winner is… Ge-Ge! HAhaha All others are losers. Boo~" Fang Bai playfully laughed around the place where Fang Junjie touched the wall, and in the latter's helpless eyes, he pretended to kick Tang Rong who arrived next, and made him dunk his head into the water to protect himself.
"You brat!" Duan Wei lightly chided him and made a grabbing action towards his legs so that he could jump away, which happened as expected. He then made space for Li Jin to hold the wall of the pool and also for Tang Rong to swim back to the surface again.
Han Bo and Rong Qing came last. Rong Qing got out and took a ball from the basket near the pool and soon, a pool play game began. Fang Bai once again took a seat on the chair nearby them. While passing the ball around, they all talked on common topics.
Rong Qing cleverly picked up a good timing to convince Fang Junjie for the road trip. As she excitedly told him about the plans, others also added one or two points of support for the trip. Even Li Jin added one or two points in between.
"C'mon Junjie, it will definitely be fun." After completing her convincing pitch, Rong Qing waited hopefully for the results. Fang Bai, Tang Rong, Duan Wei and Li Jin also nodded on the side to show support to her.
On the other hand, Long You was starting to get glum. His and Fang Junjie's relationship had just started but they were hardly getting any time to stay together. He did not want to be the villain and stop Fang Junjie from interacting with his family, but he thought that he should at least once remind the latter that they were in a relationship and needed to be responsible to each other.
"I'm sorry Qing Qing, I can't go on the trip." To everyone's surprise, Fang Junjie disagreed. "I know that you want all of us to spend some fun time together, but I have a very important project going on in the company. And I need to support my team for it. Our company has reached where we are because of the unity and hard work of everyone. At this crucial time, I do not want to leave and spread a wrong message. You can even ask Han Bo about how much my presence is required."
He was adamant despite all the persuasion of his brothers.
Han Bo quietly stood on the side and did not deny his claim. While he knew that Junjie's presence was important for the project, he was quite sure that they could make the deadline without him because of their experiences with these projects. But, there must have been a reason for the latter to make an excuse. So, he supported his claims like a dutiful secretary.
"But ge-ge, what will happen if you get in some danger? None of us will be there to protect you." Fang Bai was serious; with the increasing number of attacks on Fang Junjie, he was not going to go anywhere, and leave the latter alone.
"I am not a helpless person, Xiao-Bai. I am strong and you all know that I have the capability to protect myself. And I will not be alone at all. My boyfriend, Long You will be here with me. If you all are more concerned, I can also have him stay in our house. He has enough power to protect me from any harm." In the surprised eyes of all of the others, he extended his hand and took Long You's hand on his own. While casting an assuring look at the other, he continued, "I know that this trip to City V is an important trip to you, and I support you to go there. Xiao-Bai, it is your own happiness, and you have to chase it. Don't leave your happiness for any one of us." Fang Junjie ended the topic for all. It was clear that he would not hear anything anymore.
Hearing his boyfriend's trusting words, Long You's chest swelled up in pride; he was feeling giddy that his mate believed that he could support and protect him. What else could he want in life? Oh, how lucky he was to have such an understanding mate.
Li Jin realized that Long You might be some powerful army officer and didn't convince any more. Army was definitely the safest place one could dream of in the apocalypse. And protection of a superior officer would give Junjie a leisurely life.
Fang Bai reluctantly agreed to his big brother's words. After all, he was a good younger brother. Although he didn't want to say it out loud, he definitely agreed that Long You could protect his big brother well. And his subordinates were also here to look out for danger.
Another thing, he had a desperate urge in his heart to find out about Lei. Since he got a clue today, he could not describe the urgent feeling in his whole body to go there and find Lei.
"So, when should we leave?" Rong Qing spoke in a low voice. While Li Jin was about to open his mouth to say something, Tang Rong spoke up.
"Sunday." …if everyone was alive by then. Today is Thursday, and the asteroid will definitely hit Earth by Saturday. If it didn't. then it meant that the danger had been cleared.
Everyone tacitly agreed.
They consciously dropped the topic and continued playing with random conversations in between. The sun had set and they could eat the dinner feast in one hour.
Looking at the dry and dressed Fang Bai, Duan Wei felt his hands itching to create some mischief. He roamed his eyes on the people around him to get some assistance. Since they had grown up together, how could Junjie and Tang Rong not understand what he wanted to do?
On his signal, Tang Rong quietly got out of the pool. First, he symbolically went to get a drink, then he took a round of the pool and walked near Fang Bai who was looking at his phone while sipping the coconut juice.
But before he reached there, Fang Bai immediately sprang up from his seat.
"Ha! Do you think I will fall for the same trick again?" But he knew that he still didn't have any other option. He himself removed his T-shirt while laughing and others could see his beautiful and smooth body. The dragon tattoo on the middle of his chest looked ethereal and life-like and made him look even more attractive.
While Duan Wei and Tang Rong had assumed that Xiao-Bai was hiding his wounds, they were surprised to see the clean and smooth skin. Surprised, they realized that Fang Bai was not lying when he said that his wounds healed very fast. But that also meant that Fang Bai must have regularly gotten wounded to still get those injuries that day, and it pissed them off.
The oblivious Xiao-xiao-Bai flashed a handsome smile, and while only wearing the pajama pants, he jumped into the pool.
While no-one noticed, Long You's eyes opened so wide as if they would pop out and his mouth was left open as he looked at the young with the tattoo of an incredibly familiar dragon on his chest jump into the pool and swim towards Fang Junjie.
'Oh boy, the mate my younger brother was searching all over the world was always in front of me all the time?'
Destiny played his younger brother very well.
And now he had an incredible idea to get rid of this little devil Bai forever and spend time with his mate in happiness.
