Chapter 51: Stone Untarnished, Stone of Rubble

Sitting among the remains of several stone constructs, sharpening her blade with a gleeful smile, laughed Imogen, satisfied with her doings.

"Who would put a weak point on their heads, all it took was a few stabs; and then they crumbled." Chuckled Imogen while standing up, and kicking a stone chunk off the giant bear.

This prompted Imogen to look around for a while, but she was seemingly unsure of what to do. "And hopefully that means it won't be too hard to take down the giant bear... but I'm not too sure about how I'm going to reach the weak point with my halberd free."

"Maybe its eye sockets are deep enough for me to stand there without trouble... I'm really going to have to start thinking outside the box, aren't I." Suspired Imogen as she began her trek towards the bear's stone, and metal head.

"Hmm, what if I lean down over the bear's-, no; that won't work either." Sighed Imogen while finally reaching the massive bear's head, to get a good look of what she was going up against.

And as Imogen stared down at the floor below, an ingenious idea took place. "What if I jump off the bear's head, and hook onto its weak spot; I'm sure I'm strong enough to finish the job with my fists."

"Yeah, I think I'll do that; the only problem is I doubt my agility is high enough to perform such a feat." Mumbled Imogen while taking a second look at the giant bear's glowing green core.

"System, pull up my stats; I need something to infer from." Commanded Imogen as she watched her status appear in a red, and white text box.

"My skill list is getting long... it really shows my age, even though I'm technically only two." Mused Imogen while deciding the jump onto the core was plausible.

With extreme care, Imogen dropped her legs off the side, and laughed. "Hopefully this won't hurt too much, second thoughts are only for people who care about living; I don't have the will to endure such boredom."

Then with reckless abandon, Imogen dropped off the giant stone bear; and stabbed her halberd deep into the bright green core. This seemed to cause the bear great pain, for as it roared the whole cave shook; causing some lesser stone creatures to shatter completely into dust.

The bear's once slow, and tranquil footsteps turned into a frantic mess of chaos inducing quakes; almost cracking the solid metal floor below. It's head shook violently back, and forth; seemingly trying to remove the growing pain coming from there.

"Well this is blissful, the air is cool; and really quite refreshing." Smiled Imogen as she slammed her left fist repeatedly into the steadily diming green core.

"The only problem is that this is taking quite a while, and I don't plan on smacking my fist into this core for the next five minutes; so it's time to get creative!" Shouted Imogen while forcefully ripping out her halberd, and flying into a wall without anything left to hold onto.

But while Imogen laid in her own indentation, the bear rammed its head into her, causing her halberd to get stuck in its core once again. Causing Imogen to fall out of the rock wall, dropping straight onto a spike trap that had been waiting its whole life for this moment.

As Imogen pushed herself off the spikes, she got a brilliant idea. "I don't need to climb back onto the giant bear, all I have to do is use Vine Dart to shove my halberd in deeper; that's sure to shatter the bear's already fragile core.

And so that's exactly what Imogen did, she ran in front of the bear until she had a good shot; and fired a vine dart right into its core. The shot might have missed the halberd, but it still worked as planned, for when it hit; the bear's core shivered into dust.

An insurmountable yowl was heard as the bear crumbled, prompting Imogen to stare at her handy work. "I don't know why I thought I could hit my halberd from so far away... but it seemed to work anyways."

"What the hell, I just killed a giant fricking stone bear; and I don't get so much as a congratulations!" Snarled Imogen as she walked over to the bear's fragmented remains in search of her gleaming red halberd.

*𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤: I'm just doing my job... I would never tip the scales out of your favor

"Bullcrap, one of these days I'm going to get back at you for this, I don't know how; but I will!" Vowed Imogen while ripping her fallen halberd from the ground, and punching a rock in anger.

~~~
Where am I... ugh; my gut hurts." Groaned Clarence as he lifted his head up.
"Oh shit, you're alive, this isn't good; Augustine's going to be in a rage now!" Panicked a man while suddenly sprinting away from the disoriented Clarence
"What's not good... who's, who's Agustine?" Inquired Clarence as he shook his head a few times in confusion.
"In fact... who am I, and where are you going? Questioned Clarence while standing up, and looking around the creepy library.
Clarence wiped some fecal matter off his shirt before continuing his investigation. "I think my name was Lawrence... or was it Florence, I really can't seem to remember."
"Well... whatever the case may be, the best course of action is to find this Augustine guy; he's sure to have the answers I'm looking for." Guessed Clarence as he went in the direction where screams cried out in agony.
~~~

"Fuck, now the ship's beached; why am I so damn careless!" Fumed The Rebellious One while kicking his ship in anger.

"Now I have to push it back out to sea, if I can, that is; this ship probably weighs about a thousand tons." Muttered The Rebellious One as he jumped off the boat, and onto the silky white sand below.

"I'm sure I'm strong enough, I was the talk of the ladies back home, because of my muscles after all." Flexed The Rebellious One while ramming into the boat, and pushing with all his might.

"Damn, it barely moved an inch; now how am I supposed to get back to sea?" Despaired The Rebellious One as he sat down with his back against the boat.

After a few hours of rest, a man walked up to the resting Rebellious One. "Hey there young sir, it looks like you got yourself in a bit of a pickle there; if you follow me... I could help you."

"Really!" "That would be great, I think if you and I work together; we could push this boat out in no time!" Exclaimed The Rebellious One as he ran up the man with a smile on his face.

The man looked around once, and then once more again before sighing. "Oh no, I'm afraid I'm much to old for that, but if you help us; we could spare some of the youth of the village to help push your raft out."

"Wait, there's a whole village here; this island seems... quite small." Pointed Out The Rebellious One while the man shifted in place a bit, looking somewhat uncomfortable.

"You see we built the village underground to better access the mana stone mines that this village cherishes deeply, and to start setting up trading routes with High Construct." Coughed the man as a sort of half smile formed on his lips.

"Uhh... yeah, I knew that honestly; mining rock on a very far off island is extremely profitable." Stuttered The Rebellious One while hoping the man won't think he's an idiot.

The man's face suddenly turns pale for a moment before suddenly regaining composure. "You're most correct young sir, how... intelligent you must be for your age, with youth like you; I know the world's in good hands."

"Thank you, I try my best... you know; I'm thinking of writing a biography someday." Lied The Rebellious One as he watched the man break out in laughter.

"Ahaha ha ha, get em, ahaha ha; men!" Commanded the man while two other men with clubs ran out of the brush.

"Did I say something funny... Why are you laughing so much?" Asked The Rebellious One as the realization of what's happening dawned upon him.
