Chapter 4: CHAPTER THREE
I know you must wondering if I actually fell off the roof,well I didn't, I guess it wasn't my death day yet. This is when Cole comes into my life and gives it a meaning.
Now back to when I was just about throwing myself off the roof;
...but i felt a hand holding me back, and pulled me from the edge of the roof backwards. Turning back to see who it was, there stood Cole, the most admired guy in medicine Dept and of cause by many others. holding my hand
Cole
Son of a wealthy business man, SIX-inch,gaunt, handsome from the depth of his eyes to the gentle expressions of his voice, He had dark eye brows, which sloped downwards in a serious expression.
His eyes were a mesmerising deep ocean blue, flecks of silvery light performed ballets throughout, grew up in London so of course has got the British accent, spent three years in London for his high school before moving to California for College.
Cole loved the view of the school from the roof top, so he usually went there at leisure times. And surprisingly he was at the other side of the roof top, he saw and heard everything I said.
“and you really think your mom would be happy knowing you're six feet in the ground? she'll only feel disappointed in herself, & blaming herself for not being a good mother?” Cole said to me still holding my hand while I stood there just staring
from his generous opinions to the touch of his hand upon my own. I loved the way his voice quickened when he spoke to me
He had the kind of face that stopped you in your tracks. Despite all the opportunity that came his way he was a guy who wasn't really interested in ladies.
His face was strong and defined, his features molded from granite. His usually playful smile had drawn into a hard line across his face. His perfect lips ripe for the kissing. His strong hands held mine as he stared deep into my eyes.
“Give me ten days” he said & I'll prove to you that life is worth living” just ten days he completed his statement whilst hugging me.
“Ten days!!?" this ten minutes feels like forever I soliloquized wishing the hug lasted forever.
Finally the security personnel gained entrance to the rooftop, the atmosphere was so tensed I didn't even know what was happening anymore. Then I turned and saw Pretty running towards me and hugged me and I busted in tears all over. while the security personnels took me to the clinic.
“what just happened!?” Asked Ciara feeling disappointed and jealous.
“Was that Cole?” A female student rhetorically asked
“Oh come on that video would have boosted my YouTube views!” said one of the guys who had their camera's up
“Cole saved her Natty” Said one of the students to her friend while blushing
“ Weirdo!” One of the guys said while walking away.
In a jiffy everyone standing and watching to witness the scene of a suicide had left With only stories to tell, but this time around, the story was going to have a little twist in it since Cole was in the picture.

“She's going to be fine” said the doctor to Pretty as he stepped out while I sat on the bed with both my legs closed and used my hands to support my chin, wearing a long face,,
the School Clinic was not far from the entrance of the school, it was the first building one could see on entering the school, a three-storey building, it was an imposing edifice".
Where's she? Where's my daughter” asked my mum who was already in tears to one of the nurses at the clinic reception,
“You must be Kylie's mother?” one of the nurses at the reception asked
“Yes I am” Mrs Walter replied hurriedly with a panic tone
“Don't worry ma'am, your daughter is fine, Just take a right turn, she's in the first room by the left” the nurse said using her hand to point out the direction'
“Thank you” Mrs Walter said in a haste and left for the room immediately as she'd been directed.
Raising my head up I saw my Mom standing by the door, with tears slowly rolling down her cheeks, immediately I knew who called her, Pretty of course.
She gently walked in and sat down on the bed very close to me as she hugged me still sobbing, well we both were sobbing this time around, while Pretty stood there watching us also wearing a long face; the atmosphere was tense.
“Look at me', mommy loves you so much Okay,” wearing a very bright smile my mum said to me lifting my head up
“let's go home.” she said.
"How could you!, did you even think of me, or your dad, of how we would have felt!?,” yelled my mum to me in the living room with tears all over face, minutes after Pretty had left for her home
“Oh Mom don't even mention dad, he wouldn't care if I stumbled right now and died on the spot” I said interrupting her statement immediately she mentioned my dad.
My mom stood numb few seconds after my statement to her and busted into tears staggering & trying to sit down on the sofa; I geared it up with what I had just said'
“I'm sorry mum, I didn't mean to” I said to my mum feeling sorry for what I had done,or attempted to do rather & the statement I had just made.
“I love you mom” I whispered into my moms ears while hugging her.
Day 1
°Two days after the incident°
“Oh my! Here she comes!” one of ladies said to her group of friends.
“Cole saved her if not she'd be dead by
now” gossiped one of the guys standing to his friends,
everyone's attention and gaze was fixed at me.
These and many other things were being said as I walked through the hallway with my head to the ground feeling embarrassed after the previous' day incident.,
I was now the talk of our whole dept. & in school, the incident gained me more popularity., For good this time around.
‘Yes my life had a turnaround’.
“Is he walking towards me?”
“It couldn't be me, am too low class for him to speak with, with people standing around”
“Whatever he said yesterday, he wouldn't have meant them,or did he?”
“He's walking up to me”
‘He's getting closer’
That was me soliloquizing and feeling more uncomfortable after sighting a tall handsome guy walking straight towards me, not just any guy but Cole, all eyes were on him already from afar.
“Hii Cole, am Cia” she bumped into him just as he was about talking to me, smiling and trying to make a nice gesture by bringing her hand forward for a hand shake,
Cia has always had a crush on Cole, and she always did things to make him notice her, but he never did, relentless as she is, she didn't give up.
“I know who you are Cia, it's not the first time you bump into me” said Cole nicely to Cia while he walked towards me as I was about changing route.
“Meet me at the cafeteria, I'd be there by 3pm & I'd be expecting you” said Cole with his British ascent while smiling at me as he walked away calmly and gently with one of his hands in his pocket while the other holding his bag.
Surprised, “I guess he was joking with what he said yesterday”, I said to myself walking away leaving everyone in the hallway amazed at what just happened.
“Cia still stood there and watched as Cole invited me over”
Cole left and so did I.
She was left there alone, embarrassed &
Disappointed. though it was funny no one dared to laugh at her.
“Aarrgghh, I'll get you weirdo, you sure don't stand a chance against me when it comes to Cole” she grumbled and left.
“what the f**k are you looking at” one of Cia's friends turned and said to the students who were watching while they walked away.
«phone convo between Pretty & I»
~1:42 PM~
‘Hello!’
‘Yes Kylie’
‘Are you busy now?’ I asked
‘Yes am having a class now’ replied Pretty
‘When will you be free?
‘In less than 20 minutes’
‘Okay then, when you're done meet me at the facade of the library’
‘Sure; but are you good?’ she asked
‘Yes am fine, just meet me there I'll be waiting,’ I said hanging up.
“I hope she's fine” Pretty asked herself'as she sighed and continued with her lectures.
“What if am laughed at?”
“What if I embarrass myself?”
“What if I make him feel uncomfortable?”
“I can't do this”
“No you can Kylie, you've got this”
“I can't do this”
“What should I do?”
I asked myself while I stood by the library's facade still waiting on Pretty,'
At this point in time I was confused on what to do, now that Cole had asked me to come meet him, I had mixed feelings on wether to go or not, I lacked confidence in myself, that was why I called Pretty to seek for her advice on what to do.
“I've been standing here for quite a while I thought you weren't going to come” I said to Pretty with a disappointing tone after she startled me by suddenly appearing behind me
“Am sorry Jersey insisted he'd speak to me, so I had no choice but give him a little time to explain himself since I'd been ignoring him for weeks now, I got here as soon as I remembered we were supposed to meet” Replied Pretty
“okay then, it's fine,” I said' I really need your help” i said to Pretty with a pity face . “uhm well you see, the day Cole stopped me from jumping off the rooftop he...
“Oh my God Cole, he's so cute & handsome ,he's every girls dream Kylie”
Interrupted Pretty who was blushing immediately she heard the name ‘Cole’ and Cutting my sentence short.,
“Come on Pretty! focus!” I said
“Oh sorry” she said composing herself
“...he told me to give him ten days, so he'd prove to me that life's worth living” I said completing my statement
“at first I thought he was joking, until today when he stopped me by the hallway and asked me to meet him at the cafeteria by 3PM” I continued
“And now I'm confused I don't know what to do” I said with a sad & perturbed face
“Omg he asked you out on a date!!” Pretty jumped and exclaimed feeling surprised & excited
“It's not a date, he just wants to meet up” I replied
“Who cares it's still a date, & it's 40 minutes pass 3PM already. You should go” said Pretty full of excitement
“But I don't even know what to say or do, and he might not be there anymore, it's pass 4 already.” I said in a confused state as I uttered these words
“Just be natural,be yourself.
and hey, you're very beautiful okay, so stop looking down on yourself.Have confidence, you're gonna be fine.” Pretty said nicely uttering those encouraging words to me.
“Okay then” feeling a bit confident I replied walking towards the cafeteria while Pretty stood and watched me leave wearing a nice smile looking gorgeous as usual on her star printed sleeveless gown.
