Chapter 8: The plans are not flawless
The pilots who landed the aircraft safely were rewarded with a flurry of traditional applause, the only one who didn't clap once was Cal's neighbor, who looked out the window with as much interest as if they were still above the ground, and didn't rush to the exit as the other passengers did.
Cal rose from his seat, then extended his hand to his roommate for a farewell handshake.
- Have a good day. - Holding out his hand, Cal said.
- This may not be the last time we meet, my friend. - Shaking his hand, the stranger continued to sit in his seat.
At the exit from the airport in a pose of pathos in the midst of many people, dragging their suitcases behind them stood Mr. Goldy, in huge but good-looking shoes, in long but not very long shorts, the color of photos from space, in which prevailed a purple shade, in a loose cap with a straight visor and a jacket, which he wore over a T-shirt, as beautiful as the rest of his probably extensive closet. Goldie stood out from the crowd as white stands out against black, and Cal, stepping on unfamiliar ground, immediately caught sight of his friend and hurried to him. Instead of a friendly hug or at least a firm handshake, the first Goldy's did when Cal was already a few steps away from him, about to greet his friend cheerfully, Goldy from nowhere pulls out a loudspeaker, and attracts the attention of others with the words: "Attention! Attention! Flight number 0399, which has the honor of carrying my dear friend, has landed, and has finally given us the opportunity to do what we do, but together. So hurry to your friends, relatives and loved ones, I wish you all to be always in joy and health. And last of all, please give my friend a round of applause.
Goldy was the first to clap, followed by Cal in a bewildered smile, and then someone else from the crowd, and then, to the surprise of both of them, the airport security staff, the cab service, and even people passing by shouted something like whoopee. Getting into one of Goldy's cars, the first thing Cal did was to put on his sunglasses that were on the dashboard, push the seat back as far as it would go, lower the back, throw his feet up away, and the guys drove off, leaving long evidence of their presence on the pavement. Upon arrival at Goldy's property, Cal hurried to clean himself up and sit down at a table full of all sorts of sea food, drinks and sweets to enjoy them in the company of his good friend.
- Well, sit down at last, or the food will soon turn into illiquid. Ha ha.
- Today you're on top of your game bro, I applaud everything I have, and met beautifully, and do not forget to joke, and cooked shark soup... thank you.
