Chapter 8: Ch. 8 Her Hatred
After Chleo revealed that she wanted to end her relationship with Alexis, her lover could not accept it and get angry. The man even grabbed Chleo's wrist, making Chleo wince in pain. His fierce grip demanded an explanation from the poor girl.
"I fell in love with someone else! We can't be together anymore." lied Chleo out loud while flattening her expression.
"You are lying. I know you're lying. You only love me. Why are you lying to your own feelings?" both of them knew that was a lie, but Chleo insisted on her lies.
"That is not your business. Let me go! You hurt me. Let go... Hmph!"
Suddenly Alexis kissed her roughly as if he wanted her to feel his broken heart.
She tried her best to hold her tears as she could feel the man's hidden desperate plea. She knew Alexis loved her as much as she loved him, but she needed to end this relationship to protect him.
Chleo didn't struggle and let Alexis kissed her brutally as if the man wanted to suck her soul out of her body. If only one could do that, she was willing to let the man take her soul. At least, she wouldn't have to marry the evil blue king.
Previously Alexis kissed her gently and lovingly. It was the sweetest kiss that could melt her heart or any girl in this world. But now, his kisses are more demanding and dominate her, making her felt hopeless.
Chleo still let Alexis kiss her when she felt a chill creep into her body. This is no ordinary chill, but the one that belongs to the blue king!
She remembered she should end their relationship and not enjoying his fierce kiss. Chleo tried hard to break away from the man's vicious assault. She was afraid that Axel was there watching them and ready to hurt Alexis if Chleo didn't end their relationship right away.
She was eager to end it quickly, but no matter how hard Chleo pushed Alexis's towering figure, the man still has no intention of letting her go.
Chleo bit the man's lip so hard until she could taste an iron-like in her tongue. In an instant, their lips parted, and they were both panting for breath.
As soon as Alexis's hug loosened, Chleo slapped Alexis with all her might.
"Don't ever show up in front of me again." Chleo really did her best to keep her voice steady and convincing, even though her sobs threatened to escape from her lips. She quickly dashed to leave Alexis alone.
Once the distance between them was far enough, Chleo burst into tears while crouching down. How harrowing it was to be apart from the person she loved for years.
How dare the blue king threaten her and force her to hurt her only 'sun?' She hated him. She hated the man who pretended to be her friend, only to stab her in the cruelest way.
It didn't take long before Chleo saw a pair of feet in front of him. Chleo looked up to see the owner of the leg, who was none other than the blue king.
"I will hate you for the rest of my life."
"Fine by me."
Chleo was totally oblivious to the grief radiating from his cold voice and the agonized expression at the sight of her tears.
'Please... stop crying. I promise I will amend what I have done to you.'
Axel promised he would do everything he takes to bring forth the smile on her face. This time she would smile only at him, and Chleo would forget about Alexis over time.
Little did he know, Chleo already sealed her heart and locked it when she stated she would hate him the rest of her life.
It was not a mere statement but a promise that she would not break regardless of what kind of treatment Axel would provide her. If only Axel knew, he might reconsider his decision on forcing her to marry him.
That very day, Axel registered their marriage on the civil registry. They weren't having any parties or celebrations at all because Axel knew Chleo wouldn't want them. After they got the official marriage license, they took a flight to New York to meet the Regnz family.
Chleo introduced Axel as her husband to her parents. Of course, this made Vincent and Cathy shocked and disappointed in their eldest daughter.
However, her parents still embrace Chleo and sincerely wished her happiness. Only Chleo knew that she would not be happy with a husband she hated.
After staying for several days at the Regnz family residence, Axel decided to take Chleo to England to settle there... out of reach of Alexis.
Furthermore, Vincent already started to dig up his memory about him. His father-in-law had the feeling he had met him once before.
Well, Vincent did meet him long before the older man met his wife. At that time, his identity was still Vasili Peskhov.
Afraid that Vincent would identify him as a Peskhov, he decided to leave before things get worse.
