Chapter 3: Chapter 3: It was about time
As I heard Yuki shouting I looked in the sheet and saw our name. The note included:
Good Afternoon Students,
Selected students for the exchange program are:
i)Yuki
ii)Akari
iii)Bema
Students selected please come to the principal's cabin as soon as you receive the names.
Thank You,
Principal
I was just making myself aware of things and surroundings, suddenly a hand was tapped on my shoulder. It was Bema.
"Lol! I guess I've got some company there, it would be fun to meet new people. You better take care of yourself over there." Bema said
"Still you have a choice you can back off, I don't think you both can handle being in devildom, devildom is not what you think." She continued with a smirk.
My blood started boiling, I don't know why this girl likes to get on my nerves, maybe I've become more irritable, or else her face has become more punchable. As I was about to argue with Bema, Yuki stopped me and said, "Akari, I don't think we should be late to the principal's cabin, let's go and get more details, rather than wasting our time here."
I found she was staging facts so we ignored Bema and headed towards the principal's cabin. I could hear someone else walking behind us and guess what it was Bema, maybe she didn't want to be late as well because she's already in the bad books of the school.
I was just about to knock on the principal's cabin door and THAD! The door banged on my nose, when I looked up it was our principal coming out of his cabin.
My nose was hurting like hell but somehow I managed to put a covered my face with a smile and said, "Sir we were about to come to you, we just saw the notice on the school board and-"
"And have come to ask for more details right?" the principal welcomed us with a warm smile.
"Yes sir" answered Yuki.
And as usual, Bema was standing there like she owned the school. She neither greeted the principal nor smiled. Surprisingly the principal also didn't notice Bema. The air between them was awkward.
"You'll be going as an exchange student tonight at 3 am and-."
I gasped when the principal said tonight and 3 am.
"But we aren't ready and they don't know the whole details, you can't do this to them at least!" said Bema.
I was feeling so angry that when the principal is trying to explain, why is SHE INTERRUPTING?! we are already confused about this whole scenario, and upon that she's interrupting.
I somehow managed to get over her punchable face, gathered all respect, and said, "I guess it will be better if the principal spoke himself, but sir isn't it too late?."
"Yes Akari it's late and that's the only time you'll be able to enter the school, I hope that answered your question. So as I was saying that three of you will be going as exchange students today itself. I know it's a bit early but we were informed that students are supposed to be sent there by tonight, so I'll give you some time to brace yourself, and I'll get the arrangements done" he smiled and walked out of the room as he was looking at his watch.
Yuki announced, "Sir, just a second" Our principal stopped and turned around in surprise.
Yuki continued, "Sir, can we know why among so many students, we are the one chosen?"
The principal smiled while walking towards us, he gave a slight, soft pat on Yuki's head and said, "You'll get all your answers when you get there. He turned around and left three of us in his office.
"He's such a --" said Bema. "Girls, trust me no hard feelings here you can back off now, I can't because I have to go there but you both can run away now, I won't tell him." Bema continued.
Yuki got very irritated and annoyed as Bema was wanting us to back off when she knew Yuki wanted to go there so bad regardless of knowing the place.
Yuki ignored Bema and held my hand and guided me outside leaving Bema behind.
Yuki and I decided to take a stroll around the hostel to pass our time. There was some awkward silence created by Yuki as if she was deeply thinking something. I couldn't take any more of the silence and decided to break it as I said, "Yuki, what's bothering you?" she was frightened to hear my voice all of a sudden even though she knew I was besides her.
She said in a confused voice, "I don't know why I'm getting terrible vibes about devildom, don't you think? Bema warning us? Going to devildom at 3 am? And the most spooky thing "DEVILDOM" don't you think this is a bit too much? Are we-?"
I stopped her and said, "Girl, you wanted this so bad, why are you getting second thoughts, maybe because that stupid Bema tried to scare you, and you took it seriously!? Think about this we will finally get to go out of here and see the world! Come on this can't be bad."
Yuki smiled and said, "Maybe you're right."
We changed the subject but deep inside even I was having the same doubt. We decided to stroll more and as soon as it was 2.30 am we decided to go back to the principal's cabin. We saw Bema standing there looking at some door. Bema saw us and was about to say something when the principal came and said
"Bravo girls, you are on time we were contacting the school for your entrance and…. It is done… yes."
We saw the time was 3 am and our principal instructed us,
"So students it's about time now, Bema, Akari, and Yuki hold your hands. And on the count of 3, you all can through the door."
I, Bema, and Yuki glanced at each other, and then the principal murmured something and started the countdown. "3...2...and….1."
