Chapter 214: Chapter 209: Kang Nam-Kyu
It had been almost a week since my husband left me on the stairs. I wanted for two whole days, never moving an inch until I passed out in exhaustion and dehydration. I was sure...I was so sure he would come back for me out of love and compassion that I'm sure she wouldn't let him express for me. But I was growing angry; I had already put up with a lot a woman of my position shouldn't have to in the first place, that was what separated us noble people from the peasants on the street just like her.
I sent people to find him but they would never come back. I went to his office to look for him but all say there were pieces of her clothing lying around so I tore up the whole room in anger. I happened to run into the Queen on my way out and came up with the idea of inviting her to our marital home to present a family front. I knew she had a major grudge against my husband but it was my last hope of bringing him back to his senses and home with me for good. After looking everywhere for him I ran into his children coincidentally with his sister-in-law. I tried to swallow my humiliation and tried to approach them for a change so he could see my last sincere effort into bringing him home to me.
I made my way to the boy as he was looking at female fabric for his mother I presumed. I tapped him on his shoulder and bent down to his level but he just looked at me angrily before turns away to ignore me. I was begging to lose my patience rather fast and spun him around to look at me. "Where is your father boy?" I seethed quietly, unable to come to terms with the fact that was conversing with a small child who had my husband's face...and none of my blood. "It is none of your business where my father is, woman. Now leave me and my family be" he threw my hands down and tried to walk away. I was absolutely enraged; 'woman'?! Not even 'miss' but 'woman'! He tried my last patience just as his trifling mother did. I reached out to grab him and strike him but before I could his sister saw me and pushed me onto the ground "don't touch my brother you witch!" I gasped in shock, frozen in humiliation yet again as I looked at this tiny thing who was no bigger than my hips scream at me in front of the whole market where a crowd began to gather. "You horrible woman! Why can't you leave my family alone? You already took my father away from me but he loves us so much that he comes back for us all the time! Even when you were gone he was with us! He loves us not you so leave!" She was in tears at this point. Her brother ran to her and tried to hold her back but she had the audacity to kick me in my face!
I caught her leg and pushed her to the ground. She burst into tears but still got up to hit me again but before she could do anything her aunt held both of them back and ordered them to stay behind the closest market stall. She had an angry look on her face as she made her way towards me. I tried to get up but the Kisaeng bitch stood over me with one foot resting on my face "so...you're the back to tear my dear sister-in-law's family apart?' She pressed down on my face even harder but no matter what I did I couldn't get her off of me. I couldn't stop crying either "do you know how many nights of sleep my husband has lost over you? How much damage you've done to his children who you just tried to bully?" She let her foot go and grabbed me by the hair up off of the floor "I've dealt with a lot of bitches like you in my gibang. So let me assure you if Yeonnie hasn't dealt with you yet, do not worry, she will soon enough" she threw me to the floor once again and returned to the children, scooping up the crying girl in her arms and let the boy back to whichever rathole they came from.
I cried hysterically, unable to conceal my emotions anymore. The crowd had started laughing and jeering at me, the same crowd who would cheer for my father whenever he was out in his sedan. I ran home as fast as I could and waited for the Queen to accept my banquet invitation.
