Chapter 2: New Journey’s Terror Part 2
Once they have gathered everything, Rin is cooking their supper as the stew is boiling for them two. Shinja sighs then look up at the stars on his sleeping bag that's close to the fire. Shinja said, "Man I hope I can get over this... I guess I have to move on. One thing I am for certain I am glad I am on this journey even though I haven't seen anything yet to prove that we would enjoy it." Rin smiles as she listens to him vent to himself. Once the food is ready, she scoops some rice puts it into a bowl, and puts the stew in another. Rin said, "(She raise her voice a little.) Foods ready, Shinja!" Shinja's eyes widened as he rose from his sleeping bag and got to his feet. Shinja said, "So, what are we having? (He took six steps as he was handed a bowl of rice.) uh, thanks, Rin." She smiles as she puts down a small tray from her magic bag next to a thump he is going to eat from. He places the bowl on it and she puts the stew. Rin said, "Eat up we will need all the strength for tomorrow." She placed her tray down next to him on a nearby stump. Shinja and Rin said, "(All-together.) Thanks for the food." They both took out a spoon and a fork from their backpack and start to eat. Once they were finished, Rin uses a merge spell of water and fire magic to make hot water that was placed in a bucket as Shinja start washing their dishes. Shinja said, "I'll take first watch." Rain said, "Okay good night." She then went to bed as she softly cries herself to sleep. Shinja said, "Good night, Rin. (To not of their knowledge, they were being watched from a distance. Shinja sighs as he stares out at the night bored. He took a look at his friend he is protecting for a moment. He spoke to himself mentally.) Why haven't I noticed this before Rin is a very beautiful girl? (He blushes at the thought as he shook his head slaps his face not too hard.) Pull yourself together man she's... (He groans annoyed. He then heard a twig broke that interrupted his thoughts.) Huh? Who's there!? (A rabbit hops out of nowhere from his left and looks at him then hops onward. He inhale and exhales in relief as he sighs.) It was only a rabbit. (After four hours he went over to Rin and shook her.) Hey, hey it's your turn to take over for watch duty." Rin groan annoyed as she slowly wakes up as she yawns. Rin said, "Okay... (she stood up and rubs her eyes then she start packaging her things for later on today while Shinja went to sleep. Once she was finished, she cast a tiny fireball on their campfire to make it blaze more. It flared up twice the the size for a few seconds and then back to normal.) Oh! That's interesting... well, since I have time I will try to master this technique that I was unable to do like the other girls. I will learn it for both of us... (She sits down with her legs crossed as she takes out a useless white diamond that only sorcerers or sorceresses use as she's channeling her mana into herself her beautiful pink mana engulfs her as she tries to focus.) Hmm... (Wind starts to build up around her as tries to focus it to a point.) Hmm... hmm... (She broke her focus as she is panting with her eyes widened exhausted.) So... hard... I will try it again... in a little bit..."
Once four hours are over, Rin starts to shakes and wakes up Shinja. Rin said, "Shinja... Shinja wake up it's morning." Shinja groans as he slowly wakes from his sleep as he isn't used to getting up in the mornings. Shinja said, "(He groans.) I hate mornings..." He yawns as he rubs his eyes. Rin said, "Well, too bad we have to deal with it." Shinja said, "Sheesh... (He starts to pack his stuff while Rin puts her backpack on her back then Shinja once he was finished.) I guess we go up this hill maybe a town is on the other side." Rin said, "Wroth the shot." They continue to walk for about two yards then they saw a town. They rushed over to it and went past the two guards posted outside the walls of the city while they see are many people and buildings and shops. The very back is the castle where this town's guild and king lives. Shinja said, "This place looks pretty cool in an old-fashioned way."
Rain said, "That big building in the back must be where the guild is." Shinja said, "Maybe we could find out where Brigid is located." Rin said, "Good idea. Let's go..." A man in metal armor with an all-back cape with a dragon's head insignia walks from in of a front of them from in front of a building from about seven feet in front of them. A man said, "Not so fast, little ones. We have business with you two." Shinja exclaimed, "Hey, who the hell are you two?" A man said, "(He drew his sword from his back with his right hand as Shinja did too.) That doesn't matter. (An initiating tone as he points his sword at them.) Tell us what that little girl told you or else!" Shinja glares at him. Shinja said, "Like hell, we will to a bunch of murders who killed our entire city!" A man said, "Tch! (Three more men walkout from the building he came from.) I guess we have to do this the hard way then... don't kill them the boss needs them alive." The other three drew their swords and then they all four charges at them in a battle cry. A Male Guardsmen yells, "Hey, stop! You're not doing that in my town!" He drew his sword and rushes to assist them from about right feet from them from the right. Women start to scream the citizens run away from the entrance. Shinja said, "(He placed both of his hands I the grip frimly.) Tch! Damn! Just our luck they found us so quickly..." Rin points her staff and cast a couple of fireballs as it hits two of them on the far ends it didn't slow them down but it hurt them. As it got to Shinja, he blocks the slash from two of them in a loud clanging sound as he just barely was able to as they all three grunts. As Rin points her staff and zaps the one on the left with a Zap spell, the man screams while he was pushed back for about five feet. The one on the right swings his sword at Rin as Shinja saw that looking behind himself from his right. Shinja exclaimed, "Rin!" Rin gasp with her eyes widened as the sword was blocked with a loud clanging sound from the guard as he hits up his blade he spun from his left and slashes him through his throat killing him instantly as his body fell face first to the ground in a pool of his own blood. Shinja barely manages to push the two of him while many more guards surround them about six of them with spears aimed at them. A female guard exclaimed, "Don't you bloody move, you bastards!" They look around at them while they growl pissed off. The six guards took the three men into custody as they walked away. A Male Guardsmen asked, "You both alright?" Shinja answers, "Yeah, I'm ok." Rin answers, "Same here... a second later then..." Shinja growls softly at the thought of Rin getting hurt from his lack of inability as his fist balled. A Male Guardsmen said, "I am sorry for your first visit to our town to make it up to you two by orders by law I can offer you a free room in our finest inn for a day and a half off on your very first purchase in our weapon shop or armor shop. Now, enjoy your stay. (He gave them both a red card.) That card I gave you is valet for one day then the card will disappear." He walks back to his post to the right. Shinja said, "(He mutters.) If only if I was stronger... you wouldn't have been close to..." Rin said, "(Tries to reinsure him as she hugs him on his back and places her head on his back.) No, it's ok I am fine. You don't need to be upset..." Shinja said, "No it's not! I was supposed to keep you safe I..." Tears start to fall as he felt hopeless and Rin sighs. Rin said, "(She spoke to herself mentally.) This isn't what I want... I didn't want to see this side of him... (She spoke to him.) I... (She felt hesitant to stay how she feels but she pushes it down. She sighs.) You did what you could that's all that I'm happy for... maybe a stronger weapon may help better..." Shinja said, "(He sniffs and wipes his eyes with his left hand.) I'm sorry. I didn't..." Rin said, "Come on, you big goof. Let's go." Shinja said, "Okay, Rin." They both walked up towards the Guild as she holds onto him to try to help him get over his feelings.
