Chapter 3: Chapter 3
As Alice and Hawaii felt like they were on their own world. Well, they weren't really alone as Nina was lurking watching them from a distance. She was clinging to every word they said and her being a vampire she could hear conversations from a mile away. The look of disgust was very clear and Cullen noticed it too.
"If you are in love with him, perhaps it's time you tell him" He said standing behind Nina who didn't even notice his presence.
"What, me?"
"Mmmh-mmh"
"Don't be absurd we are friends"
"By the look of it, you seem disgusted...and maybe jealous?"
"Neither" She said and sat on a nearby chair. Cullen sat beside her. And in no time Amiya joined them. She was carrying the grimoire.
"You guys ready?" Amiya asked
"Not me, it's him. He's the one turning on full moon"
Amiya rolled her eyes and turned to Cullen, she then asked "Are you ready?"
"I was born ready"
"So, the spell we are going to do tonight is a trap spell. I will harness the power of full moon and your wolf strength to lower the veil of the other side for sometime. Then he..." She pointed at Hawaii "He's going to find Nazar from the other side and ask him when the sacrifice should happen and enclose all the details needed —"
"He's not going to say anything! If he crossed over and snapped my neck. Then have a conversation with you but completely erase everything from your brain, you think he'll give up the details easily?" Asked Nina and both of them were quiet for sometime realizing Nina is right. It wouldn't be easy to just ask.
"What if we don't ask?" Cullen intervened
"What?"
"I mean if the dude is an asshole, why don't I just bite him?"
"He's dead. You can't bite a ghost"
"The come up with something Amiya. We are running out of time and if Nina is right, and this sacrifice doesn't take place in time. Then we are all stuck" Cullen said and he took his bag and walked away, leaving Nina and Amiya to figure out the details.
Cullen's parents knew absolutely nothing about the history of supernatural in their family or knowing if the werewolf gene was running on their family. Cullen's father, Mr Jeremiah never broke the curse until he died.
Cullen was alone, and only relied on his pack for support. It was getting dark and close for the moon to reach its apex.
He didn't have much time, so he drove straight to the woods where his pack was. It was in the middle of the forest where they had built a sort of small house and they would lock themselves in, with chains every full moon so as to prevent them from going out and hurt people. The pack had eleven werewolves, seven males and four females all of young age.
Not all of them were from Warlington, some came from far places to seek shelter and peace as other towns hunted them down. The wolves were considered dangerous because of their ability to torn a human being into pieces when they are in transition, they can't help it. They have no control.
When it was darker, Nina and Hawaii alongside Amiya arrived at the hideout. The wolves sniffed the vampires and they started to rise.
"Easy, easy we come in peace" Hawaii said and as usual with a smile.
"These are vampires?" Asked Joseph, he was a werewolf.
"They are my friends. Calm down"
"Friends with vampires?"
"You got a problem with that Joseph?" Cullen confronted him.
"No" Joseph answered then he took out the rest of the pack inside.
Cullen remained with his friends outside as his pack went inside to lock themselves in. He started stripping, it was so cold Nina saw how hard he trembled . "Can't you just put them on?" Asked Nina
"What's the point? After I turn into a wolf they'll all come off"
"Good for us we don't feel anything" Said Hawaii to Cullen.
"Well you are technically dead so..."
"Oh! I've been feeling very much alive sometimes I forget that I'm dead"
The hideout was scary and it had weird chirping of birds, Amiya started a fire using some woods she found over there and magic. She seemed so serious and occupied, constantly turning page after page of the grimoire as if looking for something. Nina noticed it, she left the guys and joined her friend.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Yeah! I'm ready"
"Listen Miya, this spell might take everything you have. Lowering a vale during our times took at least four to a whole coven of witches. So if you feel like you are not ready, we can turn back and go home"
"No" She quickly snapped "No! I can do it"
"I was only saying..." Nina added but Amiya ignored her.
She walked to Cullen who was chaining himself and placed her hand on his forehead. Then she started chanting "Lerelil ydas faaaal" she repeated the words three times and in seconds Cullen started to undergo transition.
It all happened so fast. The moon was at its apex, Cullen's legs and arms were chained linking to a tree nearby. His bones started to break, breathing heavily and rapidly. His scream reached miles away, Hawaii and Nina stood by just in case he even thinks of breaking the chains they should start running. A werewolf bite, is lethal to vampires and they knew it.
For hundred of years they've spent all their lives staying safe of werewolves. They've come across ones who weren't very friendly and they knew how to keep their distance from them during full moon. They held hands together.
"You know what to do if he breaks?" Hawaii asked Nina with a raised eyebrow.
"We run!"
"Yes we do. Amiya can protect herself but we can't"
Just as they were talking, Cullen started to change slowly and first it was his feet which turned into a wolf and in seconds it was his whole body. Amiya stood around a circle which was spelled and no supernatural can enter inside, the fire was in front of her and she held on to the grimoire and one of Cullen's necklaces. She was channeling him and the power of full moon.
"Myejuz limark oopyi. Myejuz limark oopyi pulfik pismatus" Amiya chanted slowly but as Cullen changed totally into a wolf, she started screaming while saying the spell.
Chaos erupted because the chains couldn't hold Cullen anymore. He was fighting to break free, that's why they chain themselves inside because outside it was easy for them to break free. "Come on Miyaaaa" Hawaii called out just when he saw how weak the chains were and they were just in seconds before Cullen breaks free and attacks them.
"Give me time" Amiya said
"We don't have it! He's breaking free..."
"Myejuz limark oopyi..." She screamed the spell like the last gas that she had and the veil was lifted. Cullen broke free but vampires being faster he missed them, Hawaii and Nina were nowhere near the hideout. They had drifted to a place far away from the wolves.
"I think we are safe here. I should go" Said Hawaii and Nina hugged him.
"Stay safe and if he doesn't want to say anything. Come back, it'll close in the next ten minutes"
"I know"
Nina snapped his neck and killed him, she then carried his body up to the tree for it was unsafe to stay on land being full moon in a town filled with wolves. Amiya was still on her circle having nose bleeds but she was still hanging on to Cullen's necklace for strength although Cullen was nowhere to be seen. He had drifted apart chasing Nina and Hawaii as soon as he broke the chains.
"Child" A voice of an old woman called and Amiya turned back. There she saw her grandmother who died three years ago. She was called Gladys and Amiya couldn't believe her eyes and she ran to hug her.
"Granny..."
"What are you doing? You are new to magic, this isn't right!"
"I can lower the veil granny, I can bring you back!"
Gladys held her granddaughter tight "No, this is dark magic. You should go..."
She pushed Amiya outside of the other side and when Amiya fell, she lost control of Cullen's necklace. Hence suddenly the veil was shut and the spell was lifted.
Hawaii was still dead and on the other side searching for Nazar. He even called out "Nazar! Nazar show yourself you bastard!"
"Language please" Nazar said and revealed himself to Hawaii. They faced each other as if bulls getting into a fight "The veil is closed"
"What?"
"I wonder how you are going to get out"
"You are lying"
"Look!" Nazar tried to pass through to the other wold and it was like he kept bouncing back. Something was blocking him.
Hawaii tried it to get out too and he was blocked. That shattered him to pieces and he started screaming and calling out "Nina! Amiya! Anyone..." and he was greeted with silence.
Nazar laughed at him "I can see we are both stuck here. So, where do we start?" and before Hawaii could say anything he was quick to snap his neck. And then carried him on his back.
Nina grew anxious after seeing Hawaii still dead for about half an hour passed. She carried his body down and then started to look around, it was so dark and quiet she could heart her own heartbeat. The full moon had lost its strength, meaning the spell was lifted but Hawaii was still dead.
She left his body laying on the ground and ran to Amiya. She found her unconscious inside the circle. "Amiya! Amiya..." She called out and Amiya awakened.
"I failed"
"What?"
"I thought I could bring her back. I thought I had enough power"
"Amiya the veil is down and Hawaii is stuck on the other side"
"What! He's stuck?"
"Yes, so whoever you were trying to bring back has to wait. He's stuck there..."
Amiya quickly came to life and she lit out the fire again using magic. She hang on to Cullen's necklace and used the weak full moon to lift the veil again. Started chanting numerous spells which she found on the grimoire and until finally Hawaii came back.
She closed it as soon as her soul connected with Hawaii's and then she fainted again. Nina carried her home that night. Hawaii survived being slaughtered on the other side.
While all this was happening, Alice was on her bed sleeping peacefully. Not knowing that she was the key to the most powerful spell to ever been broken on Earth. A key to a sacrifice which was on plan for generations back, a sacrifice which many vampires believed it will strip off their vampirism.
They believed whatever Lunara casted on Nazar was reversible. After all, every spell had a loophole and they were looking for it. Nazar has been dead for thousands of years but can be awakened by that sacrifice and then killed again, hence making all his sire line pure and human.
Some vampires had spent all their lives preventing this sacrifice from taking place. Killing every one who was believed to be a Lunara descendant, and that was the puzzle that Lunara created because one didn't need to be related to Lunara to be her descendant. She was choosing from the other side, and whoever she chose had to bear her mark. Which was the face and body of a once lived princess of Athens who the Greeks believed to be a goddess.
And Alice looked exactly like her, the princess of Athens. And the other thing was, she had to be born in Warlington. Because that's where all the chaos started and the original vampire and werewolf Nazar was created there through a very deep dark magic which still exist in the lands of Warlington.
As she was deep in thoughts, Alice's phone rang and Hawaii's name came up. She quickly picked up and heard him say "Look at your window" and she peeped outside to see him standing still, listening to his phone.
"Are you okay?" She asked
"No"
"What happened?"
"Nothing much, can you come outside?"
Alice hang up the phone and she slowly and quietly made her way outside. He was at the porch and as soon as Alice came out, he didn't hesitate and crawl to kiss her.
It was sweet, deep and passionate. That time it felt real between these two, Hawaii was thirst with lust and desire. And through his lust and desire, came upon hunger. Great hunger for blood and it must be because he's been to the other side and barely made it, as he was kissing Alice his eyes changed and fangs started to come out. He tried to control it but he couldn't, and just when he was about to bite her. He vanished!
