Chapter 5: Chapter 5
Hawaii rushed to hold on to Cullen before he hit the ground. None of them knew exactly what was going on.
"I got you buddy" Said Hawaii.
Amiya opened the door, and Hawaii got inside carrying Cullen on his arms. Alice felt like she was part of the team already, they also treated her like she was part of the team too. A quick and immediate healing spell was in need.
"I need salt and some…"
"Somewhat Miya?" Nina asked. They were all in hurry trying to heal Cullen as quick as possible.
"Water. I have to channel all the four elements"
"Okay! Do it"
"What are the four elements?" Alice asked
"Fire, water, earth and air"
Nina knew Amiya's house because she had numerous sleep overs, hence it wasn't a problem for her to locate where the salt was and a tap of water. Alice was new to it all, she looked at Cullen losing blood and in much pain.
Amiya drew a pentagon with the salt so as to bind it. Then, she got inside the circle with Cullen and performed a healing spell. The salt turned into fire through magic, and it was like she was there with Cullen alone and no one can enter.
Alice stood beside Hawaii and she was a bit taken by all of that, by the magic that turned salt into fire and how Amiya was chanting the spells while holding her grimoire. She couldn't resist herself and asked "What is that book?"
"A grimoire" Hawaii answered her.
"A what?"
"It's a book of magic containing all the spells, passed from generations to generations. It's really old"
"Speaking of old, how old are you?"
"Well, if you will agree to go on a date with me. I might tell you"
"I'm not going on a date with you"
"Why?"
"Because you didn't tell me the truth from start. You had your intentions for getting close to me, and you didn't tell me what they were."
Hawaii startled for a minute "I…I…you know…"
"Can we please pay attention?" Nina intervened their conversations with serious tone. She looked like a vampire who never likes to play.
A wind blew and took out the magic fire, then they started hearing some weird voices and a chair broke. The wind got to Amiya and it was her hair which suffered the blow, she turned back and look at her friends.
"They say they won't help in the presence of him" said Amiya pointing at Hawaii
"Oh come now, what did I do?"
"You pissed off a powerful witch when you were on the other side. Now go, get out"
"Aargh! Alice let's go"
"You too Nina. No vampires"
"Alright..."
Hawaii got out followed by Alice, and Nina. Amiya remained all alone with Cullen, and she closed the door by just pointing her finger to it. She took three deep breaths and lit the fire again, that second time it was huge and growling.
"Heikaz mirdu tundra pasa…heikaz mirdu tundra pasa" Amiya chanted loudly and loudly while repeating the spell for over ten times, she closed eyes and when she felt someone holding her hands. She opened them, and gasped loudly when she saw her granny sitting across her.
"Granny…" She cried out and hugged her.
"Child! You are not supposed to do this, you keep channeling this little wolf and you might kill him"
"How do I get you back granny?"
"Amiya listen to me. My time was up, I died of natural causes and I can't come back. My soul has already found peace and my body…"
"What of your body?"
"I can't come back in this body; I may have to jump to another but there's no need for that Miya"
"Then why am I having nightmares that you are suffering on the other side? Tell me how can I get you back granny?"
Amiya said with tears rolling down her cheeks. All her life she has lived with her grandmother and she had never healed from her passing and ever since she came upon a spell of bringing the dead back she's been wanting to try it all the time.
"Tell me how to get you back?" She asked again.
Gladys looked at Cullen who had passed out and then she looked at her granddaughter "He is an alpha, connected to a pack of strong werewolves, he is stronger than you think. And he needs to die for me to pass through"
"No granny, there must be another way"
"This is the only way Miya" She said and touched her granddaughter's shoulders very tight and started chanting a resurrection spell. Gladys was channeling Amiya who had a power of an alpha.
Amiya didn't want it like that, she didn't Cullen to die for her granny to pass through but she had no choice since Gladys was channeling her power. The spell was too powerful, her eyes started to bleed and she was screaming very loud it had Nina worried.
"Perhaps we should go and see what's going on?" said Nina with a look of concern.
"You heard her N, no vampires. Let her do her witchy thing" Hawaii said to her
"She's a witch?" Alice asked.
"Darling, you really don't know anything do you?" Answered Hawaii with that grin of his.
"Apart from you being vampires, nothing"
"Well that's a shame, your predecessor seemed to know everything"
Nina sighed and said "And her knowing things is what killed her"
"My predecessor?"
"Alice, you have a lot to learn" Said Nina "But this sacrifice shouldn't mess up with your head. First you will not die during it, the witch only need a sample of your blood and that's it. Your blood is the key to Nazar's prison or whatever they call it nowadays, after Nazar has awakened. We will purify him and once he's purified, so will all of us. The vampires' species will cease to exist and we will be humans"
"In the meantime, stay put" Said Hawaii
"Why?"
"Because in the upcoming days you may experience a lot of visitors. Warlington will be flooded with vampires, from all over the world as it was a hundred years ago"
"You mean to tell me; this has happened before?"
"And it'll keep happening for another century if we don't break it now"
It grew quiet for a moment; Amiya's voice had faded. There was no wind or any voodoo stuffs anymore. "It's unusually quiet" Nina said and they remembered that Amiya was performing the spell and they took off to see how she was doing.
When they opened the door, she was unconscious and bleeding. Cullen was dead because Gladys had already passed through.
"Oh no he's not breathing! He's not breathing" Hawaii exclaimed and he started pushing Cullen's chest as if getting him to wake up. Nina was holding Amiya with a look of panic on her face, Alice helped Hawaii in pushing Cullen and trying to get him to wake up.
Then, Alice reached out for her phone and called 911. A woman responded;
"911 what's your emergency?"
"Hello, we have two unconscious friends, one isn't breathing and the other is…bleeding" said Alice whilst panicking.
"What is your address?"
"What's the address?" She asked and Hawaii snatched the phone from her and said the address to the lady on other end of the telephone.
Nina touched Cullen's face and held his arm. He was cold and so unlike him, she knew the worst had already happened but seeing how heartbroken Hawaii was and how desperately he was trying to save him, she kept quiet.
"Come on Cullen! Don't give up"
"Hawaii" Alice called out.
"What?"
"Enough, he's dead."
He quickly stood up and used his vampire strength to choke Alice and pushed her hard to a wall. Nina intervened and pushed him back, he was not himself. He is never himself when he's hurt. He looked down at Cullen, he was silent and for the first time he realized he hasn't been breathing for a while.
Tears rolled down, he was hurt. He just lost a friend and he didn't want to be there anymore so he vanished.
"Where is he going?" Alice asked
"He's hurt. The last time I saw him like that is when he lost the love of his life, let's hope he returns"
Amiya awakened but she was still hurt, Nina grabbed her and calmed her down. The ambulance arrived and took Cullen's body, they all went to hospital with him. Cullen's mother, who was a doctor saw her son being delivered to the hospital. She covered her mouth as tears ran down between her cheeks and cried her heart out.
Nina, Amiya and Alice were very heartbroken by her tears as they were standing at the entrance of the hospital. Amiya couldn't believe what her granny did, she was against the idea of her friend dying but she still went against her wishes. She never meant for anyone to die, all she wanted was her grandmother back but by other ways and not murdering someone she had known her entire life.
"Alice McKelvin…" Said a policeman as he walked towards them. He was holding papers of investigation. "And Amiya Garcia, Nina Miller plus Hawaii Ford. I am told you were with Cullen before his death"
"Yes we are his friends" Nina answered.
"Well, I would like for you to come down at the station with me to review some statements"
"I'm not sure that will be necessary officer" said Nina and locked eyes with him, she was compelling him "You will forget that we are his friends, or any statement that you've been given. Cullen died after falling off a mountain"
"He slipped and hurt his head" The police officer said.
"Yes, now leave us."
The police officer turned back and left the hospital, Amiya sighed.
"That was incredible!"
"It's sick Alice, no one deserves that" Said Nina with a disgust look. Then she looked at Amiya "Let's get you home. It's dark already…"
"Okay"
"I guess I should go home too; I've been gone for a long time"
"Stay safe Alice"
"I will Nina"
Amiya and Alice got inside Amiya's car and drove away. Alice was left alone and she went back inside the hospital instead of leaving. The ER room was crowded with patients and no one paid attention to her, she took an elevator to the fifth floor where there was a mortuary room. The floor was crowded but mostly with nurses and doctors passing through as they came in and out of the surgery rooms. "Can I help you?" asked a female nurse who was holding a troll of a covered male white body.
"I think I'm lost…I am looking for a mortuary"
"Do you have an authorization?"
"No"
"You need one, this isn't a place for non-staff members. Get out"
"Is that Cullen?" Alice asked moving closer to the body.
"Miss I am asking you to leave gently before I call the security"
"Okay, I'm leaving"
Alice looked at the body and she knew it was Cullen. His toes were open and they had turned black. She was shocked but couldn't get any more look as the nurse walked away with him, she took an elevator down and walked away.
In the midst of a heavy fog, and in a deserted warehouse Gladys reappeared in a different body, this time inside of a young black woman in her early twenties. She smiled when she touched a wall and felt it, as a ghost she couldn't. Then, she heard footsteps coming out in the dark.
Eleven witches passed through the veil and onto earth, they were all Gladys friends and witches from Salem. Some were old dating back to 1692 witch trial where they were burned for practicing dark magic. Upon the death of Cullen, he took the whole pack with him. And every death of a werewolf, gave a chance for another witch to return back.
The witches held hands in unison and Gladys said "Sisters I summoned you here so we can be a coven, a coven complete with twelve powerful witches. Nazar must never be awakened. Lunara gave me direct instructions on what to be done, she and I had a long talk on the other side, and I know exactly what to do" she finished with an evil smile.
