CHAPTER 1-The War
In the kingdom of Decresh, the southern wing which housed the palace. Magnificent braziers hanging from one side of each of the fourteen travertine columns light up every part of the throne hall and their light wraps the hall in a warm radiance. The intricate and symmetrical design patterns on the sloped ceiling dance in the flickering light while statuettes and gargoyles look down upon the maple floor of this sublime hall.
A beryl rug splits the entire room in half from the doors to the throne while ribbon banners with adorned sigils hang from the walls. Between each banner sits a small alter full of candles, a few of them have been lit and in turn illuminate the depictions of leaders and legends below them.
Extensive, tinted glass windows are shrouded by curtains colored the same beryl as the banners. The curtains have been adorned with fancy tassels and decorated tips.
An imposing throne of molten steel sits atop a balcony overlooking the throne hall and is adjoined by three equally lavish seats for esteemed guests.
The throne is covered in baroque engravings and fixed on each of the elegant armrests is a crystal divine symbol. The modest pillows are a light beryl and these too have been adorned with gilded edges.
Those seeking the wisdom of their royal highness can do so, on the many luxurious and comfortable mahogany benches, all of which are facing the throne. Those of higher standing can instead take seat in the renovated balconies facing the throne. There is a long mahogany table where a map was placed on; beside the table are comfortable chairs where the dukes, the major general and all other people of important classes involved in the war. They were discussing their next move, when the guard announced the arrival of the major general, to give report on the recent events;
"Your Majesty, we are at disadvantage and sooner or later our camp will be invaded" he said with a straight face as he handed the files over to the king
They frowned when they heard the news. The hall was silent before a duke who looked to be around his 50s broke the silence.
"What about the ammunition given?" He asked as he stared at the major general, trying to pry answers from him.
"The ammunition does not work on witches and we have poisoned the ammunitions but what makes them powerful is the power of fell. We all know that the guardian witch obtained the power of fell, so she is using it against us."
"Hmmm.... How does the power of fell works?" Another person asked with a worried tone.
"She takes their soul out of their body and feeds her power, but her power is still growing."
"How much time does she need to carry out that process?"
"An hour."
"They want to ally with the vampires on this. She asked me to send a message to the king"
This time around the king spoke.
"It's in this recorder" the general answered showing it, as the king signaled the guard to get it.
He played the recorder as he looked at it when it started and it happened to be the witch queen's voice;
"King Ian, how have you been lately" she said with a sarcastic laugh following that.
"Anyway, I will do you a favor and end the war, just hand over the demon's orb. It will benefit us both you know but I will give you time to think. Goodbye" she ended with a maniacal laughter.
Immediately the voice ended the temperature in the room decreased to a rate that the guards and some people in the hall found it difficult to breathe.
The king spoke as he retracted the pressure
"Seems like we would have to discuss with the wolf king about this"
The other officials also butt in their opinions;
"Your Majesty, we have wings which aids us in our agility and flight, wolves have great agility and good defense especially in forest like terrains which makes up for our weaknesses."
"Your Majesty, he should help us besides your daughter is married to the second prince of the wolf kingdom."
"We can strengthen our alliance through this."
The king said nothing but listened to them as they spoke and argued among themselves.
"Your Majesty, we need to make sure the witches do not ally with the vampires"
"Milord, let the wolves deal with the vampires"
"But that will destroy the trade between them."
"That's not our business; our business is to win the war."
"Your Majesty, how about we let your daughter talk to the hidden prince of Azeroth."
"You mean Prince Liam Carter of the vampire kingdom"
"Which other hidden prince of Azeroth are we talking about?"
"Anyway we can use this to disrupt the harmony between the werewolves and the vampires"
"King Zira is a smart king, he might use some trick and turn it to his own good"
"Our king, King Ian is not foolish either" a duke refuted
"I never said our king was foolish" the former spoke
The other officials butted in only to increase the rate of the argument, till the king spoke in a cold and terrifying tone
"Enough, I will speak to king Zira of Gira and we will plan our next move. For now the meeting has been adjourned"
The king walked out of the hall and sent a guard to call his aide
At night, in the kingdom of Gira, the wolf kingdom. A black shadow can be seen swiftly and easily by passing the night guards, until he arrived at the northern wing where princess Evelyn, wife of the crown prince of the kingdom of Gira and daughter to the great King Ian. The black shadow was none other than King Ian personal aide. He arrived at the third floor, when Evelyn noticed someone in the house.
"Whose there?"
"Hmmm... who do we have here?" she asked as she approached the man, while Luna her daughter used that minutes of distraction to come and eaves drop.
She led the man to her study. She poured tea in a cup while the man sat down.
"You can remove the cloak now"
The man slowly pulled the cloak while Luna who was eaves dropping peeped to see who it was, she remembered the man's face but where? She tried to recall until her mom spoke.
