Chapter 7: Chapter 7

It has been one full month since Alex got his Charmander from Professor Oak and this entire month the only people Alex interacted with was daisy and Professor oak as he had already left the school since he was gonna be a trainer, and there's no point in going to a Pokémon school if you are already a trainer.

In this month Charmander has grown a lot, both physically and mentally.

Charmander had grown a few inches in height, bringing himself up to Alex's shoulders but Alex himself was only 8 years old.

However, Charmander had just turned into an adolescent which happens when a Pokémon gains enough strength to survive in the wild on their own. The Pokémon ages go Infant, adolescent, adult, elderly.

Charmander also learned a few moves but Alex had focused a lot more on getting the essential 2 or 3 moves mastered instead of learning 10 new moves and barely managing to use those moves. To put the strength of 100 moves into one required mastery of every move. So in this month, Charmander learned metal claw, ember, and far more importantly dragon breath.

The importance of learning dragon breath cannot be understated cause the earlier a dragonic pokemon can use a dragon type attack the better potential they have as learning dragon types move at the earliest possible point is seen as a measure of aptitude and most Pokémon can only learn dragon type moves after turning into advanced Pokémon, which no first evolution of a three-stage evolution has done.

Alex's Charmander is the only Charmander in the world with a dragon-type attack in recorded history, even the most talented Pokémon trainers only get dragon-type moves when they evolve their Pokémon. Of course, Alex didn't get confident, he guessed that there had to be at a dozen unrecorded Charmander with draconic moves throughout the thousands of years that pokemon have existed.

Also so what if he someday became the strongest Charmander, even an average Charmeleon would defeat Charmander and so what if you are the strongest Charizard, Most pseudo legends would kill you, so what if you are the strongest non-legendary Pokémon? The legendaries would kill you. There is no point in a title that has a but or an if. The strongest is the strongest and there is only one strongest, Charmander also agreed with Alex here since he didn't want to be content with mediocrity.

And how had Charmander unlocked that move? Well first of all when Charmander was still an infant, Alex planted many ideals that are considered draconic, teaching Charmander about the mindset of a dragon, to never be forced to bow, never lose anything and to be the strongest and exert dominance.

Charmander had first used draconic energy when he was faced by 23 caterpies who had come for revenge as Charmander had started hunting its food after Alex taught it about how to cut and eat the proper parts of a Pokémon and Charmander had massacred many of their brethren.

However, the strongest caterpie had come forward and said that if Charmander apologized, they would kill him painlessly and not feast on his flesh as he had feasted on their brethren. In this situation Charmander had realized what it meant to not care about the world, to be a dragon.

Yes, Charmander had massacred Caterpie, however as the strongest being in the jungle, it had the right to eat them. If today, he died, then the caterpie would be just warriors who had taken revenge and Charmander would have been the villain, yet if Charmander came out as the winner, the caterpie would be idiots who died because they challenged someone stronger than them.

Charmander realized what his trainer meant when he said only strength mattered and that might make right. At this moment Charmander felt something dwelling deep within him awaken and at that moment he felt powerful, extremely powerful but he kept his head in place, knowing that his trainers would be disappointed in him if he got overconfident.

Charmander proceeded to massacre the caterpie there. Of course, the reason no butterfree attacked Charmander was that Alex took care of them, Alex had specifically chosen to hunt in this section of the forest cause no advanced Pokémon lives in this area.

This mindset combined with the pinch that Charmander had found itself in had caused it to learn a dragon type move, of course, this was one of the weakest dragon moves ever but Charmander still couldn't use the move as it was too hot for Charmander to use without scorching up the insides of his mouth.

Alex had focused intensely on fluidity and the ability to use any move at any in any position and on the move dragon breath. First Alex had Charmander use ember and increase its temperature to the max and hold it in Charmander s mouth for as long as possible. During this Alex also trained Charmander to compress his flames into a singular point to penetrate defenses.

Alex was currently walking up to the lab where he had first met Professor Oak. He was greeted by Daisy, who Alex had come to tolerate, she told him that 'you're like a young grandpa, always grumpy and weirdly wise' in Daisy's words. Alex still had to wait 3 days for the program to start and 7 to start his journey with Charmander but Alex was in no hurry, the first 2 gyms were gonna be a challenge due to the type of disadvantage but all strategies fall in the face of absolute strength so he'll figure something out.

Alex's thoughts about his journey stopped as he saw Professor Oak walking towards him with a smile as he saw Charmander.

"Charmander has grown wonderfully. Does he have a nickname?"

"Yep he has grown pretty well but he has no nickname as he didn't want one. Maybe down the line, he will have one."

Oak nodded as he knew that a lot of dragon Pokémon preferred their species name to a nickname. He closely observed Charmander and saw Charmander's claws that glistened under the bright lights of the lab and scales looked a bit darker but were also far tougher than before and Oak could make out some muscle definition.

Oak also realized that it wasn't only Charmander but also Alex who had pretty good muscles however they weren't your usual gym muscles or dojo muscles, they seemed to be trained practically and wildly but they reminded oak of people who stayed in the wild for many years. Oak also recognize a small triplet of scratches under Alex's elbow that was a perfect match for Charmander's however Charmander looked to be perfectly obedient.

"Well, one of the reasons I called you here is because Inferno wanted to see how his son is progressing and I need to iron out the legal details and special waivers that most trainers have to fill out plus to special requirements of the project such as reports every month about what you did, of course, if you don't feel like it, you can skip certain parts entirely."

"Understood, Charmander your dad wants to meet you but I will be with Professor Oak here."

Charmander nodded and walked into the back door that lead to the enclosure, Charmander proceeded to find his father landing in front of him as the rest of the Pokémon in a 10 KM radius immediately ran away.

"CHARIZARD" the massive dragon roared as the grass around the two flattened into the ground. However, Charmander's expression remained schooled as he looked at his father with a look that reminded Charizard of Alex's eyes.

Charizard made a taunting movement as it asked Charmander to attack him with his full power. Charmander nodded as closed his eyes and took a deep breath and the moment his eyes opened, Charmander took off at an astonishing speed however just before he reached Charizard, his legs grabbed a chunk of soil and threw it at Charizard as the chunk turned into small pieces and dust which flew into Charizard's face.

Charizard simply breathed a tiny bit and all of the dust was blown away but it had accomplished its goal and Charmander had reached behind the Charizard and charged up to his absolute max, his tail burst into even stronger flames as his surroundings heated up, activating his special ability blaze, using the power of 4 quick attacks which caused him to be surrounded in a whitish-grey cloak of power, as his claws turned into metal harder than iron that glowed a blazing hot that indicated it was hot and at the very tip of his claw burned a small blue fire which indicated dragon type fire.

Charmander launched with all of his power, condensed into one point aimed straight at the back of Charizard's neck. The attack caught Charizard's interest however Charizard decided to let the attack hit him. The attack hit with a large amount of force that would kill most normal Pokémon but Charizard was well beyond that level and the attack didn't even manage to scratch his scales.

Charmander, after giving it his all, fell to the ground utterly exhausted by the short exchange. Charizard only grinned as it felt the amount of force behind that attack, it decided that it likes this offspring of his and his trainer as well, Alen was his name? Or was it Alex?
