Chapter 21: Ship Name, Tingles, and Goofy Mate

~Scarlet's P.O.V~

I sprinted through the forest like a free bird feeling the familiar rush and excitement. It has been so long since I let myself go and get lost. This felt so good.

I ran for what felt like hours stopping at the lake. I scratched the back of my beautiful red wolf and drinking some of the water.

It was time to go back now. I wish I could live here and cherish this peace and warmth forever but I couldn't. Because I was pack-less, I didn't have a mate, and it was extremely dangerous to live without a pack, you'd be made rogue in no time, and being rogue was something no wolf wanted to be.

Shifting back into my human, I sighed tiredly stretching my back. Maybe someday I can come back and live here forever. I quickly got dressed in the clothes that I took off before the run, and checked my phone to see many unread msgs.

My brow raised and my lips twitched upwards in a smile to see like 30 msgs from Riley, my best friend. The purest, the kindest, and the most badass girl ever. Ever since I have met her in the club, she has filled my life with colors and made it so much exciting and lovely. I love all her silly and random jokes and of course her confident yet nervous personality. She was literal friend goals and I was so blessed to have her.

'SCARLET! I am in danger there are people out here trying to kill me aaaaaaaahhh so exciting! Isn't it?'

I laughed and rolled my eyes at her dramatic msgs, they were all like 2 minutes ago.

Quickly grabbing my hair in a ponytail, I started my way to the Alpha's house.

The first time I met Hunter, I was shocked, after so long living among humans I was shocked to see an Alpha let alone the blessed, Chosen One, of course, I guessed it, and everyone would because he just had that aura that no Alpha has ever had.

I was even shocked to find that Riley was this Alpha's mate. I chuckled to myself shaking my head, Riley was gonna love this. Her wishes were about to become true. I even heard her praying last night to convert herself into a wolf.

As soon as I got inside the lift, I felt weird. The lift smelled weird, the way my skin started tingling and my heart started to pound was weird. What the fuck was happening? My wolf jumped in happiness and excitement rolling around making me frown in confusion, my skin felt hot, and I blew on my thumb to calm myself down but nothing worked.

My heart, chest, and stomach all felt weird, like tingly. Eww, what the fuck is going on.

I felt immense pleasure spreading throughout my body and clenched my legs and first trying to control whatever abnormal things I was feeling.

It's probably because I had a run today after a long time. Wiping the light layer of sweat on my forehead with the sleeve of my pastel green top I smoothed out my high-waisted jeans, my ankle heels clicking as I walked towards the door, ringing the doorbell.

All my senses went over-hill as I was blessed with the extremely wonderful scent of Vetiver and Grapefruit. I greedily inhaled in all the scents, did they opened a perfume shop or something? What else could possibly be the explanation for this heavenly scent?

I closed my eyes in pleasure and my wolf howled in peace and then the door opened.

Opening my eyes, my jaw dropped at the beautiful specimen in front of me. Messy dirty blonde hair, with deep ocean blue eyes, sharp jaw, goofy expression, and a strong built.

My jaw dropped as my wolf jumped and starting screaming the same word over and over again.

'MATE MATE MATE HE IS OUR MATE YOU DUMBASS DO SOMETHING'

Lia, my wolf screamed but I couldn't comprehend anything, just start at the guy in front of me, my mate!

Omg, do I look fine? Fuck, of all days it was today my hair bad to be up in a ponytail making me look like a fucking egg. My clothes are fine and shit! I don't have any makeup on! Fuck fuck fuck fuck and to make things worse, I popped my pimple this morning, FUCK! Please don't look at the corner of my forehead. Do I smell ok? Can he smell my sweat?

My questions all paused and I was taken aback when suddenly he just tackled me in a tight hug, protectively grabbing my head and placing it in the crook of his neck, and his other hand circled around my waist in a tight embrace. I brought my arms around his neck hugging him back, as I greedily inhaled in all his scent as my eyes started to tear up in happiness. This was surreal.

"Why are you crying, my beautiful mate?" I almost fainted at his light yet deep voice wiping my tears. He asked me with so much love and adoration in his eyes making me tear up again.

"I'm just so happy", I uttered and he smiled softly wiping my tears from my face.

"You want to go somewhere out to talk?", He asked me playing with my hair that I took out of the ponytail, almost nervous. I flashed him a wide grin before nodding my head, then I grabbed his hand, intertwining our fingers together and we walked hand to hand out of the building wearing wide shy smiles.

"I say Rydlet", Ryder said and I rolled my eyes taking a sip of my milkshake and Ryder ordered coffee because that was manly even though he was drooling at the sight of my milkshake, his coffee long forgotten. My lips twitched upwards in a smile, and I shake my head ordering him a milkshake.

"Absolutely not, our ship name is not gonna be rydlet of all things, that sounds ew", I scrunched up my face in disgust as we decided the perfect name for us.

He pouted then chuckled caressing my hand. My eyes brighten and I slapped the table.

"Scyder or Scader, what do you think?", I winked in satisfaction and gave him a cheery grin and he looked up in the ceiling crossing his arms and rubbing his chin.

"Scader is perfect", He smiled when his milkshake arrived gulping it all down in one go and I laughed at the mustache it created.

My mate was a goofy child and I absolutely loved him. Gosh, I have a mate now! I still can't believe it.

I don't know where all the sudden confidence came from, but I went all serious staring intently at his milk mustache. And before I knew it, I was leaning over capturing his lips in mine. His eyes widen a little before he recomposed, grabbing my waist and placing me on his lap, as he kissed me back with the same passion, desire, lust, and intensity.

"Didn't know my mate was a little firecracker", he teased me as we walked along the park and I smiled shyly giving him a wink.

"Ha! You don't know anything, wait till you see my true self", I ran my tongue over my bottom lip making sure he saw it and he shook his head before chuckling and messing up my hair.

"I'm excited, my cracker", He smiled at me and I smiled back at him, proud at the fact my lipstick, which I sneakily applied at the cafe, was smudged all over his mouth and he didn't do anything to remove it. My sugar crunch.

I gasped as I glanced at my phone, while Ryder raised his brow at me. Fuck! I forgot about Riley! Shoving all my things in Ryder's hands I ran quickly towards the building that wasn't that far away from the park.

Panting loudly, I got stopped from going inside by a guy.

"Don't go, she needs to be alone", He said with a blank face offering me a small nod.

"You must be Nicolai, Ryder told me about you", I smiled at him, while he nodded at me again. I felt Ryder hug me from behind placing his chin on my shoulder, his scent driving me crazy.

Nico placed his hands in his pocket walking away I don't know where.

"I am blessed and so happy to finally have you in my arms", he whispered in my ear, and I smiled in serenity.

"Me as well, Ryder, I'm so happy", and with that, he placed his lips on mine for the third time that day.
