Chapter 5: Uraume
Sukuna and Tamamo woke up as usual and started planning for today.
"So, Sukuna-kun~, what we will do today?" she said in somewhat excited tone.
"Sukuna.. kun?" he asked in disbelief, no one has ever called him like that, but he quickly put it aside, because after a few weeks of traveling with her, he learned about her personality. She is all that bubbly person who likes to tease a lot, so he instantly ignored how she named him. He sighed and said: "Why bother asking when you know the answer?"
"Mou~, you are no fun. I know that we will search for more people, but we could do something besides that as well." Tamamo said with a cute little pout. She wanted to tease him a little, but she knows that it will most likely not work.
"Like what?" he asked, he really needs to gather more curses for future to proceed his plans. But that little fox gets bored sometimes and then she could pout fot days straight till she gets what she wants. He sometimes thinks to kill her. But benefits from her will be much more so he bears with it.
"Hmm.. How about we go on a travel?~ Maybe we could find something interesting outside of Japan~? You know that Japan is pretty small, if compared to the rest of the world. And not to mention all realms, that could probably contain twice the size of Earth." she suggested. She really would like to see rest of the world.
Of course Sukuna knows that there is a lot more in this world than just Japan. At one moment, he actually thought about leaving from here. He can only imagine how many interesting events can happen in the rest of the world, even if that small country holds so many of them. Also, there is most likely bigger variety of beings out there.
"Haah~ Has someone ever told you that you can really be annoying sometimes? *Sigh* We will have to get few curses here, so they could proceed with our plans instead of us, and then we can leave Japan. I guess it will be fine if we leave for few years.." he sighed and finally answered her.
"Oi! I'm not annoying, I just want to see rest of the world you know?! But you are first one to say something like this to me.." she said with a small small on her face. She really starts to like him more and more, even if he is rude sometimes. She then said: "But as soon as we will gather them, then we will leave!"
"You are in command now or what?" Sukuna said with a little frown: "And it's not like we have found any of them yet, so calm down. They have to be smart enough and would be ideal if they would have at least some power to defend themselves. We don't need weaklings."
"Yeah I know, I know.. anyways, where we will go next? We have checked some of the nearby cities, but we haven't found a lot of them yet, even weak curses get erased quickly. Seems like sorcerers are as active as ever."
"Yeah I know.. but we still should tr— Huh?" Sukuna wanted to answer, but he sensed that there are some people near them. He then asked Tamamo: "How many?" he knows that as a kitsune and a yokai, she has better skills for this kind of situations.
"They are six.. but 5 are chasing 1." she is curious about that one person that gets chased.
"Hmm.. 6 people, even if they are sorcerers, we have nothing to worry about. Let's go." Sukuna knows that there shouldn't be any stronger sorcerer than him in Japan as of right now and even strongest that do exist, wouldn't put up much of a fight, even if they unite.
When they got near them, they clearly saw them. 5 sorcerers chasing one.. curse. It would be laughable, if not for the fact that this curse resembled a more that of a human, rather then a curse.
It means that this curse is most likely intelligent and powerful enough. Sukuna thought that this world seems to be laughing at him. He couldn't find any suitable subordinate for weeks and now here it is.
He then turned to Tamamo and said: "We will wait for a bit, maybe we could see some of.. hers? Powers. She seems to be exhausted, so she won't run for long anymore." as he said that he dissapeared from his previous spot and started observing from distance. He couldn't get that curse gender though, it looks like a girl, but he is not that sure about it. There are a lot of cursed techniques, and who knows which it uses.
She is a white haired monk with chin-length white hair, an irregular line of dark plum pink running horizontally across the back of her head, and dark pink eyes with long eyelashes. She wears a plain monk robe of dark blue, which is white on the innermost layer.
(A/N: Ok, so first of all, this is my first time writing a fighting scene. So if you find some flaws/ mistakes that I could fix or do something better, then you are free to write your own suggestions.)
Not long after, curse stopped running. She understood that sorcerers would corner her either way, so there's really no point in running. She turned 180 degrees to face them and put hands in front of her, like she wants to blow something off. When sorcerers got there, half of their bodies were instantly covered in ice.
"Fuck! One wrong move and we will be shattered into pieces, be careful!" one of the sorcerers yelled.
'They have a lot of cursed energy, I have to play careful here' the curse thought to herself.
Soon enough sorcerers broke free from ice and started attacking. One of them summoned a shikigami to attack from air, while another two rushed towards her, to engage in melee combat. They both had cursed tools in form of a dagger and a katana.
Cursed spirit didn't let them get near her though. She used another technique to attack them, this time it was aimed at those that were attacking her. One of sorcerers, that had a cursed tool in form of a bow, fired an arrow that was imbued with cursed energy towards coming ice. It shattered at least some ice, but they still got injuries. Especially those that were in front, they got most severe injuries. Luckily they used their cursed energy in time to neutralize ice, so they will be fine in few seconds.
While all this commonition was happening, another sorcerer was trying to sneak from behind. He specialized mostly in sneak attacks. But before he could get behind the curse, she quickly turned her towards him and prepared another attack. She first made a ball from an ice and then started to form an ice arrow with her hands. It all happened in mere seconds, as she unleashed arrow towards him.
He tried to quickly evade it, but arrow was too fast and pierced his leg. He screamed in pain. But thanks to him, it gave his teammates enough time to attack curse once again. This time one shikigami in form of a eagle attacked from air, while another one in form of pure white serpent attacked from side. Two melee combatants attacked from left and right, while another sorcerer charged her arrow with cursed energy.
When curse noticed them coming, she knew that she wouldn't stand a chance. She could take down two of them, but they were more. Even if one was out of them right now, two could still finish her. When she was about to use all of her energy to kill as many as she could, a man appearead in front of her. He had 4 hands, and slightly spiky pale pink hair. He wore light-colored kimono with a black edge, a black scarf, black socks and wooden sandals.
Suddenly he lifted his right hand, and used his two fingers to slash them in direction of two sorcerer across. Instantly, their limbs were cut off keeping only head and body intact. He then did same towards others, but this time they were cut into pieces. This all happened within few seconds. She felt in awe at such display of power.
He turned around and looked directly in her eyes and muttered: "Hmm.. high capacity of cursed energy, polished techniques and not bad battle planning.. definitely good choice." she wondered what he meant by that, he then suddenly asked her: "Hey, do you want talk for a little bit? I have an offer for you." she nodded, she could at least get some information about him.
"Okay, wait for a moment here, I will finish with those two first." finally he found someone suitable, he is sure she wouldn't refuse to his offer and if she would, he could just easily subjugate her with his strength alone. He then walked towards sorcerers and proceeded to interrogate them. They were from some minor clans, but they were pretty strong amongst their clans. Anyway, they had nothing useful for him, so he finished them rather quickly. He has now more important stuff to do, than torture some weaklings.
"Okay now we can talk." Sukuna stopped for a moment before he turned around and yelled: "Heeey, Tamamo, come out already, we have a important matter here." kitsune suddenly appeared near him.
"Huh, finally we can start. Let's get introductions out of the way first, you can call me Sukuna." now that he looked closer to curse in front of him, he still couldn't understand to what gender that curse belongs to, not that I really matters for him.
"I'm Uraume, pleased to meet you. Also, thank you for saving me, If not for your help, I would be dead right now. So what was that you wanted to talk about?" she said in grateful tone.
"Don't mind. Anyways, I would like you to work for me. You see, I want to annihilate all sorcerer clans. Even if I could possibly make it on my own, it would be really bothersome. In exchange, cursed spirits would have more freedom, because other beings will have hard times against curses. Of course I will have to gather a few more curses like you, who could possibly be more useful, but that's for later. So? What do you think?" he said as he released a bit of his pressure on her.
"I-I gladly accept your offer!" she startled a bit because of pressure, but still answered him. She really has nothing to lose at this point and with strength that this "being" in front of her has, it could really be done, if planned right. Also she doesn't mind working for someone, if they are stronger than her and could possibly do something grand.
"Hmm?" Sukuna thought that stronger curses would put up more resistance and wouldn't agree so easily. But whatever the reason is, he couldn't care less about it. He quickly formed a pact with her, after what she left. He told her to search for more curses that could possibly be useful and then bring them to him. If he needs her, he could contact her later.
"Anyways, we can go search for more of them now and then we could probably leave Japan for some time, is it fine with you?" he asked Tamamo but he didn't really care what would her answer be.
"Yeah, that's a good plan for the time being. Now let's go Sukuna-kun!~ The faster we find them, the faster we can leave!" she said with excited tone.
"Hah.." he straight up ignored second part of what she said.
(A/N: Sorry if that chapter was somewhat boring? I was really tired today, so I was too lazy to write more. I will try to write next chapter longer than usual. If you find any mistakes or typos then please mention them.)
