Chapter 22: Do not touch

Then as if to prove a point, he pushed her over the railing!

"Ahhh!" She screamed with her eyes closed, feeling her body tipping over. That's it! She was going to die for the second time! Her hands flapped around madly like a blind man unable to see.

But the next second, he retracted the hands he had placed on her waist and pulled her back up again.

Realising she hadn't become a splattered egg, she instantly reached out and circled her arms around his neck, tightly clung onto him for dear life.

"I didn't know he was going to be there. I swear. We met accidentally," she started crying, afraid he was going to push her off again if she didn't give him an answer.

Nathan could feel her tear stained face buried against his neck, her thin, slight body was still shaking as she whimpered in fright.

She must've been terrified. He thought with a pang of guilt in his chest. What he just did was unforgivable, scaring her like that.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and carried her down from the railings. She continued to sob her heart out as he held her tightly in an embrace and gently patted her shoulder to calm her down.

Sefi was hating herself for being so weak. She never thought she feared death itself. What happened to her? She used to be fearless at one point. She was someone who had died once already for God's sake. What was the worst thing that was going to happen? Getting reincarnated again?!

Realising how close his body was, she straightened up and pushed him away forcefully. "Don't touch me!" She frowned. Nathan Tang was no gentleman, he was a wife beater that deserved to be burned in hell! She concluded.

Her face and eyes were red from the crying. Her hair was a bit messy and her dress was looking dishevelled. She looked like a damsel in distress, only the angry vibes emitting from her body didn't match her fragile appearance.

She looked mad. Like an angry rocket type of mad, like she was going to pull out a machete and slice his head off type of mad.

"I..." He began to explain.

"You what?!" She spat, refusing to let him finish his sentence. "You were going to push me over the freaking balcony!"

Faced with her accusations, he felt a sense of shame. He wasn't really going to push her down, he was just kidding. He stepped forward to close the gap between them, Sefi immediately jumped out of the way as if she was about to be bitten by a snake.

"I bet you were the one that pushed me down the stairs. Am I right? " She placed her hands on her hips and stared at him with hatred.

These bloody Asian rich kids think they can do whatever they want. It was fine well he didn't want to marry her but there was no need to kill her!

He frowned," that wasn't me. "

"Yeah right! Who was it then?" She asked, uncertain if she trusted him.

She was used to all the bitching and backstabbing having spent most of her life in an all girls' boarding school. It was common practice, so whether it was Eve or Caitlin or Mrs Tang for that matter, she could handle it.

To outsiders, it may have looked like a prestigious school that provided top education for fine young ladies, but inside it was like the "Game of Thrones" where everyone was the mother of dragons and only the fittest survived.

"No one pushed you," Nathan said slowly, "you fell down by yourself."

"Liar!" Sefi retorted. Just keep on lying, why don't you Pinocchio! "I must've been blind if I managed to miss the steps."

"It's true, Tracy saw you fall. I wasn't in that day." He said.

Tracy saw her? Sefi tried to cast her mind back. Then why didn't she say anything? She pondered at the thought. Was that why she grabbed those scissors off of her?

She felt a bit dizzy. It was as if everyday she looked out the window and saw a dazzling blue sky only to be told one day that it wasn't actually the sky, it was the sea instead...

"Sefi? Are you alright?" Nathan asked carefully, watching her face change in colour. The anger seemed to have evaporated off of her and all that was left was her fed up look.

Go away! Sefi wanted to say. Leave me alone. I want to go home. Maybe she could phone her parents or phone her brother for them to send for her? That would've been problem solved.

She can just imagine herself on the phone, "oh hi mum, you know that funeral that you guys attended on my behalf, well I'm not dead, surprise! Where am I? Well, that's a very good question, you see I've just been transmigrated to Asia continent, so can you please buy me a ticket back to the UK or wherever is easier? Thanks, love you!".

Her poor mum would probably have a heart attack after hearing this! She could always get a job and buy her own ticket. Yup, that's what she'll do. She thought determinedly.

"What are you two doing here?" Eve suddenly appeared at the doorway, her large doe-like eyes drifted between the two of them like an x-ray scanner.

Then she walked up to Nathan and put her hands around his arm as if to declare he was her property. "Let's go, time to cut the cake." She said as she started to drag him away from Sefi. He walked along reluctantly, he wasn't done talking to Sefi yet.

Sefi looked disinterested, just go, get lost, the lot of them. Let her be in peace. That girl was so overly possessive, she pitied whoever that ends up having to marry her. She might as well put a sign on Nathan's head that read, "Eve's property, DO NOT TOUCH!".
