Chapter 42: Chapter 39: Mansion Mystery (Part 5)
Luke kept reading the journal, to see if he could get any information that could help them solve the mystery. Meanwhile, Thalia found a chest in the basement with a shield, the shield was named Aegis. The shield had the face of a woman with snakes for hair, a gorgon, and it made Enychta a little apprehensive just by looking at it like it was dangerous for him or something... It made him feel afraid. He then remembered that in the books, Thalia had a shield that could make monsters scared, it produced an aura of dread to those facing the shield and it was a gift from Zeus...
While Thalia was drooling over the shield and Luke was reading the diary, Pruno was holding Eny's arm that was twitching as he stared into the eyes of the gorgon carved on the shield, Pruno snapped his fingers in front of Eny's eyes who sighed and shook his head to concentrate. He just remembered the day he ate Medusa... No, there will be no flashback, he just remembers how he looked into her eyes, killed her, died, went to Tartarus, and was reborn with his body regenerated back to normal and no longer a statue.
It hurts, becoming a statue I mean, your cells simply stop and your heart too, then you slowly freeze and lose consciousness, you just feel cold and alone, just like the void he floated in once.
After reading everything he could from the diary, Luke sighed, saying: "With all the information we gathered, is safe to say that there was not only one murderer, but four, and it goes much deeper than we first thought." Eny snapped out of his internal Vietnam flashback before he saw Luke's tired and sad expression, he approached him and with his big meaty arms, hugged him. It was in times like this, or every time Eny hugged someone, that he was glad that his body heat was amazingly warm. Luke began to tell everyone what was written in the diary, and everyone was grossed out by what they heard... Descriptions of rape, torture, and gaslighting pushed the girl, named Jessica Mersys that was a daughter of Aphrodite, to suicide. She killed cut her wrists and laid next to the stairwell, the four men had no time to take her body.
Why?
Because one of them, the most obsessed with her, went insane when she died. He killed one of the three other men and left two on the cells to rot and die, and die they did but one left behind the diary. Pruno was slightly disgusted with the rape part, but he could understand the desire to have someone by your side no matter what, he felt that every single day when he looked at Eny and Luke! It's in his blood and he can't deny it. He would go as far as locking them away where only he can see them if necessary, so they would love him because that's what he wants them to do, love each other as much as he loves them.
"So, what are you going to do about it?" Thalia asked, making Luke sigh a little overwhelmed by emotion because he knew how it felt to be abused physically and mentally, he had to think what he would do to the person that did this... Justice? Well, that could be done I guess. "What can I do?" Asks Luke, slightly irritated because he couldn't think of something else than murder, then avenging the poor girl by killing the last survivor of her abusers. "Killing him seems like a great option, but we will do whatever you think is right." Eny pulled him closer as he saw that Luke was very confused about what he should do, his lips touched Luke's lips for a second before he smiled at the tomato that was his little lover: "I guess you need to learn something from this, I'm sure you will choose the right option, whatever that may be."
Pruno held Luke's hands and kissed his fingers as he suggested: "Maybe we can ask her... The girl's mother, Aphrodite, what we should do to the man that tortured her daughter." Luke suddenly had an idea, he opened his mouth and said: "Maybe... Just maybe... The monsters that we fought were sent here by Aphrodite to hunt and kill the man?" Thalia placed a hand on her chin and made a thoughtful expression, she nodded and said: "That seems very plausible Detective Luke. I guess we could capture him and offer him to Aphrodite? That could work." Eny was against that idea because they couldn't trust the Goddess of Love, she was well known for causing discord around, even more than the Goddess of Discord!
Luke, however, seemed to agree with the idea. "Now we just need to find him..." It was his cue, Eny bit Luke's ear to get his attention, making the boy moan under his arms, with an evil smirk on his face he whispered: "I think i saw something last night~" Luke gulped because he didn't know what he was talking about, but it sounded way sexier with him whispering it to his ear. "Yeah?" Luke asked in panting, his face was growing redder than before, Pruno decided to take the opportunity to seduce and while Eny was behind Luke, he attacked head-on, flanking with Eny. His hand grasped Luke's hands as he pressed his chest against Luke's chest, making eye contact with him. "I guess it would be better if I showed it to you rather than saying."
Eny took them to the stairwell, where he showed and talked about the man he saw last night. "Wait, what?" Luke said as he looked at Eny, who nodded and said: "And then he vanished. He simply got here and touched the wall, vanishing right after that." Luke frowned, he knew Eny knew more than he was saying, but it wasn't saying everything then it must mean he wants him to find out about that! He just wishes Grenade was here...
Oh, talking about Grenade, he had his special mission with his family.
