Chapter 23: Itachi's Sharingan
(The Next Year) *Kaito's POV *
It's currently year 67 and I'm 8 now. Our mission are going well. Itachi and I have been trying to apply for the chunin exam. but sadly our sensei denied our request with the excuse of our other teammates are not ready. I can't do anything about that so I've accepted reality.
With our steller performance since the team is form, we've earned the assignment of escorting th Land of Fire's Daimyo on his annual visit to Konoha. The Daimyo is literally the king of this country. Isn't it amazing that we're tasked in protecting him?
Wrong! It's not amazing! We aren't really even protecting him anyways, our presence are just for show anyways. The Daimyo will have the some of the 12 ninja protecting him. They are the personal bodyguard of the Daimyo. And for precautions, the Hokage has some Anbu protect him in the shadows. Are we needed for his protection? No!
It's not like we can decline it so I just went with it. The first thing we did when we were assigned the task is went ot the capital. There we will escorts the Fire Daimyo to Konoha and back to the capital after the visit.
(A/S: there's literally no information on the capital so I'm gonna say it takes 3 hours to get there. If anyone know the real distance please tell me.)
( 3 Hours Later)
We arrived at the capital and headed to the Daimyo's Mansion. After a few minutes, the Daimyo was ready and we left for Konoha.
(1 Hour+ later)
We are halfway to our destination. Along the way, there's nothing out of the odinary. I'm starting to wonder if it would be better if I didn't come. I could have continued my research on Zetsu.
Suddenly, a masked man appeared walking towards. The mask was orange and black stripes. He had long raven cloloured spiky hair. His clothes were black and he had a sword tied to his waist.
This appearance. There's no doubt about it..... It's Obito well he looks like he's in Tobi mode now.
Obito/Tobi walked towards us in a playful manner, putting the Daimyo and his group at ease. Everyone had their eyes on this unique(weird) creature. Suddenly, everyone froze. Everyone but me and Itachi, and maybe some Anbu. Obito casted a genjutsu on them. Itachi avoided his gaze just in time while I already knew who he was and kept my guard up.
Just as I was about to usmy snakes to attack him, Tenma broke free form the genjutsu and charges at him. Tenma's attack pases through Obito and he killed Ten a with a slash of his sword.
"You two didn't charge directly at me. Unlike him, you didn't charge at me recklessly. " sthe complimented us, kind of. He then continued, "I'm only here for the Daimyo. I'll spare your lives."
He then passes through Itachi to head towards the Daimyo. Just as Obito came close to itachi, he forced himself to attack Obito. But just like Tenma, the attack passed through Obito.
Just as Obito is about to retaliate, 4 anbu appeared causing Obito to escape. The then vanished in a spiral. And for some reason, Itachi fell unconscious. One of the 4 Anbus carried Itachi and told one of the 12 guardian ninja to continue our journey.
( Another 1 hour+ Later)
We arrived at Konoha. Other than the encounter with Obito, we didn't encounter anymore dangers during our journey. We were informed that we won't be escorting the Daimyo back to the capital. We'll be replaced by a team of jonin as the enemy, Obito is estimated to be of that level.
(The Next day)
All members of Team 3 attended Tenma's funeral. After the funeral, Shinko announced that she will be leaving the team and quit being a Ninja. Sensei left afther that and soon the only ones left were me and Itachi.
Looking at itachi, I could see tears. Suddenly, his eyes turns red and two tomes started spinning.
"The Sharingan" I accidently let out.
Itachi touched his eyes and closed it. He then left without saying anything. I've decided to leave him alone for now.
(In The Subspace's Lab)
I've return to my Subspace to continue my research on the Zentu. The last few experiment were a failure. After the cells were activated, the undergo division without a problem. The problem is that they don't take any shape. I've tried a few times but it didn't work.
I've decided to apply what I've learn in biology. The nucleus of the cell contains DNA which carries genetic genetic instructions for the development of an organism. I'm guessing that the cells I've collect lack certain DNA, causing it to divide without creating a structure.
With that hypothesis, I inserted my DNA into the Zetsu cells and left it for division.
