Chapter 16: 'Diviners?'
"So?", Boss Tai leaned back on his bed; and continued-- "What's the matter?"
"Matter is not about me, Its about you."
I took out my Pda and silently opened a Chat on it; giving it into my boss's hands to see.
"See! I got Four messages like this; Each saying to destroy whatever we found in that box.", I said.
"Seems we did got into a problem here having that book on hands.", Boss said; without any change on his expressive face.
"Well, I want to ask that question again--", I said.
"...Wait, Wait-- I know what you want to ask about. Who gave me the book. Right?", He said; cutting my words to a halt.
I nodded, as I actually wanted to ask him this anyways.
"The person who gave me this is a Miner at the Raniganj-Burdwan Corp. ; His name is Rahul Wei. He sent me this three days ago, seemin'ly to keep this for a moment-- As far for how he found this, I dont know a single clue about it.", He looked upwards, thinking- "As for how I know him, He worked at your place here when you weren't employed here. For instance, He is senior to you. But, He indeed has a sharp eye for the relics and stuff from the past; even more than me."
"Well...He sounds to be a interesting person enough. If he was actually so talented, why did he sent this 'treasure-ly' thing to us; rather than selling it himself?", I asked; as for me, it's for feasible to sell it personally if I knew that this thing has a real fortune tag stamped on it.
"For this, I think he might had some problems.", He said.
"What problems?"
"Conflicts."
"Conflicts?"
"Burdwan Smuggler Gang."
"But, Burdwan's Old gang was wiped out right?"- I asked as I didn't ever got to go back to my hometown in all this easy-life here in Kolkata.
"It's the new one.", He continued- "The Old gang was wiped out and was destroyed to every bit by the Calcutta Enforcer Department. But C.E.D. was immediately challenged by a new Smuggler gang from the Asansol- 'The sinners'. They took hold of every old businesses of the Burdwan's Smuggler gang, and have now formed a whole Guild of unknown number of members; merging small and big gangs of the North Bengal and West."
"Heh, That's seems a whole lot of things happened while I wasn't there. Just two years-- Everything changed. And guess what? I don't know a bit of it. Heh.."- I laughed at my lack of knowledge.
Knowledge, which is just a word for something more than a treasure- In this chaos of a time.

"Well, Did you contacted him after that accident happened to us?", I asked.
"I did, and guess what? No response.", He said- "For now, If that Gang thing is ignored, his no-response might mean he is in his shifts of work. In that case as far I can guess, We can only get him after five days from now."
"Huh...Seems we can't get anything more about this box from him until then. Well, then...", I took my Pda from boss and gave him the pda now opened with a document.
"See this.", I said; handing him the pda.
'Ut-enim-divinitatem-reveles..", He spoke out, as his went through the document I gave to him.
"It's written in Latin, and it says about finding something divinely.", I answered in response; continuing- "I don't really know, how or why these words end up here- somewhere where no one can think of having something to be found in Latin."
"So, You clashed your small head in it to research, and found this. Right?", He said; taking another look on the doc.
"Heh, What you can even expect more from me-- But, I found nothing specific other than it has some seemable connections with the European old sect of Diviners.", I continued; taking a pause for breath- "The Diviners were wiped out in the Dark ages, and as far from what I got to know about them-- They were the believers of the eternal time. Meaning, For them-- Time was the eternal being that is almost equivalent to the God."
"Huh...Seems interesting for me as an atheist.", My boss commented.
"Same here; But the connection I got in this statement with them is that- they have their core saying as Ut-enim-divinitatem-reveles..or whatever it is spelled."- I continued, "But, I can't still think how they can be in connection anyways-- The Diviners were from Europe, and The book we found was here in the Indian subcontinent."
"Well, Can't It be like- smuggled across. Afterall- these words were written later on the book.", Boss said; stating his assumptions.
"That can't be, Actually-", I continued- "As I told Niloy to do tests on the ink used to write it, I got something interesting."
"What you can find interesting in an ink?"- Boss remarked; curiously.
"The ink used is Peraferum, A ink found in most of the 2190s ink-pens and stuff."- I took a pause, and said-" As for Peraferum..."
"..It is known to be mainly manufactured by the Vizagian Government, which means- in India.", My boss said; stopping my statement.
"Yeah... That's what I was going to say about it; And if I add something to this info- The Peraferum ink was only used by the Elites of the Vizagian Government, as they were the only people who can afford these costly stuff.", I added.
"So, If we take that into consideration, then the one who had written the words might be someone from an Vizagian background-- But, that person has to be someone who is very good at Latin language.", Boss said.
"Well, This is getting more and more interesting now.", I stood up.
"Are you leaving?", Boss asked; handing me my Pda.
"Ye, I have to meet Niloy to bring me some stuff from home. It might change the way we are thinking about the book right now.", I answered.
"As you wish. If this book is really a problematic thing-- you must hurry on whatever you are doing on it.", He said; thinking about something.
"I understand."
