Battling the realm of portals and gateways
Twin full moons lit the cloudy night sky in the Nether Dimension, five hundred light years from Earth one. An advanced race called Kantonians inhabited the land. Their culture was purely based on a caste system. Depending on your bloodline you lived where your kind lived. They ruled under an old monarch system. The rich only married the rich, while the lower and middle class worked hard to change their status which soon proved futile once your blood was tested for purity.
The monarch system granted ten families every fifty years who managed to attain riches and better help grow the empire full pardon for the blood relations. That generation thanks to the hard work and dedication would go through the purification cycle of cleansing their blood of any poor or middle class impurities that may infect the wealthy. Thus their blood would require eating and drinking certain foods rich in Aurum gold, otherwise called gold vitamins and minerals. After twenty five years of purification, their blood would be tested once more. Once the monarch system was satisfied that they had been cleansed, they were allowed to intermarry with the wealthy, ensuring that their offspring would be purebloods.
The Kanton atmosphere was similar to earth one, soon defying gravity and logic of science humans try to assimilate by flying in planes. Kantonesians traveled using portals for most of their travels. If it's to another galaxy then they would need to take their ships. Some higher ups were able to fly or portal to any location, no matter the distance. But this was only gifted to the Monarch family whose rare bloodline was given the power to do more than the rest of their people. Kanton was also called Baryelan in ancient times before they grew advanced in science. As they grew in knowledge, they evolved and soon they created a new name and new caste system.
The planet became a technologically advanced civilization, royal bloodlines ruling was getting to be a thing of the past. Now a new government system was in place. Theocracies which meant the country was now ruled by a Bishop, chosen by the people from priesthood bloodline called the Levites.
The Levites or Leviathans were immortals separated from the populous from birth and raised in the church to serve God. Anyone born in this bloodline had no choice but to serve God for at least a millennium then may join the army or upper society of the social hierarchy ladder. But they must never break any of their sacred vows. The head of the Levites made sure they blessed all the things each society offered. Nothing was eaten; no instrument was used unless blessed by God. They believe this is why they are a supreme race and victorious in battle.
In ancient times before a rebellion brought down the monarch system, which had emperors, kings and queens or princesses or princesses as their rulers. That changed when the last of the Aurum royal bloodline, Queen Lahti and her son prince Caleb were hunted and killed for their unique blood that when spilled turned to gold. It was said that anyone drinking their blood would become even more powerful than God.
Queen Lahti had secretly given birth to a second son she hid from the king and her maid servants. She was strong and beautiful and with that inner strength she alone with her most trusted guards delivered her son. She decided to give him to be raised to her most trusted and loyal bodyguard Peter Larkin. He was tasked to raise her son as his own in the Larkin bloodline. They were a proud set of people, noble and fierce warriors to contend with, who now followed the ruling of the Theocracies.
As time moved on the Kantonians were divided into six types of societies, Bishop and religious leaders, generals and their Armies, Upper class, Middle class, Lower class and the Mondolians. The lower class ensured the streets, buildings and homes of Bishops, religious rulers, the middle, and upper class were clean including their own homes..
The middle class ensured that foods were cultivated and shared for all except for the Mondolians.
The upper class ensured that technologies built helped advance their reach to other worlds and to ensure that each societal group were given the latest technology to complete their jobs, thus making life easier for all.
The Army were of immortal soldiers that were divided into two groups, the Royals and Imperials. The Royals were specially gifted soldiers which were selected to protect their way of life by policing and enforcing the laws that were given by the Bishop. The Imperials went to various galaxies conquering and closing the portals or gateways evil forces used. The gateways and portals were used to enslave the people of other worlds creating more fallen souls, growing the Mondolian kingdom, by tricking its people into giving up their freedom and rights as an individual to be mindless drones in his army of fallen angels.
The generals often delegate tasks to various soldiers, asking them and their family to live among the people it is sent to protect and ensure that the intel they receive is accurate and actionable to complete by themselves or with help from other teams.
The Bishop - which receives the word from God, then delegates to the army generals and people how to advance and destroy the evil that threatens to take over their world and others that they protect. The Bishop also advises them of their consequence should they fail and their power used for evil will raise more evil warriors that will control all the different worlds and galaxies that exist in and out of their time periods.
The Bishop is also mandated to renew hope and strength in the soldiers, spread God's grace and mercy to other territories, saving worlds from their savage rulers and ensuring that the world is not ruled by evil forces that corrupts and causes destruction to family and friends.
The Mondolians were given the name after the first immortal fell from grace. He and his followers murdered the last of the royal bloodlines or so they thought. Mondola was sent to the furthest depths of Kanton known as purgatory to be enslaved by the devil. The devil, seeing the potential of Mondola, raised him in stature and power to be the ruler of the portals and gateways to hell. He then made it his duty to spread his tyranny.
The Kantonians were constantly fighting a never ending battle between them and the prince of darkness Mondola and his legions of demons; who spread and infected every dimension with his malignant spirits, causing more mischief, terror and death.
Immortals considered themselves the extension of God's hands and feet. They were seven feet in height, their skin was soft as silk, yet hard as diamond. It was hard to kill an immortal, but not impossible. They were similar to humans in the makeup of the body; except for those of the royal bloodline whose blood, if spilled, gold ichor would spill from their veins. Mondola wanted to create his own army of immortals and sought to capture anyone of this rare blood type as he was not convinced he killed and drained the last of its kind.
It was said that the immortals were above corruption as they constantly communicated with God through the intervention of their Bishop which kept the whispering evil spirits at bay. While it is said immortals can never fall prey to Mondolas' demons, there were some who tried to play both sides of the field and were cast out of the Neither Dimension into the one place no one wanted to go, Earth one.
It was said that hell is located at the centre of the earth. Hell was said to shape like a giant human, complete with two feet, two hands, the belly, the neck, the head, eyes and ears. They say when you die and go to hell, you still have all your senses intact. Can you imagine being on fire over and over with worms crawling around and into your system? The thirst and cravings that never goes away, the pain, the constant inflict of pain by the demons that stand guard over you; laughing as you arrive and escorting you to your permanent holding. These are the stories our descendants pass on for generations, instilling fear into the next generation, hoping that they will not become victims to Mondola and his demon hordes.
There are some who believe heaven and hell is not real, only stories to lead the massies and control their true nature or inhibitions. I can only tell you what I hear and hope I never find out the truth. Allow me to introduce myself and tell you of my family life and our adventures through this galaxy. But before I tell you my name, allow me to tell you my family traveling tale.
My family, the Larkin warriors pride themselves on being victorious in everything we do. Our coat of arms were embellished on our armour, helmet, swords and shields, which were blessed by God and have proven to be a lifesaver through many battles, and other immortal interactions throughout the millennium. It was my family's mandate to defend each dimension from Mondola and his hellion and close the portals and gateways to hell.
Over the years, my family moved from one dimension to the next, becoming more victorious than others of our kind; This caused jealousy in the ranks of our people, as our victories increased, dark forces conspired against us, taking us by surprise.
My father's friend, Linos had invited the family out for a victory celebration and to bid us farewell as we made ready to leap to another dimension, to continue the good fight of faith. We were greeted with the rich scent of food, meats of all assorts, fruits, fine wine, live music and dancing to move you into high spirits until you had to leave for home.
My older sister, Khalisa was a fierce warrior, very competitive with her boyfriend, Joren. It was nice to see them dancing and laughing sharing one last meal before they said their goodbyes. The party went on for hours until it was time to go home.
They said their last goodbyes and gave hugs to close family and friends, after all, no one knew when or if they would see each other again. They drove from the venue early in the morning and noticed thick black smoke filling the sky. As they got closer the air became unbreathable. They pulled up to the rubble of their three story home. The early morning sky filled with black clouds polluting the once crystal clean air that was there hours ago.
My family was shocked and devastated to arrive home and see charred walls as the wind carried the smoke and ashes over the pile of rubble that now laid before them.
"Where are Benara and Drako?" My mother screamed as she searched for their youngest son and his babysitter.
"Check the woods," she yelled to my older siblings as they searched the scorched hill-side for any sign of them.
My father searched for our armour and weapons as those could not be so easily destroyed. He searched high and low and found no sign of them among the pile of rubble that now stood in place of our home.
"Who could have destroyed our home, taken our son, weapons and armour?" My father asked aloud as he and mother, along with my siblings continued searching through the remains of our home in the Neither Dimension.
"At least they could have left our baby brother and our swords so that we could protect those in our charge," my sister said; but they were left vulnerable to the powers that they fought against.
Most of my family's belongings had been burnt to ashes, including items packed for the trip to Earth one. All that remained was the pain of losing our younger brother, Drako and our family's nanny, Benara and our artillery.
***
Benara, a nurse maiden from birth, was born in the royal palace. Her father a prince and her mother a seer born from the lower class was forbidden to have children with the monarch. She was raised among the princes and princesses of the Kantonians and learnt how to read and write and fight. As she grew older she found out she could see things before they happened and managed to survive five millenniums through her visions. Benara was given to the Larkin bloodline as a nurse maiden by the monarch family and proved herself useful to her new family. What she lacked in feness as she often spoke her mind and would sometimes be punished for her brash way of speaking to people in authority, she made up in her skills and knowledge of the enemy and so was always kept around from generation to generation.
Benara was older than father; he inherited her from his father before he was killed in the great rebellion battle. My father had nothing of his father's lineage or heirloom to pass on to his children as everything was taken away from him in one night or so he thought.
