Chapter 10: ch-10 -I'm just busy!-
Kevin was busily working on the past month's accountancy and as he scribbled away on a huge piece of parchment, he said "Hey Mr.Whisker, bring Koby here. I want to know what he learned yesterday and if things are going well, Cindy must be teaching him now."
Whisker simply nodded. "Okay, Lord Kevin."
Whisker opened the huge door and walked out. He took out an antique pocket watch and pressed a button on the top of it, with his thumb and the lid clicked open. Showing him a short brass arrow pointing at the seven and the long arrow was pointing at the one. He clicked the lid back in place and kept walking towards the stairs but he sped up suddenly.
He was already in the main corridor of the first floor in about two seconds. He didn't need to run anymore to find the source of the *ding* sound he had heard as Cindy ran out of Koby's room in a hurry and closed the door behind her. Whisker saw the back of her uniform getting red and narrowed his eyes as anger took over his mind. His eyes turned cloudy green and in a fraction of a second he was beside Cindy. He lifted his left hand and released an overwhelming gust of wind. The result of this action didn't matter to him as he carried Cindy back to Kevin's study room.

[At the same time in Kevin's room]
Kevin had heard the sound and felt Mr.Whisker's mana release 'What the hell just happened....' But Kevin didn't have to wait, as Mr.Whisker entered the room with Cindy in his arms. Blood was dripping down her head as she was being princess carried by the butler. Whisker didn't say anything as he opened the drawer that contained potions and took out a bottle filled with light \ sky blue colored liquid. Kevin stood up from his chair in anger "WHO GAVE YOU THE PERMISSION TO USE MY PROPERTY!!!???"
Mr.Whisker just opened the bottle's lid and and brought the opening of the bottle towards Cindy's lips and looked at her and said "Drink it."
Cindy gulped it all down as she saw Kevin walking towards them with a fist covered with bright red flames. But before Kevin could do anything, Whisker asked, "How much did you buy Cindy for?"
"ONE GOLD COIN!!" Kevin said as he threw a punch at Mr. Whisker with his flaming fist. Whisker just gave Kevin a disappointed look as he got a spell ready with his hands behind his back and just before Kevin's punch reached him, he hit Kevin on his stomach with a palm and moved his head slightly towards the right as he dodged the punch. Whisker whispered "Wind blast" as his eyes turned cloudy green again as Kevin was bashed against the wall with the sheer amount of wind force.
"Do you know about the slave rights Kevin?" Whisker asked with a stoic face as he looked at Kevin. He had his stomach caved in and a few ribs were broken. When he heard what Mr. Whisker said, he didn't feel any pain. The only thing you could see on his face was fear.
Whisker smiled as he saw Kevin's change in expression. He turned back towards Cindy and checked her wound and after assuring that she had healed , he turned towards Kevin "I'll be taking Cindy to the royal court."
"NO. Wait, we should sort this by ourselves. I don't even know what happened. I'll even forget about the high grade healing potion."
"We can….. talk. But not here." Whisker said with a smile.

Victor woke up, only to find Cindy entering his room. "Where did you go?" he asked
"Master Victor, You are asked to come to Mr.Kevin's room immediately."
'hmm….Mr.Kevin? something happened…..' Victor was in a bad mood and didn't want to get involved in some drama right now. Although he had reincarnated many times , he had a feeling deep inside that Alice was the only one who truly loved him. Seeing her die and his daughter killing him to be with her mother's murderer was something that really ticked him off. He wanted to scream and bash things to vent his anger but he knew that he had to act normal.
"Okay. Let's go." He said as he jumped out of his bed and walked past her in a grumpy mood. From the corner of his eye, he noticed a red colored patch at the back of her neck. He sniffed. 'blood…..fresh blood.' But he didn't say anything as he had a feeling that he will get the answer to his question soon enough and if he doesn't, he will just ask Cindy directly.
They walked at a brisk pace and entered Kevin's room. Victor saw his mother crying, Koby was staring at the floor, Whisker and Kevin were looking at Koby. "Ahh Master Victor. Please come in." Whisker said as he smiled.
Victor looked at his father and said "What happened?"
"We will be going back to the main family. Your grandfather will send someone else take care of this city."
"I asked what happened dad. I want the reason why we are moving back."
"Well…. I failed the test that your grandfather gave me so we will be going back. Mr.Whisker here is not actually our butler but a trusted worker under your grandfather."
"Hmmmm…. So let me guess. Koby injured Cindy because of jealousy or humiliation and something happened. Due to this you broke some rule maybe... Or you probably tried to attack uncle Whisker and got punched on the face. Tell me what happened father."
*clap* *clap* *clap* "Well done, Master Victor, you gave me what I expected from you. Both of your guesses are right. Koby attacked a slave and your father attacked me, a direct subordinate of Lord Higaraki Lee." Whisker said as he took out a watch that was completely different from the watch he had previously used. The lid of the watch had an engraving of a roaring lion. "This is a watch that is given to the members of high position in the family." Whisker says proudly.
"So….. I won't be able to join the hunters squad?" Victor asked as that would throw most of his plans in drain.
"That will be decided by father" Kevin says.
"Okay…. But why was I called here? Can't you just send someone to tell me the news?"
Upon hearing Victor, The old man Whisker took out two parchments and placed them on Kevin's table "Here, Sign these slave contracts and those two kids will be yours. If you don't , we will just have to take your father to the royal court for breaking terms and conditions of the contract."
Victor just looked at Kevin and he knew that both Cindy and Bull were under Kevin's name. Kevin gave him a gloomy nod. After getting the yes from Kevin, he read the contract. There was actually only two lines.
1) The slaves will belong to Victor Lee, the son of Kevin Lee from the moment he signs the contract. The ownership will be transferred from Kevin lee to Victor lee.
2) The owners are forbidden to inflict physical harm upon their contracted slaves.
"Where is my father's sign?" Victor asked as he didn't find anything other than those two lines.
"Your father used his magic imprint." Whisker said before Kevin could open his mouth.
Victor nods and drops a bit of blood on the parchment after he pricked his thumb. The signatures in this world weren't don't by ink as forgeries were easy and unnoticeable with the help of magic and even thumb imprints were easy to copy. So, blood was recognized as one of the cheapest alternatives and magic contracts were stronger with blood as the sign of approval.
"Alright. Pack your things. Only important ones as we will be leaving tomorrow morning. And you need to keep your son under control, Kevin." Whisker says as he walks out of the room.
"Kevin. I don't want to go back to the main house." Jane said for the first time.
"I can't help it Jane. We should go back. I know that you don't like the competitive environment there but we should go there. Koby, your grandfather doesn't like anything that affects our Lee family the bad way. So, be prepared for a harsh punishment. Victor….you did a good job. Gaining the approval of one of the subordinates will help you a lot when you get there."
"Thank you , father. I'll go shopping as today is the last day we will be staying here."
Victor walked back to his room with Cindy. When they were inside he looked at her for a few seconds and said "Clean yourself with magic first."
"Yes master." Cindy says and after a few seconds she had a small red ball of liquid floating beside her.
"Throw that in the toilets. After that, go out and buy me some masks. Wear some normal clothes and take off that maid uniform before you go. Oh yeah, try to buy from a crowded shop."
"Okay master." Cindy replies and walks out of the room.
"SEND BULL TO MY ROOM BEFORE YOU GO." Victor shouts as he remembered that even bull is under him.
'I'm too busy to go there. I'm not lazy, not lazy at all. '
