Chapter 3: Last Hope
"Father".
Hearing the voice of his son a small smile appeared on Dave's face. Dave came close to his son and kindly caressed his son's face. Seeing his son laying there motionless made his heartache.
"There is nothing to worry about, now that father is here I will take care of everything. Here is the medical pill as soon as you eat this you will be back to normal." Dave Devan gave the medical pill to his son.
Alex took the pill without any objection. As soon as Alex took the pill he felt a warm sensation spreading throughout his body. Soon he felt that his body temperature began to rise, Just when he felt that his body is about to melt soon his body started to cool down and soon returned to normal. Alex was soon able to feel his body.
It took only a few moments for Alex to get back to normal. Alex slowly stood up on the bed and started stretching his arms and legs to feel the muscles. He was shocked by the effectiveness of the medicine.

Seeing the appearance of his Dave inwardly chuckled. Then he raised his head and rubbed the head of Alex and said.
"You have grown up a lot in this past year. I won't ask how you got the forbidden pill. All I wanted to know is that why you took the pill even after knowing the terrible side effects of the pill?."
Hearing his father's question, Alex thought for a second and soon replied with a serious expression.
"I was desperate. When everyone said that I can't learn martial arts and become a cultivator because of broken soul deficiency, only my father said as long as one worked hard then they will be rewarded. So I have been training since childhood, but there was never been an improvement. Soon a frown appeared on Dave's face, he quickly looked at Alex and said "Alex, generally using this pill you had 50% chance to step into the essence gathering realm, but now you have suffered from side effects of the forbidden pill. So the chance for you to step into the Essence Gathering realm should be less than 10%."
Seeing the serious expression on his father made him conclude that the ancient pill may be real. Soon, Alex had a resolute expression said.
"Dad let me try it, I firmly believe that I can become a cultivator. So to me, the chance of stepping into the Essence Gathering realm is not 10% it's 100%.
When Alex spoke these words the star mark in his right hand suddenly started to shine.
