Chapter 45: 44. ‘All Alone’
Sophia sat near the bed; holding Lillian's hand for a long while before she finally mustered up some courage.
"Mother…"
Her voice was very soft and barely audible. Even in the rather quiet ICU, her voice was so soft that even a pin drop couldn't compare. When one heard that voice they would have the urge to hold the person and tell them that everything was alright.
Alas, she was all alone in this world.
Her mother was no longer living in this world and her father…
Her father, he… he killed her.
There was no one to call her family in this world.
Come to think of it, how could she have someone to call her family when she wasn't even 'alive.'
Sophia Harper…
Sophia Harper was dead.
She died in a 'suicidal' fire on April 24 a day before her step-sisters' wedding.
Right now, she is only Luna Grey.
Lillian and Rohan were Luna's family, not hers.
Even if she could call them her own, it wouldn't be now because right now, she was but an invader inside of Luna's body.
Sophia looked up and saw no changes in the monitor. It would be a long while before she would wake up again so Sophia slowly put down Lillian's hand and left.
If one paid attention to her single silhouette, they would've felt the silent loneliness that she just couldn't muster up the energy to hide.
Sophia jogged back to the parking lot and hopped onto the motorbike before making her way towards Rohan.
The short jog and ride on her motorbike calmed her down. By the time she reached the hospital, the cold air around her had returned.
Since Rohan didn't want Luna visiting him, Sophia had it easy. She just stood outside his room watching him.
Inside the room, Rohan had his seat at 45 degrees. His left hand lay at his side with a IV drip connected to his hand. His right hand was slightly raised in front of him as he stared at it.
He kept turning his hand and watching it as though it was an object that needed observing.
After a while, he simply dropped his right hand as though it had no energy left and turned his head to stare out the window.
Being in the corner of the room near the end of the block, the view was of the intersection. With his room on the third floor, he was able to watch people come and go as the lights changed.
He just stared out the window while Sophia who was outside the room stared at him.
After a while, Sophia left.
Rohan was doing fine.
Besides his mental health being a little on the weaker side and being a bit more vulnerable to breaking down, he was truly fine.
He just needed to rest up and let his wounds heal. If he stays on the drip for another 24 hours and avoids anything that could trigger his trauma, he would be back to his normal self.
She had over 3 million in her bank account so under the pretext of finding a new job that pays more, she could take care of both Lillian and Rohan.
She could also have Rohan stop working to focus on his health and future and take care of Lillian.
As for the Grey family, well their end was near…
Very near.
Thinking of the Grey family, Sophia looked up the news for the day. When she saw the one ranking first for the day, a slight smile broke out on her lips.
'Five Brothers Corp holding a press conference to expose the dirty Grey Corporation.'
Oh the blatant threat…
Usually business enemies would use subtle language to hint towards the ruin of others but Five Brothers Corp wasn't doing that. Did that mean they had irrefutable evidence towards them?
The ruin of Grey Corp was a guarantee?
If not, then the Five Brothers Corporation was willing to become the enemy of Grey Corporation in front of the world…
No matter what the end result of the press conference is, both companies would face some serious damage at the end to see that what happened live was going to be a one in a lifetime opportunity.
Most of the bankruptcies that happen are usually reported after the first hit but this one…

To know that either one of the companies would go bankrupt at the end of it all made this conference even better!
Could life get any better?
The conference was to start at 11 AM and all news channels big and small were invited to the venue. The conference was going to go live on many different news channels throughout the day.
This was a last minute arrangement by Five Brothers Corp but people all throughout the country were talking about this news conference.
Many were waiting to see the ruin of Grey Corporation while others were expecting to see the Five Brothers Corp come to a ruin.
After all, if taking down the Grey Corporation was so easy, would they have waited for so long to get this done?
Besides, people in the business world, regular citizens were also riled up about this press conference.
It was currently a quarter past ten. The conference venue was at a five-star hotel near the city center in District 31.
From her current location, it was roughly 80 miles away.
Since she had nothing better at the moment, Sophia decided to head off to the venue.
Along the way she slowed down many times to watch the green and beautiful scenery lining the highway. Oftentimes, she would also carefully observe changes within the highway.
Changes like the increase in driving limit or how fast everything else was going and how fast they could go.
Many things had changed within four years…
Fifteen minutes before the press conference, Sophia had entered a cafe right in front of the Saffron Chasm Hotel.
KL had booked her a table with the best view of the venue and the area around it.
Well, second best.
Someone had booked the private table right next to hers.
The table and view was still the best but with someone sitting right next to her table, the rating just took a drop from her.
Sitting down, Sophia ordered herself a matcha latte before casually gazing out the window.
Roughly five minutes before the start of the interview, a car reached the venue.
Well, multiple cars.
It was a black BMW belonging to Mr. Kinnely, surrounded by four SUVs. Two in the front and two in the back.
It was a very grand entrance hence the reporters on site that had already started streaming were flashing their cameras towards the BMW to catch the person inside.
Due to the grand entrance of the CEO of Five Brothers Corp, people had failed to notice the very subtly luxurious car that had pulled up in front of the cafe right in front.
From that car, a tall man dressed in a fine custom made black suit that fit his body perfectly, walked out. His ocean blue eyes scanned his surroundings lightly as he buttoned up his blazer and walked inside.
Except the few waiters and people who had nothing better to do but focus their attention inside the cafe.
