Chapter 57: Uneasy

Placing his hand on his hips, Ivan scoffed, "What makes you think that trick will work on me?"

Slumping on the couch, Athan sighed, "Okay fine, don't go. Guess I'll have to spend the entire weekend in my apartment all alone."

Helplessly shaking his head, he suggested, "Just take Jason with you—"

Cutting him off, Athan snapped, "Jason is not my best friend, you are."

Crossing his arms in the front, Ivan raised his brows. "You already asked him, didn't you?"

Clasping his hands together, he lowered his head and pleaded. "Please Ivan, please go clubbing with me tonight. I really want to chill and have fun with you."

Left with no other choice, Ivan finally agreed. "Fine but you are paying."

"Alright, I will pay for everything and even drive you there."

"Okay." Even though Ivan didn't want to go, he really didn't want to upset Athan who was very excited about the Saturday night clubbing. It's not like Ivan didn't like partying, he wasn't just in a mood for it.

Blowing a kiss at him, Athan grinned, "I love you bro, only if we were not straight, I would definitely marry you." Grabbing his coat, he added, "I will pick you at nine." Before walking out of the apartment.

Helplessly shaking his head, Ivan sighed. He then grabbed his phone and contemplated for a while before calling Amber.

When she called him last night, he felt something was wrong even though she said everything was fine. He could feel the anxiousness in her voice which made him feel very uneasy. He wanted to call her last night but since it was too late, he decided not to.

As the call was about to go through, he heard a loud 'BANG' downstairs.

Hanging up the call, he quickly rushed downstairs and followed the sound to the kitchen.

Kitchen.

Looking at the broken cookie jar on the floor and the two people who were busy cleaning it, Ivan crossed his arms in the front. "What the hell is going on here?"

Gulping in nervousness, Dylon quickly got up. "We will clean it."

"Get up and step aside, leave it the way it is. I'll ask the helper to clean it later," Ivan instructed before gesturing them to follow him outside.

Gritting his teeth, Rylon glared at his brother. "This is all your fault, I told you stealing the cookies was a bad idea."

"As if you didn't wanna have them," the other one scoffed.

"So now what do we tell him?"

"I don't know, maybe we should tell him the truth."

"But Rachael and Jason told everyone not to, what if—"

Cutting Rylon off, Dylon remarked, "Listen, we can't hide anything from Ivan, okay? Even though he is a human, he is still a major part of the family. What if something happens to him and—"

"What happened?" Walking towards them, Ivan frowned, "Did something happen back home?" When the twins looked at each other, he snapped, "Stop looking at each other and tell me what happened."
