Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Poisoned Baron
Reif stared at the man that looks as if he was betting everything on Reif. The man's clothing looks expensive and he also has a bearing of a Noble
With Reif's experiences, he knew that the young man a bit older than him seems to come from a Noble Family

The man understood what Reif meant and answered. "One month. We will wait for at least a month. We actually entered this swamp to experiment. I have some knowledge about potion making and I'm trying to make the antidote myself" the man said honestly
"What's the poison name?"
"W-we actually don't know, that's why I planned on making different antidotes. Here's a sample of my brother's blood, he was the one that is poisoned"
The way he explained things was filled with helplessness. If they at least know what kind of poison was used, they would be able to find the cure easier
Even if they are not the strongest Noble, they are at least a Nobility. They are well off compared to commoners and they can buy antidotes. But without knowing the poison, they can only try using different antidotes

The group of three people immediately exited the swamp where a carriage was waiting for them. They didn't waste any time and they head back to the Hanga Town, the same town that Reif entered before
Along the way, Reif finally learned the name of the two. The man is Lance and the girl is Seph. Their older brother that was poisoned is the Baron that owned the Hanga Town itself named Ram

The traveling time that took a week for Reif was finished in a duration of just a few days
Riding a carriage really cut the traveling time by a lot. As soon as the carriage that has the emblem of the Anza Family arrives, the town guard didn't even dare stop them
They let the carriage enter the town without any difficulty and they immediately head back to the Anza Family Manor
When they arrive, Reif saw acres of land that were used to breed and raise farm animals. It was one of the ways that the Anza family earned their income
It was filled with farm animals and the people taking care of them. The road was quite in a good condition and was properly maintained
Just from this alone, Reif can already judge that this Baron Family was quite competent. If it was another countryside small Baron, even their territory might not be this good and neat
The workers don't look like they were mistreated as they were diligently doing their work
From afar, Reif saw a two-story manor. It was not that too big but it was properly maintained
It looks clean and wasn't a rundown manor that some countryside Nobles have
What attracted Reif's eyes was the tight security around the Manor. There were guards scattered here and there as if they were expecting an attack
From how the Baron was poisoned, Reif already guessed that there is more to it than simple poisoning. But it doesn't matter, he is here simply for the benefits and it's not like he has deep ties towards this family
If the situation turned too dangerous, he would simply flee
The carriage stops in front of the Manor and the pair of sibling anxiously exited the carriage

They just feared that Reif really have the ability to heal their brother but decided not to because of their attitude

"Young Master, Young Miss, have you found an antidote for Lord Baron?" The what it looks like the butler of this house asked anxiously causing the brother and sister to shot Reif a look
If they didn't see Reif drinking their brother's blood, they would really not believe that he can help them
However, they can only risk it. Lance is just a 3rd circle mage, how can it be easy for him to make the antidote for an unknown poison that even a 5th circle mage cannot purge out of his body?
Not to mention, if there is really a cure, the ingredients might consist of things that they can't afford or hunt
Even Lance doesn't have confidence since he only has a short time finding the cure
When the two look at Reif, the butler can't help but knit his brows. Are they putting the life of the Baron to such a young kid?
"Masters, y-you can't possibly mean..." the Butler didn't even need to continue his words as the two already understood what he meant
Lance let out an awkward cough before explaining their reasoning. "H-he drank Brother's blood and he was still completely fine"
The butler was still unconvinced though. There were really people that are immune to poison to some extent. It's amazing if Reif has that kind of body. But it doesn't mean they also have a way to cure others of their poison
"Let's just let him try. If he can't, I will immediately head back to the swamp for the antidote" Lance continued after seeing the doubts of the Butler
"Young Lad, if you really have a way to heal the Baron, we will be eternally grateful to you. But if not, you wasted the little time that we have" the Butler said with firmness
Reif naturally understands the butler's attitude. He greatly valued the Baron's life and it was not easy to believe that such a young kid can cure the poison

"N-now, now. L-let's calm down first. We should just see Brother and do something about his condition first" Lance said trying to lighten up the mood
