Chapter 83: You care for him...

"Come on, let's go inside." My dad whispered in my ear, pressing a kiss on my hair.

I turned and looked at the drops of blood over the grass. Swallowing nausea that came up to my throat, I entered the house. My dad left to go upstairs while I followed the chatters that were coming from the kitchen. I saw a shirtless Drake sitting on the counter, and Martha handed him a bottle of water.

Drake gulped it down as Martha wrapped gauze around his stomach. I could see the tiny cuts on his stomach, but it was nothing as fatal as the large bruise forming on his side. Avery looked at his lip and nose as Ari looked at his back, inspecting any cuts and bruises on his back. His cheek was swelling up like a balloon.

"He didn't break your nose, that's for sure," Martha murmured. 

"How do you know?" Avery asked.
