Chapter 16: Hinata Higurashi
Terror gripped Hinata Higurashi's heart, 'Where am I?' she thought as she glanced around.
Suddenly a whirring sound reverberated through the space and she instinctively spun around a leg aimed at the origin of the sound.
But the kick was stopped by a hand, her eyes widened as she gazed at the small girl.
Stumbling backwards she tried begging for her life but was stopped as the girl leaned forward and laid her index finger on Hinata's lips.
"I'm speaking now," she said in a calm, almost creepy voice, all the while smiling.
A shiver ran up Hinata's spine as she gazed into the girl's pitch-black eyes that seemed to absorb the light from around them.
Removing her finger from Hinata's lips, the girl walked over to sit down next to her, all the while Hinata kept breathing shallowly.
Sitting down in the seiza position the girl looked over at Hinata and motioned to her lap, and in a calm harmonious voice ordered, "Lie down!"
Swallowing the knot that had built up in her throat she did as told and led down but kept her head hovering above the girl's lap as not to offend her in any way.b
Her heart plummeted as she saw the girl place her hand on her forehead, expecting the worst öshe closed her eyes.
But the pain she expected never came, instead, she felt her head being pushed down so it would rest on the warm bare legs of the girl.
Opening her eyes she looked straight into a pair of black ones, they stayed like that for several minutes until the girl spoke, "Tell me your name!"
Opening her dry mouth she whispered out, "Hinata Higurashi".
The girl smiled, "A good name, compared to me you have been blessed, you see my name is Hannya Shigaraki, a mourning demon, fitting don't you think."
She felt a pang of guilt at Hannya's words, "Your name it's so beautiful, so much light and warmth."
Moving her hand backwards Hannya started stroking Hinnata's hair, "How did it feel… losing your friends?" she asked, her voice as calm as before.
"Terrible," she whispered out, tears forming at the corners of her eyes at the memory of her friends being obliterated in a single attack.
"Did it hurt? Did you feel pain?"
Taking in a shaky breath she nodded, "Yes,"
A small smile appeared on Hannya's face, "So, would you say that that made you want to hurt others to make them feel the same pain."
Hinata's eyes darted between the two now bloodred eyes staring down at her, mind racing she tried to think of the right answer, she was about to answer with yes since she had already hurt the girl.
But she changed her mind at the last second, "No, no one except for All for One's loved ones."
Closing her eyes Hannya stopped stroking Hinata's head, feeling the repetitive movement halt, Hinata stiffened.
What would happen to her now, would the girl kill her would she torture her as she herself had been.
"I see…" she paused for a few seconds in which Hinata's panic-stricken heart began to beat even faster.
"If you had the power to stop all the war and conflict in the world… would you do it?"
This time she didn't have to think about it since she had reminisced about the subject on many occasions, "Yes,".
Hannya's smile widened, distorting her facial scars, "Good, then will you join me in the quest to make a better world."
Hinata's eyes filled with tears that started running down the sides of her head and onto Hannya's thighs, "Yes, yes,"
A light chuckled passed between Hannya's lips as he said, "Should we go then?"
Nodding vigorously she tried to sit up but was stopped by Hannya's hand.
Knowing what would happen next she prepared herself for the twisting feeling.
A whirring feeling as before filled the space and they vanished only to reappear in the warehouse.
The first thing they heard when they appeared were the sounds of boots on concrete and people shouting.
"THERE," shouted somebody and the next thing Hinata knew everybody in the warehouse had a gun aimed at Hannya.
"Move away from her.", said a familiar voice, looking over she saw Ikeda, he had his gun pointed straight at Hannya's head.
"NO, DON'T SHOOT!" she exclaimed as she sat up and wrapped her arms around Hannya to protect her.
'I can't let them kill her, she pulled me out of the deep wrathful hole I had fallen into and showed me the light.'
"DON'T YOU DARE HURT HER!" SHe shouted angrily.
A frown appeared on Ikeda's face, "STOP PLAYING AROUND AND MOVE!"
"NO, SHE HELPED ME AND SHOWED ME THE TRUTH. SHE TOLD ME HER DREAM AND I'LL HELP HER ACHIEVE IT!"
Just at that moment, Hannya disappeared from under her looking down she saw that she was gone.
Her face split in a smile as she looked around to see where she had gone.
Suddenly one of the gang members dropped to the floor and another and another, till there were only half of them left, nobody had seen what happened they only saw a flash of something and the person fell.
