Chapter 67: Friendly Advice

It was snowing heavily outside.

Su Yeon and her friends went to visit a new café which was suggested by Gong Zhen. Since it was evening time and the weather outside was freezing cold, the café got crowded in no time. Su Yeon stumbled in between but before Kim Jin would hold her, someone had already done it.

"Be careful, little one," Wang Lufan chuckled. "Brother Lufan!" Su Yeon exclaimed.

While everyone was busy taking seats, Kim Jin was caught in a small dilemma. He wanted to stay behind with Su Yeon but it would have looked weird. Even if he followed everyone, his whole attention was on Su Yeon. 'Calm down, calm down, wait for her. He might be some cousin of her, don't worry,' Jin was convincing himself.

"You seem free today," Su Yeon asked. She knew how Lufan always gets busy due to tons of surgeries. "Hmm, our board exams are coming up, so we have been given a three-month leave," Wang Lufan answered with a somewhat dull face.

"That's great then! Why don't you shift into our house instead of living alone? You wouldn't get time to take care of yourself while studying. Even my exams would also be there so there will be a pin drop silence," Su Yeon suggested with an exciting face. She caught the little sorrow on his face.

Lufan gave a weak smile, "Umm, I would love to, but I can't. I am returning to City K tomorrow itself as-"

"I know, I can understand. Help uncle Wang as fast as possible and rush back here! Should I call Uncle?" Su Yeon tried to cheer him.

Wang Lufan chuckled and ruffled her hair, "No need, I will try my best to finish all the meetings and work as soon as possible."

"Are you done with packing? Should I come over to help you?"

"Do you know how to fold clothes properly? I don't think so,"

"Brother Lufan! Well… I can at least help you in some sundry work"

"No need, everything is done. Do you want any souvenirs?"

"Yes, a big basket of green grapes from your farm!"

Wang Lufan laughed and nodded. He hugged her and bid farewell.

When Su Yeon returned to their table, she could see everyone's perked-up ears. Gu Lan started, "Care to explain?"

Su Yeon smiled and shook her head, "it's not what you people are thinking. He was Brother Lufan-" Gu Lan interrupted, "Seems very close, cousin or… perhaps childhood sweethearts?" Su Yeon pursed her lips, "Well, not cousin but family friends. He is like an elder brother to me, I mean, I would love to have an elder sibling like him!"

Everyone started talking to each other suddenly as if they didn't get what they wanted.

While driving back to the house, Kim Jin's heart went back to its place which came almost in its throat earlier. He praised inwardly, 'Old man, you were right, I really need to have patience. Thank god I didn't stay there and make the situation more awkward. I will listen to your advice, I will approach her with a patient and sincere heart… slowly, she will definitely accept my feelings then.'

He remembered the friendly advice given by an old man in the park.

.

A few days ago, he was having a walk in the park while thinking about his life. He was feeling a bit lonely that day. He sat on a bench and got busy looking at the people. While looking at their happy faces, subconsciously he imagined himself and Su Yeon like that.

While looking at the young couple, he imagined himself with her, watching the evening sky and talking about their future…

When he saw a married couple walking hand in hand, he imagined his married life with her…

When he saw a family with their small kids, he imagined their life after a few years of marriage. He shook his head, 'No, instead of having three kids like them, we will have only one girl who will be the exact replica of her mother, the little version of Su Yeon…'

A very sweet smile appeared on his face when he was thinking about it. Just then, his train of thoughts was disturbed by an old voice, "You will definitely live those moments with your loved one my child."

He looked aside and saw an old man probably in his late sixties. The smoky grey color of his hair was like the representation of his experience of life. With a weak smile, he replied, "I don't think so. She… she never looked at me the way I look at her."

The old man caressed his wooden stick and hummed, "You never know! One thing is clear, the key to unlock your dreams is 'Patience'," he looked at him and continued, "That day I saw how you got frustrated when you saw her with another guy. With one glance, I knew that stranger didn't see her as a woman, but I forgot to stop you. From then I always wanted to meet you and warn you not to do the mistake done by someone I knew."

He asked with a confused face, "What mistake?"

The old man replied while patting his hand, "Not trusting your partner and being impatient. Tell me honestly, you confessed to her without knowing her feelings about you, right?"

He thought about it and nodded. The old man continued, "Well then I would like to tell you one of my friends' story, can I?"

"Of course!"

The old man looked at the married couple and started, "My friend used to like a girl for very long, that bastard never told us though.

The interesting part was, that girl used to hate him from the core and even disgusted his presence. Well, she was correct at her place, because she was in love with some other guy and was happy.

We all told him not to trouble her, she was happy in her life, but this bastard didn't give up. He tried to help her and slowly, made a good image of him in her heart. She came on good terms with him.

Sorry to say, but her partner was somewhat like you. He knew how much she used to hate our friend, nevertheless, he refrained her from talking with him."

Jin got confused so asked, "Isn't it normal? I mean I would have done the same…"

The old man interrupted him, "See! This is where you do mistakes. That's why I said that her partner was like you. Our friend stayed beside her quietly whenever she had a fight with him. After she broke the ties with her partner, he didn't show any kind of urgency and let their relation flourish first.

When he realized that she started seeing him as a man, he confessed to her and they die-- lived… happily. So moral of the story, do what my bastard friend did that time, be with her at her every moment of life. Don't get panic if someone approaches her, believe in your capabilities. If she has a strong impression of you on her, then she won't look at any other guy… even if he is better than you by chance."

Jin started to get the meaning. This old man was indeed correct! He behaved like her partner many times. He never thought how she feels about him.

He smiled, "You are right, I will patiently wait for her and try to create a good impression first, though it's a bit difficult. Thank you so much, may I know your name?"

The old man smiled back, "Just treat me as your friend, you can call me old man Zhou."

...

Outside the café, an old man saw the entire scene.

He squinted his eyes when Wang Lufan met Su Yeon. He wondered about Kim Jin's reaction and smirked when he saw Jin going with others and waiting for Su Yeon.

"I won't repeat the mistake again in this life. Poor Tyrant Jun, your dear wife will fall for her past lover again… and I will make sure it will happen no matter what. Where are you hiding? Don't you want your wife back? Hahaha.."
