Chapter 8: 8 Falling

Isabelle didn't want to get caught. Like Warwick said; "Impostor." She searched her wardrobe for something that would aid her escape plan. For a moment, Isabelle couldn't believe she was about to ditch the Princess.

"Well... better safe than sorry."

She started at what was in-front of her, different pairs of maiden clothes. She sighed in frustration when her eyes met her own clothes; a pair of jeans, sneakers and fine looking girl top.

"Huh!"

"I forgot about you."

Her window unlike Apple's was much more close to the ground. She made her jump without having to think about it twice. Below was grass and bushes. She landed firmly on her feet, looking like an amazing spy. Her hair was packed in two pony tails let loose. There were trees ahead and all around. There was no place that looked like a safe exit. She swallowed hard and shook off her fears of what could be in the woods. She had to leave the position that she was because it was too open for anyone from any angle to spot her.

"Okay Isabelle. You can do this.''

She encouraged herself when someone spotted her and yelled.

"You there! Stop!"

She took off not looking in that direction. She was fast, too fast for the guard to catch up with her. She didn't stop running because she still heard footsteps running after her. She was beginning to get tired but she couldn't afford getting caught. Fighting her way through the leaves and thorns and branches and trees, she tripped over a rock, twisting her ankle, but that wasn't all. She wished that that was the worst but now, she was about falling over a cliff.

She screamed so loudly as her body began to introduce its way down. Her hand stretched out to grab the edge, a vine, something. She closed her eyes, preparing her mind. She stopped screaming, feeling the breeze against her back. She opened her eyes once more to get a view of the beautiful sky with the stars dancing in it.

Everything felt in slow motion except one thing.

The crash.

She felt that fast and hard. Her back hit the ground first before her head, causing her to puke out blood from her mouth while her head bled with her eyes closed completely and her body lifeless. Everything once again became still and silent, but not for long.

Foot steps began to break the silence. They were closing in on her one by one. Miraculously, she breathed in deeply like she'd been holding her breath for a long time. Her eyes were on the sky. She could see the sky and the stars. She sat up quickly, breathing! She touched her chest and felt her heart still beating. Most of all, it was beating normally.

Strangely, she felt something sticky on her chest.

BLOOD!

Isabelle was about to think when she noticed the silent sounds closing in on her. She stopped to listen and she heard movements.

Being the athlete that she was, she chose to make a run for it. Once she moved she immediately felt a sharp pain.

"Ugh..." She groaned, touching her head which bled due to the fall and was hurting.

"Why now? Why now?"

She complained, forcing herself to move. The pain from her head back and ankle further increased, making her to cry out in pain. The presence of many things were around her, yet she couldn't see them. She was freaking out.

'I don't know if crying out for help would be a good idea. There's no soul around here.'

She couldn't move anymore. Her body ached everywhere in pain. Most of all, her ankle. Crawling, seemed like a good idea when it became the worst. Her vision became blurry but she could see something...or more like something, someone was looking at her, standing under the light of the moon, surrounded by a fog.

Now, she really wanted to make a run for it. She blinked and the person or the creature was gone. The atmosphere was becoming scary. She looked above her. The cliff was a possible climb away. It wasn't so high. Perhaps her eyes were deceiving her due to the fall. She could make it to the top of only her ankle was at its best state. The chances of her falling was glaring, yet she wanted out of this creeping isolated jungle.

She decided to at least get on her feet and realized that was mission impossible. The voices increased. They seemed to be around her yet invisible. The breeze came alive, circling around her until the leaves joined the rhythm.

"Ah!...", she cried once more, covering her eyes with one arm, supporting her body with another. The voices chanted louder and louder, faster and faster until she could take no more.

"STOP!", she commanded and the air became still. Her voice echoed through the darkness as a tear fell down her cheek and landed on the dry ground. She was scared to her bones and wanted out of there. She just wanted to go home.

At last, she broke down in tears. The sky began to rumble, preparing to join her sudden mood swings. It was as if it was also sympathizing with her.

Sequentially, when the clouds could hold back no more their tears, her chin was raised up by two fingers. Her teary eyes looked up to see who it was, deep and supposedly lost in the jungle under this rainy storm. No sooner than her eyes met the pair of glowing red eyes that the lightening struck.

In an instant, she flew backwards and continued her reverse crawling, her lips parted in fear.

"Get away from me!"

The man with glowing eyes rose to his feet, proceeding towards her. She didn't know how she was moving and she didn't want to know. The only thing she cared about at this point was getting away from him. His glowing eyes turned off, leaving him a silhouette.

"Go away!" She yelled against him.

Her hands suddenly gave way, leaving her to fall. They could carry her no longer, nor could her spine. She was on her back now, trying to push away with her feet and if possible her elbow. It was no use. She laid there. Her eyes bleeding with uncontrollable tears. You couldn't tell if she was crying except from her wailing sounds because the heavy rain washed it away. The ground became wet and muddy water on each step. He drew closer and closer. She knew it. She could feel it. Fear began to consume her that her vision became even more blurry. The rain in her position was making it difficult for her to breath. As fate wanted, she blacked out.
