Chapter 267: Ezrahel

The sound of metal sliding from a sheath reverberated around the void as the bloodied soldier unsheathed his blade. "Call me Ezrahel. That's the name I took when I was a human. Tell me yours before we clash against each other." Ezrahel, the bloodied soldier, asked Soul. "Fien then. I go by two names. This version of me is called Soul, while my original being is Aaron Stone. Now, it's your turn to fight against the one who rules the Kingdom of monsters!" Soul announced, his sword held up, reminiscent of kenjutsu-style swordsmanship.

Soul had no idea what kenjutsu was, so this was pure coincidence. However, without realising it, Soul's swordsmanship improved by being around Ezrahel. Something was going on here, but he didn't notice. Soul rushed towards Ezrahel, only needing to take a single step to execute his plan.

An arena formed around them, seeming to spread along a limitless horizon. That was if you could call blank space an arena. Ezrahel wanted a fair fight, so he'd at least do this in the spirit of a good fight. However, it was already over. Soul teleported behind Ezrahel, attacking him from behind. Ezrahel turned around, striking his sword at Soul's neck. However, Soul was already gone, and a metal blade was firmly planted inside his chest. Soul had feinted him.

"Yeah, so is this bad form, or did I do it right?" Soul asked, a smile on his face. "Oh, you got me good. However, there's just one thing you forgot to do." Ezrahel told Soul, distracting him for just a second. "What's that?" Soul responded, and in that split second after he asked, his head was separated from his shoulders. "You never thought to remove my arms." Ezrahel taunted him, Tsuyukagiri still stuck in his chest.

"Such a mistake would get you killed out in a real battlefield, so I took care of you before you could suffer that fate," Ezrahel explained, turning to face Amana. "Now, what to do with a lady like you? You aren't a human, but a respectable Beastwoman nonetheless. I could enjoy a nice conversation." Ezrahel asked himself, shivering just after saying that. He looked over to his shoulders, seeing a black, slimy hand grabbing onto his shoulder as if it was trying to attach itself to his body. "What the hell?!" He yelled, trying to scrape the hand away. Soul's body lifted up from the group, using Ezrahel as a platform to push himself from.

"You know, you never should underestimate a person. Especially if they become Boundless." A voice boomed out from Soul's headless body. "How?! How can you speak?!" Ezrahel asked him in shocked confusion, watching as Soul's head re-attached itself to his body. "It's called a skill issue, Ezrahel. I just can." Soul taunted him, grabbing him by his neck and violently flinging him into the wall, pulling Tsuyukagiri from his chest as he did for that extra damage.

Ezrahel left a large twenty-meter wide crater in the wall as he fell to the ground, bones shattered. After all, he was a physical entity. He could be injured. "So, if that is the game you want to play, I'll happily join you. However, when I play games, I tend to get competitive." Ezrahel told Soul, his body floating into the air. "You are Boundless, huh? Well, this will be the first time I've fought someone near my calibre. Come at me!" He yelled, two knives appearing in his hand, appearing to be daggers. "Oh, so you're really a close-ranged combatant, huh? Well then, that just makes my job a heck of a lot easier!" Soul yelled back, a copy of Tsuyukagiri appearing in his hand as he rushed towards Ezrahel, using Boundless Telekinesis to keep himself in the air. He was flying.

The pair rushed around the white void, their swords clashing against the backdrop. Sparks flew as the pair continuously sped up, trying to outpace the other. However, Soul was 30% Boundless, while Ezrahel was only at one. The outcome was pretty obvious. Or was it?

Ezrahel had sword skills over Soul, while Soul had pure strength. Now, it was much more of an even fight than you'd think, but that was for one sole reason. Soul wasn't trying to win. Soul was just enjoying himself, deflecting the attacks at a sluggish pace. "Come on, Ezrahel. Show me a better fighting ability than that! All you're doing is trying to stab at me!" Soul taunted Ezrahel, causing him to drop his daggers. He extended his hand outwards, a longsword appearing in his hand, pointed straight forwards through Soul's neck. Soul looked down at the blade before slowly moving backwards, the blade sliding free of his body. This was much to the disgust of Ezrahel. "That is so wrong."

"Oh, there's a lot of things wrong with me, Ezrahel. Watch this." Soul told Ezrahel, a smirk on his face. Soul's body completely fell apart, becoming nothing more than a pile of Corruption on the floor. Ezrahel looked down at him with a confused look on his face, but when the body began to rebuild itself, he was afraid of what he'd have to fight against.

A black skeleton arose from Soul's body, almost as if it was him in his original form. The Monstrosity that had no name crawled out from the Corruption, his bony hands flexing as if it was ready for something. It picked up Tsuyukagiri from the ground and pointed towards Ezrahel. "You. You're the target. Come on, show me a good fight!" He yelled, his irises flaring up with reckless abandon. He was prepared to go at this guy with everything he had, as it was the first time the Monstrosity had been given some control since that incident.

Ezrahel sighed, creating a duplicate of the longsword in his right hand, dual-wielding them as if it was his natural way of fighting. "Alright then! If you want to fight me this bad, come at me! It's time I get serious!"
