Chapter 12: The Wave
"That's a great speech Naruto but the final say is with the Hokage after all. We can only continue this mission if he gives us his permission and the only way he is even going to consider approving it is IF he receives enough compensation to justify the danger level of the mission." Said Kakashi with a look that shut the blond off any arguments he had.
After a few minutes of silence. Where Sakura bandaged Naruto's hand.
"Can you tell me any alternate methods of payment?" asked Tazuna.
Kakashi and Tanzuna then started discussing the pay and other things that they needed to cover. While the miracle-trio were having their discussion.
"Did you mean it? when you said you were going to change the definition of the word shinobi?" asked Sakura.
"I don't know what I will change it to or how, to be honest, but I will do my best" replied Naruto.
"It will be hard," said Sasuke.
Naruto rolled his eyes.
"Of course, it will be hard, we are talking about all of the Shinobi nations after all! but with you guys and a few others by my side, I think...no I KNOW we can do this!" said Naruto.
Which caused his teammates to gain an amused expression.
"I never said I will help you Naruto," said Sasuke with a smile on his face.
"You never said you won't help me either" snarked Naruto grinning.
"Boys," said Sakura rolling her eyes.
Before the trio could get distracted any further. Kakashi clapped getting their attention.
"Team we will be heading to a Yomogita and rest there until we receive further instructions from the Hokage. So pack Up and move out.
"Hai" Answered the trio.
Unknown Location.
"So, Kakashi of the Sharingan might be coming to the wave, huh," said a man sitting on a chair with a large Executioner blade next to him.
"Hi, Zabuza-Sama" answered a figure dressed in Kiri Hunter Nin uniform with a white mask hanging to their side.
They had long straight black hair and a face that made it difficult to identify their gender.
Zabuza was silent for some time.
"Let's watch and see if he comes to the wave. In the meantime continue scare tactics on the bridge builders, Haku" said Zabuza.
" Hai!" said Haku as he disappeared.
Next-Day evening. Team 7
Naruto and Sasuke were sparring in one of the fields with Sakura acting as Judge and casting random genjutsus at them messing with their rhythm, while a small bunch of kids were 'hiding' behind bushes or trees surrounding the clearing they were in.
"Winner: Sasuke!" announced Sakura, as Sasuke ended up holding the blond in a vice grip pinning, said blond to the ground.
"I would have kicked your ass if it wasn't for the no chakra rule" grumbled Naruto.
"Hn"
"There he is!. Let's fight Mr.Hn!!!" Yelled Naruto as he charged at Sasuke completely annoyed.
"Hn," said Sasuke as he dodged and tried to trip the blond who dodged.
"Troublesome," said a voice getting the trio's attention.
"Oh, Hey Shika!" greeted Naruto.
"Hey, let's go your sensei is calling for you guys," said Shikamaru as he started going back.
The trio followed him and returned to the house they were lent.
once they returned they saw their client who was not drinking for once and was completely sober, Kakashi, and the rest of Team 10.
"Good everyone is here," said Kakashi getting their attention and a nod from Asuma.
"We are to continue the mission but we are to finish it by a month so we will be hurrying to the land of the waves and assisting in the construction of the bridge as well as deal with anyone that threatens the safety of the bridge builders or their families or the bridge itself for the duration of this mission. Any questions?" said Kakashi with his game face on.
When no one said anything he relaxed and his eye took on his usual smile.
"Well then let's rest for today and head to the Wave tomorrow".
Two weeks later on the Bridge.
Naruto was on his knees glaring at the person in ice with absolute hatred while Shikamaru, Choji, Sasuke were laying on the ground riddled with ice needles, their status unknown.
Ino and Sakura were engaging the demon brothers and were barely hanging on.
Kakashi and Asuma were engaged with Zabuza and keeping him busy.
(A/N: Before anyone starts raging Zabuza in the anime was WEAK for someone with an S-Rank and enough influence in the BLOOD mist to start the whole coup d'etat. So I am bumping up his power by a LOT)
"I am sorry about this. I dislike hurting others much less killing them or making you suffer." apologized Haku.
"...shut up" whispered Naruto.
"I am sorry, what?"
"I said SHUT UP!" yelled a despair-filled Naruto.
"...I see," said Haku.
"Don't worry you will join them soon" said Haku preparing to put naruto into a false death state just like his comrades.
inside Naruto's mindscape.
"OI! FOX! LEND ME YOUR CHAKRA! I WANT TO KILL HIM!" yelled naruto at a seemingly empty cage.
{And what will I get in return, Spawn?} asked Kurama.
"NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR THIS!" yelled Naruto anger and grief filling his voice and folding his mindscape.
{It is exactly the time for this. So what will I get in return for lending you my chakra?} asked Kurama not minding the flood.
"YOU CAN TAKE CONTROL OF MY BODY AS LONG AS I AM USING YOUR CHAKRA IS THAT ENOUGH?"
Kurama grinned.
