Chapter 3: Three
Neese."
"Neese wake up, open your eyes."
I slowly succumb and I met Eves face. She smiles but I see worry in her eyes.
I try to sit up but their is a sharp pain in my head and my body aches too,
Damn effects.
Eve helps me sit up as she rushes out of the door. I try to make my way to the window seal and just stare at the out side surrounding.
Rosedale is beautiful and quiet in Baltimore. Very predictable place. I fell in love with this town when my aunt had invited me over for a visit and completely moved here after I graduated high school.
I take the glass of water Eve presents me and she helps me get in the shower.
Later on, I put my hair in a ponytail. Yesterday's party was terrible. I cannot believe that Josh saved me from drowning while everyone panicked and some just watched. To make it worse, I looked like a soaked cat with my soaked hair and messed up outfit.
Drinking is always a bad idea.
"I made your more to eat Neese." Eve calls from the kitchen
I couldn't help but admit to myself that Josh had grown more manly over the years from the boy I knew. And he seems more mature. Maybe he was.
I wanted to look good today, so I put on some makeup and wear some tight black jeans with a pink top.
"I made muffins." Eve says as I take a seat at the table.
"Apologize to Josh And at least say thank you for yesterday's heroic rescue." she suddenly says
"Heroic? Now he is a hero after breaking my heart". I say chewing on the delicious muffins she had made.
"Maybe it's time you forgive him and forgive yourself for what happened Neese. Its not like I enjoyed watching you get hurt by him , am just saying you should set yourself free and move on". Eve says
"Well its not that easy dear cousin." I reply
Forgive him
It's easy for her to say.
"I know Neese, but just accept the fact you need to forgive him."
" I love the muffins." I smile
"Stop dodging the conversation, acceptance is a key step in healing."
"I will try."
"Fair enough." Eve replies walking to her bedroom
"What you up to?"
"Off to the grocery store, you should rest".
"Of course not, I wanna come."
"Fine, carry water and don't puke or faint on me, if you do you are dead."

Eve talked more about her experience in New Orleans and how work was for. She talked about her plans with her boyfriend, Mike and how she saw a future with him.
"He is the one Neese, I can guarantee. Am 26 , his definitely the one I just know." she gives a little laugh
"Well how do you truly know?"
"Trust me, when you do meet the one, your heart will guide you and you will know."
Eve pulled over at the local store. We both got off and were heading to the store when I heard Josh call
"Neese wait!"
I turned to see and My heart raced when i saw how handsome, mature and composed Josh appeared.
Damn what's up with exes showing up looking all fineee.
"Josh" I whispers. I feel Eve hold my hand and she doesn't not leave.
Thank goodness for her.
"Hey". he says walking towards us
"How are you Eve." He extends a hand out to her but Eve doesn't take it.
Thank goodness she feels the same as I did toward him
"Am okay Josh, nice seeing you around after four years." Eve replies
"Yeah, been a while, how have you been , you know, life, work."
"Am okay Josh." Eve answers plainly and gives me a kiss on the forehead
"I will be inside." She then leaves us.
"What are you doing here, you following me?" I ask
Josh frowned "Of course not how can out even think that, I came here to grab something for Mrs. Matins from Mr. Brown for her car and saw you when you got of your car." He says
"Okay". I say
"I will be working with Kelvin in remodeling their building, they want to rent it out". He says
The hell he wasn't.
"What do you mean?" I ask
"I am helping out Kelvin with his remodel for their family house as an interior designer". He explains it to me again
"I see and why did he pick you, I know of Ali down town who is good at design.."
"Well, maybe that's for Kelvin to answer."
An couple passes by us and they stop to greet Josh
"Welcome home pretty boy". the hugs Josh and kisses his cheeks.

"You growing more and more handsome, tell us more about New York." The lady adds
I rolled my eyes.
Of course he was.
"I have to go, I came shopping in here to shop in the first place not hear you tell stories". I say and walk to join Eve in the store
"See you around". Josh calls but I don't answer.
