Prologue: The void, the chaos, and knull
In the beginning there was no life in the vast expanses of the void just chaos.
As the chaos was the only thing in the void at the time it had no limit to how big it could grow.
Because of this the void decided to create a limiter on the chaos in the form of knull, a being so powerful that it could make the ever present chaos go into submission.
When knull first came into being it was meant only to preserve the peace of the void and stop the plague that was the chaos from spreading across, but as time grew knull was slowly starting to be corrupted by the very thing it was created to stop.
Due to knull's corruption the void decided that it wouldn't limit the growth of the two entities known as knull and chaos but instead impose rules on them, rules that would serve to bind them to their own power as they grew stronger.
The chaos was given power over the elemental laws, knull power over the void and all things living, the void however was given the power over creation, destruction, and reality as we know it.
Because of the vast power of the 3 constantly clashing against each other they decided to make a treaty, they would work together to create a world and impose laws on it to limit each other as well as themselves, allowing their creations to either fight against each other or work together to make all factions of the universe infinitely more powerful.
The void would go on to create the galaxies and the planets at the cost of most of its life force causing it to go into a weakened state that would be near impossible to recover fully from.
The chaos honoring its part of the treaty created an energy called mana and separated it into different elements and abilities which would be called 'miracles' as they manifested in the denizens of the void's galaxies.
Knull however decided that he would create the life on these worlds and use them to boost his own power, so he created humans, demons, and other races to inhabit these worlds.
However Knull was too arrogant when he created his creatures as he decided that they would have no limiter aside from a smaller life span, causing them to have infinite potential equal to that of Knull himself.
Over time the world prospered, the different factions lived in harmony as the humans used their superior ingenuity to create a society and laws for everyone to live by, the demons who were more magically superior decided to create a magical part of the society that sold various treasures naturally formed by the energy of the universe, the beastmen who were more physically superior created a society of warriors who strove to strike down even the gods with they spears and swords.
And so 3 different paths were created.
The path of the scholar which allowed the person who followed the path to create technology so vastly superior to everything else that it was on par with the magic of the world.
The path of magic in which someone would test their innate abilities and learn how to harness them and create the miracles of magic.
The path of the warrior in which the follower would temper their body to perform physical feats unlike any other.
All paths were equal, and all paths had their weaknesses that the others could exploit, just like rock beats scissors but paper beats rock.
This created a balance in society with no race ever getting stronger, however this all changed when the primordials had a dispute.
See when the society of the world was being created the primordials were recovering from creating the world as we know it and had started to watch over the world to ensure that nothing goes wrong, but over time the primordials started to grow jealous of the others creations.
The void feared the potential of knull's lifeforms and sought to destroy them, chaos wanted to plague voids worlds in destruction due to his very nature, and knull wanted everything to return to emptiness as it was before as he hated seeing his lifelong friends fight.
So a war broke out in the galaxy, in this war chaos and the void were constant against each other while knull stood in between them keeping their skirmishes as harmless as possible.
This was until chaos and the void decided that they had enough of knull getting in their way, so they worked in tandem to seal him away into one of his creations that he hated so much for getting in between their friendship.
To knull the whole situation crushed his heart and he went into a depressed state where his very soul was in a chaotic state, he was forced to watch as his two friends tore each other apart until they were nothing more than fragments of their previous selves.
On that day knull became the only primordial left in existence due to the greed and foolishness of his fellow primordials.
He swore that one day he would return to his previous power and make sure that a situation like this would never happen again.
And so as his soul sailed down into the world below his subconscious desire for power in order to stop a repeat of this situation caused the fragmented souls of his friends to latch onto his own soul and merge into one.
His soul being much more powerful gained full control over all of their powers and domains making him have total control over the entire universe.
Sadly it came too late as his power was now being sealed as he was approaching a mother who was about to go into labor, and so as he approached her stomach being absorbed into the unborn fetus he blacked out for the last time in his long life, finally starting anew.
