Chapter 2: Time To Challenge A Low-grade Dungeon - Part 1

Uriah then proceeded to walk over to the bus with the number 9th on it. When he boarded the bus, he was met with strange glances from those already seated. Everyone except a small lady who he felt resembled a goddess.

The young lady wore a heartwarming smile, and scooted over, indicating that Uriah could sit with her. When sitting next to the lady, Uriah noticed a sweet, fresh fragrance enter his nose. At that moment the lady's beauty had increased exponentially, her smooth dark skin soon became glossy, making her pink twisted shirt and black pants stand out more than before.

"Don't mind them, we're all just as nervous as the next. Oh, and my name's Aliyah, nice to meet you!" Aliyah said, trying her best to calm Uriah down, and find some reason as to why her maybe soon-to-be peers were coming off so strong and intimidating.

"Hello, my name is Uriah, nice to meet you as well Aliyah. Hey, before the bus starts moving, what and where do you think they're taking us?" Uriah replied, trying his best not to stare or stutter, for some reason he thought highly of this girl.

However, personally, as a Frederick, I've never encountered this problem or even had superpowers. It used to be so simple back in the day. You know what, I blame Iwari's first king, whatever his wretched name was, he changed everything with that declaration of war!

Anyways… It took Aliyah a while to think before responding, she truly only had one guess as to where they were going. "Maybe, they're taking us to the low-rank dungeons, where we might encounter some Low-grade beast?"

How calmly Aliyah had spoken of the Low graded beast shocked Uriah and a few others that overheard. Of course, they had all heard of the Low-rank dungeons. They were very common places where those who had defeated Low-grade beasts but couldn't end them completely brought them to earn a large sum of money.

The beast defeated were kept here, and challengers who possessed a hero rank identification card could challenge at their own risk. And the dungeons were ranked according to their beasts' numbers, or however many deaths that dungeon had. Deaths in a dungeon, no one would take responsibility for, because before entering they'd make heroes sign a waiver.

However all of this was common knowledge to those who wished to become heroes, and Uriah knew it well. Due to his brother's teasings when he was little. Now Low-grade beasts were different, no one in their right mind going to the 9th grade would ever dream of even challenging a low-grade beast.

You see this is what makes Aliyah different from the rest, she's dreamed her whole life of being able to take down beasts of any rank. And aspires to one day have killed the highest grade of the beast, a Mythic-Grade Beast.

When noticing that most of the bus had gone quiet and that Uriah was back to practically shaking in his boots, Aliyah asked. "What's the matter, did I say something wrong?"

"Yes!"Uriah shouted, still cowardly. "I don't think I'll be able to beat a Low-grade beast, won't it just eat me up, grind up my bones and spit me out?"

"Well, certainly not with tha- "Everyone, look, check your phones right now! Hero Broadcast is on, and they're talking about my father, Luke Lugwig!" A boy with blond hair, and pale skin, said when showing his phone to everyone.

Uriah was about to further continue his discussion with Aliyah, however, she had already pulled out her phone, and so Uriah followed. When pulling out his phone, Uriah noticed that he'd received a message from Lucas, who stated that he would be running late.

The boy then located his Hero Broadcast app on his phone and began scrolling through it until he found the live function. At this moment, no one on the bus could be heard, only reporters relaying past events about what had befallen Luke Ludwig.

"Luke was an excellent hero, I dare say even one that held power to match the Big Three. However, for today, we bring bad news to all people around the world, because Luke Ludwig is no more." A male reporter said before changing the perspective to a video.

"Luke fell at the hands of a new foe, one that not even the big three have been able to track down. Now, as you can see in the video Mr. Ludwig was caught off guard. But before we can go any further, those under the age of 18 years old, we demand that you close off this site!" The male reporter demanded while slamming his fist on the table.

However all those on the bus never did, they wanted to know what had happened to Mr. Ludwig. Especially Uriah and Ludwig's son Leo, they were the most affected, but not in the same way.

Uriah felt discouraged and further believed he might lose his life in these entrance exams, this effect was mental. Leo at that moment felt rage and sadness. He was shuffling through almost every emotion, then he finally settled on one emotion which came with one very specific goal.

Rage.

"I'll kill them, no matter the cost, no matter what I have to do, my dad's killer will face death by my hands!" He thought over and over until the video on the screen was unblurred and the kids could witness Mr. Ludwig's limbs be removed one by one, blood flying through the air like rain, next with a strange object, the masked figure shoved it through Ludwig's heart, no matter how he desperately pleaded.

Then just like that, the kids had arrived at the entrance exams. And Aliyah had hit the nail right on the head, these teenagers were about to be the first to ever enter a low-grade dungeon at such an age. And the media would never forget what they had done nor what had happened to them.

Some were about to make history, others were about to be left in it...
