Chapter 4: Yamada Anna

Akane walked towards his school leisurely while listening to music on his headphones.
*DING*
He looked at his phone and saw a message from his aunt
"How's everyone?"
Akane smiled wryly seeing his aunt's message. His aunt and uncle were often both out for work and sometimes had to travel for weeks.
Sure when the twins were taken in after their parents died, they lived in poverty for a few years because they had 9 mouths to feed, but they didn't have this problem anymore.
Yet his aunt and uncle still decide to work non-stop even after he paid off the debts they had incurred over the years.
'Being workaholic isn't good for their health. Maybe they should check a psychiatrist?'
If Yuki were to hear Akane's current thoughts, she would roll her eyes and call him shameless. After all, he often slept 4 hours a day, spending all his free time in front of his computer. Thankfully Sora managed to convince him to play some sports back in middle school, otherwise, Akane might have become an overweight shut-in with no social life.
Akane shook his head and told his aunt that everyone was doing fine. He also shamelessly ratted on his cousin and told her that Yuki even got herself a boyfriend and that said boyfriend passed his criteria.
'Barely...' Akane thought as the image of his kouhai appeared in his mind. Now that he thought about it, they were pretty similar: silent type, tall, handsome, long hair... The only difference is that he was slightly more handsome and that their hair and eyes were different. Maybe his cousin that he treated as his sister was a bro-con? Or cous-con in this case?
'Is that even a thing?'
Akane absentmindedly passed by a group of high school girls who stopped in their tracks and gawked at him.
Once he was far enough from them, one of them woke up from her stupor
"Handsome~"
"So tall, do you think he's a model?
"He must be 190cm (6'2) right?"
"Do you think he has a girlfriend?"
"Obviously and she must be as beautiful as Momoi. Normies like us don't have a chance"
"Which school does he go to?"
"He is going to that school" One pink head replied as she looked up from her phone and saw his black jacket while also wondering if he played basketball with his height.
"Which one? Is it famous?"
The girl took a notebook out of nowhere and flipped through it before she shook her head "No. I don't think there is anything particular about it. But I still don't have a lot of data on high school teams, especially the ones that don't have a strong basketball team"
"What's the name of the school?" One of the girls shook her hard and asked expectantly, not caring about anything related to basketball.
"Karasuno High School"

Akane passed by a bakery and noticed a beautiful girl with long blue marine hair, auburn eyes and curves that would put most models to shame. She was in front of the bakery window and was looking at the pastries with a vacant look and drool leaking out of her mouth.
The girl was so engrossed by the pastries that she didn't notice three university students approaching her
"This girl..." Akane rubbed the bridge of his nose and shook his head helplessly.
"Hey, how about yo-" One of the men tried to grab her shoulder when someone suddenly smacked his hand.
He turned around and glared at the person who hit him only to be met with cold piercing red eyes
"Fuck off, she's only 15. Can't you see her high school uniform or are the university chicks too high level for you?"
Akane didn't even let him finish and grabbed the girl by the ear and dragged her away without caring about the three glares on his back. Their little scene got the attention of the adults nearby and the three wouldn't dare to make trouble for them after knowing that she was only 15.
"It hurts, Akane-senpai" The girl whined and tried to free herself, but Akane's grip didn't lighten in the slightest.
He stopped at a corner and took a tissue before he reprimanded her while wiping the drool on her face "Yamada… How many times have I told you to stop daydreaming in front of food?"
"But the anpans looked so good" Yamada complained childishly
"Then buy one"
"I forgot my money at home" Yamada mumbled with a depressed aura around her
"Then move along instead of staying stuck in front of the window! What would you have done if those guys tried to hit on you?"
"I'll hit them in the nuts like you taught me" Yamada made a guts pose and answered cheerfully.
But Akane didn't find it funny. Even if he taught her taekwando for a few months, she was still a novice. After all, she had never taken her training seriously even though she was a popular model and could be attacked by fans or sexual predators.
Those doujinshi he had received in his memories when he was young were traumatic to the young boy. Therefore, growing up, he had made sure that his female friends and family members all had a decent level in self-defense.
Akane looked at her with his stoic face while Yamada made different poses trying to appear cute. Seeing him not falter, the young girl looked down and apologized in a meek tone "Sorry, I won't do it again"
"As long as you understand" Akane sighed and patted her head. He then grabbed her hand and gave her a chocolate bar that he had bought for himself earlier "Here. This isn't anpan, but it's all I have on me"
Yamada smiled widely and her aura shone as she looked at Akane like he was her savior "As expected of senpai, you're the best"
"To you, anyone's the best as long as they give you food. You're husband's gonna have a hard time feeding you" Akane shook his head, grabbed her hand, and started walking. "Come on, we're gonna be late"
"Don't worry, he'll be fine" Yamada walked up to him and made a peace sign with a bright smile on her face making her look even cuter.
"Hmm, I guess he's been feeding you for a few months now" He glanced at her with a knowing look making the girl blush slightly. "Right?"
"Stop teasing me senpai !"
"Yes, yes, Ichikawa Anna-san" (A/N: her crush's first name is Ichikawa)
"SENPAI !"
