Chapter 2: What Am I Gonna Do?!
The cold breeze blew across my hair in the dark and I can't help but smile as I inhale the sweet smell of nature.
But the happiness drains when I remember what will happen tomorrow. What I have always dreaded the most. It was like twenty-one years have passed so quickly. I wonder how I have come to this stage as a full-grown woman.
"Your highness, I think it's time we head back to the Castle"
"I think it's time we did so too," I say unconsciously.
I climbed up on the black horse in front of me and stared again beyond the mountains. Nature seems so pleasant at sight...
Nevertheless, man can be so cruel.
I slapped the back of my horse and it began to run. Following behind is Lucas. My personal guard.
I had always love Lucas since when I was thirteen, but being the King's daughter, I have to maintain a distance from all my maids, servants, and guards. It gave me a nail in the head.
The Palace doors split open and I ran into the vicinity of the Royal Blood.
My Mum who's face looks disturbed, stared at me and My Father, who had his hands crossed boldly across his chest, glared at me.
I ran past them without noticing them. They are not worth it to be noticed.
At least I know that.
I climbed off my horse and turned to look at my parents who walked over to me. My mother looking angry but my Father still had a rude glint of expression in his eyes.
"Where have you been?" My mother, Mandale, asked.
I said nothing. I felt anger boiling profusely inside of her.
"Your mother is talking to you!" My father roared, but I remained silent.
Just as I sensed a sensation arising in me that I will receive a slap soon, I spoke up.
"I went on top of the mountains. I told you, so why still ask?" I asked sarcastically.
Hearing no reply, I walked into the room.
They shouldn't be pathetic. I told them I'd go to the mountains for one full day last night... Had it been Lucas didn't want to stay a bit longer, I wouldn't have come home tonight.
I would have slept on top of the mountain! I don't bloody care for this... This nonsense!
I went into my room in the castle and locked the door.
My life seems like a total mess and it's like they don't even care about it.
My parents don't care about it.
"Gloria please prepare a bath for me" I sent one of my maids immediately I entered the room.
"Yes, your majesty" Gloria, a very elderly woman said and went to prepare a hot bubble bath.
"How was your day my princess?"
I raise my head slowly to look into the eyes of the beautiful maid in front of me. Laurasia.
"On top of the mountains, my friend. How have you been?".
Laurasia walked up to me and bowed deeply.
"We have been preparing for tomorrow, your Highness. We can't wait to see your groom"
I frowned at the hearing of this. I can't wait to see how he looks like but that doesn't mean I will give my heart to him. I turn to Laurasia with a frown that signifies that she should never mention it for the rest of the day nor night because I am tired of it right now.
"Don't say that again" I said.
She said nothing but bowed deeply and apologized with all sincerity of heart.
"I'm sorry my lady" she apologized and I just dismissed her.
Why would she be talking about something that will happen tomorrow and it's not even about her?
I sighed in deep and waited patiently for Gloria to come tell me that she has made the bubble bath.
I don't want any marriage between me and some guy to come into reality nor do I want to see him tomorrow. I don't want to suffer in pain when I leave this Kingdom and everything that I have here.
My thinking was placed to a halt when a knock was heard on the door.
"Come in," I say looking at the door, expecting to see Gloria.
"Lyla dinner is ready" I heard my mother's voice and saw her walk into the room.
"I'm not hungry"
"That is not true young lady. Tomorrow is a big day for you and you are saying you don't want to eat?"
"I do not want to eat" I repeated.
"Lyla, I don't like the way you're behaving right now. Your father and I are trying our best to make you feel comfortable in your own husband's house... "
"Well, I don't want to feel that comfortable. I don't want to feel that thing that every princess feels when they are treated unfairly mother" My Mother stared in astonishment at me because of my reply but that doesn't matter.
What matters is my happiness. They should be thinking of my happiness and not of what I will be feeling in my husband's house. I'm not even ready for this yet why are they forcing it on me?
The door bang closed and I looked up just to see my mum angrily walked out of the room. I didn't tell her to walk out on me, I just wanted to be alone at least till tomorrow comes that I will depart from my own Kingdom, Castle, and Parents.
"My lady, the bubble bath is ready"
"Help me to get to the bedroom"
I stood up from the bed with my body hands and feet and walked up to Gloria who helped to get my dress off and bathed me.
The bathing water is soothing to the soul and fresh in the skin.
Probably because I haven't bathed for the last few hours, which is unlike me.
Bouncing on the bed, I sighed and felt my muscles become tense and hard. My... Ugh! Can't believe I will be calling some, guy, husband.
I wonder if he feels like me and just isn't ready for this marriage. If he isn't ready, I'll make a deal with him.
We keep to the marriage for two years with nothing happening between us and after, we depart. Brilliant!
Unfortunately, I am a Princess and we are to stay together till death.
What am I gonna do?!
