Chapter 2: Off to the Start
After seeing the note, he started to get ready to sleep. He then started to climb into the top bed and drift to sleep.
Somehow he was back at the garden. The guide is there.
"Hope you have been doing well Elijah. It has been a long time since someone had been killed in this world as they aren't as corrupted as your world."
"You're not wrong wuthering humans being corrupted, but I expected them to be not as good."
"It's the morality and mentality of the people. They keep wanting to be ruled over and not deal with all the pains of independent personalities."
"I'm so that's why I'm here, because of my independence and power."
"You're correct, that is only possible of someone that isn't in doubt and worry."
An alarm has rung and had to wake up, it was quite unexpected considering that there wasn't really a clock there last night. And when he got up he saw someone sitting close to the bottom bunkbed.
The person seems asleep.
>[could it be my roommate? If he is, I hope he's doing well]
He quietly got down and headed to the bathroom to change. Afterwards he went to the main area and saw the some of the others doing their own things, especially since it was around 8 in the morning.
He immediately spotted a box of string and started to rummage through it and had started to make an embroidered picture to remember the places he knew.
He started to make it in rectangles and detailed most of the stuff in the room. He then noticed that the other had started to trickle into the room and other areas.
"Hey, Elijah was it, how are you?" he looked up to see Madison.
"Good, though what are you doing up this early?"
"Last I checked it was 10, also the drawing you were making is interesting."
>[I guess it has been a long 5 hours]
"Thank you, it is a place I remember the most, my home."
>[she seems thoroughly interested in what I'm doing]
She left because of how uncomfortable she seemed about the situation.
"Well, I hope you finish so that I can see the finished product."
Around 12:00-1:00 the staff had the food ready for everyone. It became crowded and minutes passed and they went to their seats. Elijah finally put down the supplies down and went to get some for him self.
There sat the lonely boxed lunch and he went to get it. He looked around and there sat Sophie with some people, they are Blake and someone else he doesn't know.
He went over there and started to listen to them talking. They started to include him considering that he wasn't been here for much.
"Hey, Elijah, how was your first day here? I'm sure it hasn't been easy fitting in at all with all the things there are and with all the people."
Blake, the open and nice person of the group. She is part bird and part humanoid, she sometimes has to repeat what she says because it's sometimes a little difficult to understand her.
"Considering that I haven't been here for long, I can't really say what I think of this place."
The other person introduced themselves.
"since we haven't met yet, my name is Li. I hope you do well here."
"My name is Elijah, and quick question what does everyone do here, because I don't really know what to do here other than doing crafts."
"It really depends,as everyone has their own thing. There are some of us are sent to high families as servants, some become adults and live our own lives,and others, we don't know."
"hmm, that's very much different from where I'm from."
After they continued talking, everyone was called to the hallways. There were people that look like high officials as they walk past down each person.
Elijah is holding his breath not knowing what will happen and they seemed to gloss over him and look over at the others. After all that they were told to wait in the waiting room.
Time passed and they took some people and listed these people.

Near the end was his name he was shocked because He doesn't know what they do in this world. Suddenly he's pushed into a vehicle with others and slowly brought to a rather obscure building that's very large.
He remembered that he wrote a story that involved a lot of royals, commoners, children who are trained killers, and that the main character has met all of these people a few weeks earlier.
What the main character is doing is training and he's ahead of the others because he is quick about it, and he's about to meet him. He's nervous because he knows that the character is powerful and ruthless about everything.
As they pull up to the building he sees the rather familiar face. It's the teen from the earth that he remembers.
>[what is he doing here? I thought that he was just a random person, did I do this to myself?]
When they pulled up, he eventually saw his face.
>[it is the same person, dammit. Why did I write him like this, he's so full of himself.]
All the other things happened because he wrote in the book. But he didn't think that it would actually happen, it was just fiction after all. Everything that was real in his world is written over with his imagination.
He didn't want to have this happen to himself or others. It was just unfortunate that he didn't finish the end of the book.
Everyone got out of the vehicle and the teen noticed an old friend, Conan. He was giving the child shoulder to everyone else except Conan. As to be expected, Elijah wrote him that way.
All of them are shoved indoors to be fully inspected and checked before training them. After all that, they put them into their rooms and got the equipment ready.
They put all of them with groups depending on what was observed in the facility. The people are separated in four groups; The observer/learner, the listener, the obedient, and the helper.
Two others, Conan, and Elijah were put into a group. Li, Hana, Mayumi and one other were put into a group, and the others are in the helper or the obedient.
>[I don't belong here, but if I don't use the knowledge that I have, I will die in the end.]
He wouldn't have much time before he won't be as capable as he is now.
His group is then taken to a lab and told that they're going to be pushed to unlock some of their personal power. He already knows what their powers are but not his.
Once he unlocks a power, he can't change what he gets as that is based on the individual.
They are then put into a inakusar* to get their body to think that they're somewhere in the other side, then put them back into the body once the mind has activated the ability. It's really painless when taken out, but when coming back is like a strong sting for a few minutes.
Everyone else got up soon after they got back and figured out what their powers were, Elijah took longer to get up and tried to activate his.
Elijah was then tested on a little more to see what it was then.
>[I stopped time somehow, is this my powers? I hoped it be similar to that but not exactly that.]
He then got up and moved some stuff and sat back down before time continued. The staff in the room noticed and was a little confused and thought it was impossibly difficult to even get time travel.

Some of the scientists eventually put him with the others and Elijah tried to do it again but it took quite some time to activate the ability. He took the liberty of throwing a spear at the target and grabbed a sword before time resuming.
The spear landed on the target (at the middle of the bullseye and edge) everyone there heard it and saw him in a different spot. Scientists quick to taking notes of what they had just seen, they scheduled to have him practice it even more as this really valuable.
Conan then activated his ability and proceeded to punch the punching bag. It went flying and the stuffing fell out.
>[huh, it's a strength enhancement. Not unusual, but not exactly weird.]
The other two then started to practice to, one's speed, the other is an invisibility user. After practice had ended, the scientists held him in the training room and had him practice a little more to ask him who how long it took.
At this point, he began to start lying about some of the things because he had already started being able to travel to the past for a few seconds. All of them had written what he had said and let him go to the rest of the group to rest up as Elijah "didn't" improve to much.
During dinner, He sees the teen and Conan sitting together; Li, Hana, and one other person sitting by one another. He went to sit by himself and eat as he doesn't have the time to eat and talking with the others.
>[I have to focus on getting the pendant of the high family. They're the only ones that might know of the pendants mirror ability.]
He is unable to outright tell the others of his world and the story because they'll think he's mentally insane. He finished his food and headed to his room and started to write down what he remembers of the book.
>[Let's see, Kai's story started with his strict family.

They died when he was 15.
Somehow got taken to the building for his mentality and smarts...]
The time he finished, it was late into the night and with the notes, he rewinded until he reached the evening. He proceeded to put the notes in a drawer and went to sleep due to the fatigue of the time traveling and so many things happening.
When he woke up, it was daylight outside and he was late. He quickly changed and got to the rest of the group to start expanding their abilities in the inakusar.
They all got out and they slowly got to the training room as they were sore from all of the training. Eventually he went ahead an used his ability to get in front of the training room.
He went in and got to the punching bag, paused time, and proceeded to punch the hell out. Time resumed and the punching bag flew and hit a wall.
>[Why did I ever think it was a good idea to write the story, it makes no sense, I shouldn't belong here in this world. I should've never imagined this world.
All of this would have never happened if I was never targeted and killed. Could've avoided this situation if I was never involved.]
He then walked off and headed to the shooting range where he saw Kai. He shot the bullets at the center and most of the holes are near the middle and center.
He wanted to try but didn't because it would interfere directly with a protagonist and the story.
"Hey new boy, try and beat that."
"I'd try, but I'm not trained to do that at all."
"Just try, you never know if you're actually good or not if you haven't done it before." He said in a slight tone of anger.
Elijah picked a gun up and paused, quickly shot a few bullets and stopped. All of the bullets hit near the center but one straight in the center.
Kai looked at him with an impressed but suspicious look in his eyes. Elijah just walks passed him and said.
"It's gonna be difficult to beat that even if I had tried."

Kai was then left behind and Elijah walked to the rest of the group and continued practicing there until it ended.
Kai was angry that he was brushed of like that but refrained from attacking because he's one of the top 5 students, so he had to set an example for the others.
It was time for dinner and Kai and Conan sat by Elijah and asked.
"Why are you so not apprehensive of me as the others, you are the only other person not afraid."
"Why should I be? If you were very scary, you would be trained in all of the areas, but you're not. You are in one and only trained in one."
"Then why did you do that in the shooting range, because clearly you said you weren't trained and yet you're better than me."
"I'm not any better than you because we eventually have to do horrible things. But I know that things won't exactly go your way, it never has, at least with your family."
"...." Kai looked at him with even more of an angered look.
Elijah's doing this because he needs Kai to be in this state for someone else to trigger him to. Then a nearby person bumped into him and Kai got up and glared at the person then moved to a different location.
He has changed the story slightly without knowing. He then continued to then finish eating and then went to outside the building. Then he paused time and ran to find the high family.
>[I'll get to them soon, their maids should be in the market today and get through with them.]
The maids are near the home of the high family and Elijah is watching them heading there.
"I can't shake off this feeling that we're being followed but whenever I look around, nobody suspicious is around."
"I also have that feeling but it's probably just us being nervous."
"I just hope we don't get injured while we're this close to the mansion."
"We'll be fine, there are guards near the entrance and it's mostly spacious road here. They would have to trek up a long road."
The maid is still rather nervous until they reached the mansion. When they opened up the door, he ran in with a somewhat tired mind.
He ran until he found a resting spot in the mansion. The room is not visited as much but the room is recently cleaned. He rested for two minutes and heard footsteps headed to the room.
He proceeded to hide behind the door, the person opened the door and he snuck out of there. The person looked fancier than the other maids/butlers and the person seemed to not notice him.
>[I hope I can find a family member to help me with getting back.]
He passed a few people and found the main room. He found a hall and check if anyone sees him, and continued time and went into the room.
He sees a fancy person sitting on a chair with maids and butlers doing their things. The fancy person introduced themselves and asked.
"I'm Rubah, what do you need of me stranger?" he said that with a stern face.
"May I speak to you in private, I need to get through quick I don't have much time."
"Fine, but only the Guards will stay here."
"I need to return to my world, I have been transported to this world under some circumstances and I need to return back."
Rubah realized that this is what he saw in the pendant and that he was this person.
"Guards, leave this is something personal. I know what it might have taken a lot of time and energy to get here and that you are in a rush. But if you return to the other world, you will still have the side effects from this world.
I have seen this happen before, it happened to you when you were younger. You were lucky that first time that I found you first that time, this is the second time that you have gone here. I saw that you were writing a story of this world and never was able to get to you."
"Do you know what happened when I first got here? I was never told that I was injured or killed before."
"I'm not sure exactly as the visions were blurry, but I-"
"I- I saw that you 'died' after about 5 months but that is when I immediately was able to find you and send you back.
This time it was too late. I know that if you return this time you will not return to your original body, but you will repeat the whole cycle of birth an rebirth."
"Then what will happen to this world and all that happened here, would it also reset to?"
"No, it will continue onward and you will come back here again. I suggest you don't go because it will become even more difficult each time."
>[Of course it would be like this, I wrote it to be more difficult but not expecting it like this.]
"Then what shall I do if I stay here in this world? I'm assuming that I would be forced to go back to the facility over night."
"If you have an ability, you can get back it time to there, as you wouldn't get reprimanded too harshly. Or we can get you back to your world and you have to suffer through this for another two decades or so. It's best if you choose the former option."
>[basically suffer 2 decades or live as a secret agent. You aren't giving me many options here. If I were to go back I would be killed again.]
"What do you think would happen if I were killed here. would I be sent back here or would I be sent to a different world."
"I wouldn't know, I would assume that you would be sent to a different world and even we don't know."
>[damn, so I wouldn't return here. I hope that I eventually return here.]
"I'm going to return to my world, even if I end up with still having my powers there, I will do what I can to avoid going back here."
"Bu-"
"I know I probably end up back here and that it will be even more difficult to get back to this palace. There will be a greater difference in age with the both of us. So please send me back."
"I will take your request, I just hope that you remember this world."
"I will try my best to, Rubah."
>[I most likely won't be able to]
"Guards! Get me the pendant, he's going back to his world."
"Yes sir."
A couple of minutes passed and they got back with the pendant.
"ah I almost forgot, the amount of time you spend in your world will be about half of that time one in here."
When he was transported to that world, he was turned to swirls and pixels and went to the pendant.
He came back to him being a four year old. Immediately tested to see if his power worked, some seconds passed and it happened. All of the things have stopped, but if he were to tell others of this he will be questioned.
And if he was able to show others, scientists will test him to no end.
>[I'm gonna be unable to do anything about this, unless I use it to save myself and find the killer.]
Time resumed and he saw what he was drawing, it was some of the places he went to in the other world. He went to try and write that he experienced, but the handwriting was somewhat messy.
He got through with most of it until it was his "bedtime", he faked going to bed and continued writing so that he doesn't forget details.
When he woke up, he saw that his parents are still the same, working early in the morning at home. Even though it has been a few days for him, no time passed here.
"Can I go eat something in the fridge?"
"Not now, we will eat a little later."
Mother finished her work about ten minutes later and started to cook lunch for them.
In the other world, Rubah is keeping track of what Elijah is doing and making sure that he doesn't die again.
The operatives got to his room.
"Do you know the whereabouts of this child, He went missing two days ago."
"No and why would I deal with children, they're annoying and bratty. All I know is that your facility has gotta be really bad at keeping your kids obedience in order to lose a child."
One of the ops showed slight anger towards him and both of them began to leave.
"Hope you have good luck finding him some time soon."
The doors closed and Rubah began to look into the pendant again. It shows Elijah getting ready for something.

He's getting ready to get to school and walked to the bus. His mother looks with worrying face as he has been acting different than he usually does.
A lot of what Elijah did before that day, he has been acting differently. As the bus is driving away, she sees that he has been silent the whole time. He was looking at Mother and looked to see if some of his old friends were here.
----------
We got to the school and everyone was given a paper to show where we go for classes. I started heading to my class and I see some of my old friends heading to the same class as me.
I wonder if that really was all a dream, it feels like it but it's best if I still write what I remember.
"Hi, what's your name?"
That voice is very familiar.
"I'm Elijah, what's yours?"
"I'm Jun, what class do you have?"
"Oh um, it might be the same one as you."

[1] Inakusar- a chamber that scans the mental health and tears apart the mind to forcibly open an ability. It's usually used for an individual as if two people used it at the same time, they end up with similar abilities.
