-----------------------------------

Thinking about all that made Max's head hurt a little bit since that meant that he would have to work even harder to get rid of all those troubles. But that also gave him a sense of excitement in his life. He thought that after eliminating the gang and catching Carl using surprise, he would have an easy life from that point, and it made him feel a little hurt inside. But it turned out that everything is getting more challenging, and that was what Max liked since he got bored easily if there was no threat to his life. Dangers could push him hard enough to improve himself in this world.

"Ok, uncle Carl. Since I come to like you, and you know I will learn magic starting today, I will give you the honor to be my teacher. Of course, you would have to stay in that chair until everything is over, and if you tried anything funny, you could say goodbye to your third leg right there. I did not touch that thing earlier because I wanted to let you have some dignity, at least. Do you understand?" Max said with a wicked smile on his face as he looked at Carl's private parts while pointing with his knife towards Carl's third leg. He did not hurt that part of Carl yet because he was waiting for a chance to use that thing to threaten him. Every man would back down once they knew that their manhood was on the line, and Carl was no different. Only a few that fought for a cause and were not afraid of death anymore could handle a threat like that.

Carl's expression changed, and he tried to close his legs unconsciously after hearing Max's words, but he was tied to the chair and could not move at all. Carl's hope of survival kept going down and down, and he knew that his death would come sooner or later.

Carl wished that he could kill himself, but he was actually a coward inside that he did not manage to pull such an act. If he wanted to get rid of everything, he should have bitten his tongue and killed himself already. Max still needed Carl's knowledge, and Max would never do to Carl what the others experienced. Max was the one that cut the others' tongues before killing them, but he would slow down the bleeding so that they could die slowly and watch their death with their eyes. But Carl was a critical asset right now, and Max did not do the same to him since he needed that poisonous tongue of Carl.

In the end, Carl could only agree to his nephew's request, or he would have to endure more pain if he did not listen. And just like that, Max's training session and his first steps in magic started on that day.

He did not practice any kind of magic in the first week because he wanted to know more about this magic and spent the whole week reading about the history of magic and the magic world. While he was doing that, he did not forget to make Carl explain every little thing; happening in the magic world right now, from the different factions to the smallest business. Max wanted to know every little detail that could make his plans fail in the future and the dangers that he might face if he was not careful. Plus, magic was not only a neat thing. If it got used in the wrong way, it could be deadly for him. And that was why Max decided to spend more time understanding everything before starting the actual practice after realizing that one week was not enough to know everything about history and magic.

Meanwhile, in the Lestrange Manor,

"Corvus, where is your brother? He should have returned by now. Did something happened?" Matilda Lestrange said as she raised the spoon to her mouth to drink the soup before turning to her son. Matilda was an old lady that believed in pureblood more than anything else. The Lestrange family was always like that, and they rarely married anyone outside the few families they were close to in the magical world. Even when talking about her missing son, her expression did not change at all. She had grandchildren by now, and she was not afraid of losing her sons since the family line would continue without them. "Is he playing around at a time like this? Did not the dark lord summon him directly because he wanted to send him to do something for him?"

Corvus did not answer his mother's question at first because he was actually quite happy these days after Carl disappeared. He thought Carl would use this chance to make things difficult for him here in Britain, but Carl vanished the next day. The most wonderful thing about this matter was that no one knew where Carl went after leaving France and that alone made his day since he would not have to go personally to search for him. That idiot even erased his traces so that no one could follow him. Corvus even wished that Carl got strangled by the hooker he disappeared with and not to return again.

"I don't know what is on his mind, mother. I clearly send him the letter myself, and unless his brain is dead, he should know how important the words in the letter were. I checked on everyone in France, and no one knew where he went after leaving," Corvus said with a smile on his face as he looked at his mother before turning to look at his wife, Abelia Lestrange. Corvus did not really like this woman, but she was from the Rosier family, another pure-blood family. "Where are the documents that I gave you this morning, Abelia?"

"I put them on your desk before coming here," Abelia said with an expressionless look on her face. Corvus was not the only one that got forced to do this marriage. At least, Corvus got to enjoy his time playing with Abelia and fucking her here and there. She even suffered to give Corvus those two boys and barely survived after giving birth. But she was also someone who believed in pure-blood superiority and knew that she would be the lady of the house one day after Matilda died. "Goopy."

After shouting this name, a house-elf appeared from nowhere and looked at Abelia with fear in his eyes. The house-elf had bruises everywhere, and his clothes were nothing good at all, but it seemed that no one of the five sitting around the table cared about the house elf's health state in the first place and continued to eat as if nothing happened. "Go get the documents on the desk. Don't let anything fall down, or you know what will happen to you. Do you understand?"

Abelia's eyes said everything at the moment since the smile on her face was something rarely seen. It seemed that Abelia did not care about humans and focused most of her attention on the house elves to show them who their masters were. Abelia was one of the most powerful opponents, standing against the appeal against the house elfs' slavery.

Of course, the poor elf could not do anything to this master of his, and he disappeared in the next second to appear again after only two seconds with some documents in his hand. The tiny elf did not wait and handed those things to Abelia because he was afraid that it would get him into trouble if he held them for long.

As for Abelia, she seemed satisfied after seeing the house elf in front of her tremble from fear while handing the documents she asked for back to her. That fear coming from that elf made her realize that her work was producing some results. She even intended to sell this information to the other pureblood families in order to control their servants. But since it was not the right time to waste on those house-elves around here, she turned to Corvus and handed everything to him.

"Here, mother. Have a look. Those documents would tell you everything Carl did when he was in France. He wasted his time there doing nothing, and no one knew where he went after backing up his things. That idiot even erased the magic traces that could help us find him," Corvus said while shaking his head while handing everything to his mother. He knew that his mother doubted him after Carl's disappearance. Everyone could see how those two did not like each other. But their mother was a firm believer in The family motto "Corvus oculum corvi non eruit.", which in English means "a crow will not pull out the eye of another crow.". Although she did not say anything, Corvus was sure that his mother thought that he was the one behind Carl's disappearance. Although he wished to do that, Corvus was not behind it this time, and his mother had to know that.

After seeing everything with her own eyes, Matilda could only disregard this matter for now. If Corvus did not hurt Carl, that meant that Carl was only playing around and ignoring his duties. The only thing that concerned her was the dark lord's anger. "Then, go to the dark lord and do this task until your brother is back. We can punish him after he returns later for playing around. Oh, by the way, what are you going to do with that half-blood of yours?"

Corvus's expression changed after hearing his mother's words, but he was not the only one. Abelia's expression was even worse than him because the second thing she hated after the house-elves were not the muggles but half-blood. The reason behind her beliefs was that the existence of the half-blood meant there was a week pure-blood behind them. And she did not like the fact that her husband was one of those who were weak enough to ignore their beliefs. She wanted nothing more than killing that boy that was her sons' half-brother.
