-----------------------------------

"What do you want me to do with him, mother? He doesn't have our family name anymore. Plus, he might come in handy one day and help his brothers when something goes wrong when we are not here anymore," Corvus said with a complicated expression on his face after seeing Abelia's expression. Although he didn't have any feelings for his son that he left in the muggle world, that did not mean that Corvus would want to kill him because of something he did.

"What do you mean by that, you idiot? We are from the Lestrange family. Did you forget what that means? We are the family with the purest blood in this world. That boy's existence showed how week you are and dishonored our family. You are the one at fault for doing something like that. How could you dishonor our family by bringing such a hideous thing to our world?" Matilda shouted at Corvus after hearing his words. Corvus had promised her that he would take off that boy in the past, but he was finding excuses for himself at the moment. "If you don't do anything, don't blame me for cleaning the shit you made."

"It is of no use, alright? I searched for him years ago, and I could not find him anywhere. The orphanage he was supposed to go to told me that he got transferred after only a week there. I searched for all the orphanages that could have taken him, but no one knew where he is," Corvus said with a more complicated expression on his face as he looked at his mother. He never told anyone that he would go search for his son after what happened. And everyone got to know at this moment that Corvus might have some feeling for that son. That alone made Abelia's expression more and more hideous, and she swore in her heart that she would kill that boy sooner or later.

"You went and searched for him, huh? Fine, I will find him using my own way," Matilda said with a mocking expression on her face as she stood up and left the other four alone. Her two sons were quite disappointing, and her only hope was her two grandchildren. She wanted them to grow up and take that burden from her. She hoped that she could live to see that day since she did not like how Corvus was heading the family. And, of course, she had no hopes for her other son that was good for nothing.

After Matilda left, no one said anything else the whole dinner. Abelia did not even look at Corvus after finishing her plate. She just stood up and took her two sons in her hands, leaving Corvus alone on the dining table.

The next day, Hogwarts,

"So you are here again, Tom? It is always good to see you," Armando Dippet said as he looked at Tom Riddle with a smile on his face. He was always proud of Tom and considered him the best student he had in this school during his time as headmaster. That was why he was so close to the man in front of him.

"It's great to see you again, headmaster," Tom Riddle said with a simple mocking smile on his face as he looked at the old man in front of him. This man's idiocy and simple thinking made everything very easy for him to do whatever he wanted in Hogwarts. He could always do what he wanted because the headmaster of this school was Dippet, someone easy to fool. If the headmaster were the annoying Dumbledore that doubted him from the start and tried to control his life, Tom would never manage to pull something like that. "I came here today to ask you about the matter we discussed the other day."

"Oh, that. I don't know how to tell you this, Tom. Dumbledore is making things difficult for me here in Hogwarts. I don't know what he did exactly, but he managed to pull most of the board of governors to his side, and they agreed to his request. I am still doing whatever I can to support you here, but the things don't look good," Armando Dippet said those words while shaking his head. He did not like Dumbledore as well, and if the time returned to the time when he accepted Dumbledore to be a professor in this school, he would not do it again. After defeating his lover that terrorized the world, Dumbledore thought he was the only one representing the greater good. That was what Dippet thought, and it was the thing that was getting on his nerves all those years. "I am sorry, Tom. But you have to wait some more time to get this done. I know that I would never find an excellent professor for this school to teach DADA like you."

Tom's expression changed for a moment before turning back to normal again as he smiled at Dippot. He had been trying to become a teacher in this school for years now, but he always failed because of Dumbledore's interference that fucked everything up at the last moment. He did not know why Dumbledore was always after his head. Dumbledore was from a pure-blood family and a half-blood like him, and he should understand why he was doing all this. "Don't worry, headmaster. I can wait. Well then, I don't want to take more of your time, so I will leave and come to visit you another day."

"Oh, leaving so soon. It's not been that long before you came here," Dippet said those words with a sad expression. He did not want to let his best student leave without anything like that, but what could he do when Dumbledore had to butt in everything? "Fine, I will let you leave this time, but you have to promise to come and visit me another day."

"See you another day, headmaster," Tom Riddle said with a smile before turning away to leave the headmaster's office. But how could the world turn good for him? On his way out, Tom ended up meeting the only person in this world that he was not sure that he could defeat, the man that stood against every little plan he made. "Professor Dumbledore!!!"

"Tom," Dumbledore greeted Tom while nodding his head without saying anything else as he continued on his way to the headmaster's office, leaving Tom behind. According to the recent deaths he investigated, every little evidence pointed at Tom, and that thing made Dumbledore feel a little uneasy around Tom. Before long, he disappeared from Tom's sight and entered Dippet's office.

As for Tom, he did not say anything either. But his expression said something different. It was not as good as the one he had when he came to this school. The reason was that Dumbledore's little action earlier, which made Tom's heart tremble a little. Anyone would have missed it, but Tom was not the same as the others. Dumbledore released his magic earlier to show Tom that he could not do anything to him, even after using that dark magic that split his soul. "That day would come sooner or later..." That was the only thing that Tom could say to console himself after seeing how powerful Dumbledore was.

Inside the headmaster's office,

"What do you want, Albus?" Dippet said those words with an annoyed expression on his face. He did not want to see Dumbledore because of what he did behind his back with the board of governors.

"Is Tom still insisting on working as a professor in this school?" Dumbledore mumbled those words with a small voice, but Dippet heard them, and his expression worsened. But it seemed as if Dumbledore did not care because he had some kind of backup plan. "The board of governors seems to be unsatisfied with what you have done to the school. You may consider retiring now when you are during your best time."

"Are you threatening me, Dumbledore?" Dippet asked with a threatening gaze as he looked at Dumbledore while releasing some of his magic. Dumbledore might be powerful, but that did not mean that Dippet was weak. The man did not outlive two hundred years for nothing. And if Dumbledore had the talent, Dippet had the time. Noone could say who would win between those two for sure, but Dippet had the higher chances of coming off this fight victorious.

"No one is threatening you, Armando. You know it yourself. You are too old, and your judgment is not as clear as it was in the past. You should clearly think of my words," Dumbledore said those words before turning around to leave the office, leaving Dippet alone in the office to think of what he said. Dumbledore wanted to save the children of this school, and he would never allow Tom or anyone else to use this school as their playground.

As for Dippet, he returned to his seat with a complicated expression on his face. In the end, he could only sigh and open his mouth to complain about his old age with a few words. "Am I that old? I am sure of that, or else no one would dare to talk back to me like that. It seems that I am no good anymore, but I would not leave it the way those people want me. I will show them who is Armando Dippet before leaving and make them regret it a little."

In the Innocent Home Orphanage,

"Aren't you even tempted after all this time? Are you going to read the history and this nonsense the whole time?" Carl started to lose patience after a whole month in that chair. Although Max told him that he needed Carl to be his teacher, Max was quite careful about this magic and did not hurry up to practice it. But Max continued to read more and more history and magic books that explained the origin of magic and the risks involved. Max was not an expert like Carl when it came to magic. And if he was not careful, Carl might use this chance to teach him something wrong that could kill him without noticing that. That was always Max's nature that flew in his blood. Unless he were certain of what he would do and calculated the probabilities required for that, he would never do the task.
