Chapter 19: For Good.

""Quick? Don't humor me kid. You're about fifty years to-"

Muscular stops his sentence short. Something in his mind tells him to stop blabbing his big mouth and stay silent.

His face is still smug, but his thoughts contradict his face. He was nowhere arrogant here right now. He feels small. In front of that midget.

Muscular was by no means small. He was over two meters tall and big enough to rival the size of a car.

But Rui, makes him feel small. Through his eyes, it was like Rui was towering over him, growing bigger and bigger while himself was shrinking, getting smaller and smaller. Soon, all he could focus on was Rui; the surrounding was blackened.

In the end, Muscular realized he was looking up at Rui instead of looking down like he usually does with people.

"Are you done?"

Rui's question brought him out of his stupor. The blackened background disappeared, but the giant Rui was still there.

Muscular realized that he was on his knees before Rui.

'Such pressure!'

The law of conversation energy states that energy can neither be created or destroyed – only converted from one form to another. In this case, this law can be applied as well.

Rui's annoyance and anger has been converted into Muscular's fear.

Rui grabbed Muscular by his collar and brought to his face.

"I don't like how all of you villains think you're above me. Frankly, its infuriating. I didn't know how I could have lasted this long. But its no longer the case."

Like a discarded ragdoll, Rui tossed Muscular away into the corner of the room and escaped the vicinity.

"Damn it! He's gone now!" Tomura exclaimed.

Muscular had felt fear for the first time in maybe decades. It felt like he was being suffocated by Rui, like all sides of him was crushed.

There were times where he enjoyed a good challenge and yearned for it. A handful of heroes had given him a good challenge. Those were the times he felt euphoric and on a fighter's high.

But this time was different. He didn't want it. He was being completely overwhelmed even before he knew it. Rui was someone he didn't want face again if possible.

————————————

"What did I say Tomura? My, my you have gotten quite disobedient nowadays."

All For One had berated Tomura for his decision to pursue Rui despite his clear warning.

"I'm sorry, I thought he was within reach. I realized my mistake now. But we have the alliance with Shie Hassaikai still." Tomura tried to play down his mistake in front of the one person who matters most to him.

"Do you think this pact will continue once the leader realizes you no longer have Rui? If he finds out, you may as well have lost that alliance."

Tomura stared at the floor to completely absorb what his master had said. It was true. In the meeting, Kai Chisaki had visibly flinched at the mere mention of the Hero Hunter.

Imagine his reaction when he told Kai about his acquirement.

"Then he must not find out. I'll keep him a secret."

"Good. And as I said, I will personally deal with Rui myself. Forget about him."

The tv static stopped and Tomura was now in a silent room.

The silence allowed him to recollect his thoughts.

What went wrong?

Why didn't I listen?

Why didn't I…

————————————

Rui Hachimura went back to sleeping atop rooftops now. He didn't find them uncomfortable, but not comfortable either. It was kind of just a floor for him.

Rui told himself that he shouldn't allow anyone to place above him anymore. That was one of the lessons drilled into his mind by Garou.

'Imagine what that old man would have said. Get your shit together Rui!'

Garou would have absolutely roasted him to death. Literally, not like verbally. Garou would have set fire to the whole city to prove him a point.

Rui let his guard down while in this world. It may not have been as dangerous as it was back home, but there was still tricky and mischievous people among the shadows in this world. These people were the ones to silently rule over the unknowing ones, even if they are weaker than them.

Recalling back to one particular lesson etched in his mind, he closed his eyes and focused his thoughts on it.

"Rui, you must be absolute. No disciple of mine must fall victim to the lower rung of hierarchy. Your words must be absolute, and so should your actions."

Absolute. His actions are absolute, because his wants are absolute.

He wants a world where the citizens don't rely on heroes, the scum of the earth. He wants one where citizens are strong and independent, where heroes don't get worshipped.

That sentiment is shared with Tomura and his organization, but he also mustn't be placed anywhere lower than the absolute top.

Because his wants are absolute, his actions are absolute.

And the first absolute action is the destruction of both heroes and villains alike.

————————————

It was Sunday, one of the days where high school is not the focus for the students. However, in hero schools, their students stay back as per the new rules.

That does not mean they weren't allowed to go out. There were a few locations where it was given the green for the heroes-in-training to go to. These locations were the mall, the zoo, and the theatre.

These places were given the okay because these were normal public places. Therefore, with the rise in crime, there were extra heroes in place in case of a mass attack.

In the malls were the hero classes of U.A. Both 1-A and 1-B had agreed to go out together. Both classes had students who had run ins with the Hero Hunter, which somehow had brought the classes closer.

Itsuka Kendo was enjoying her meal but there was one thing that clouded her mind.

"What's wrong? Are you sick? I knew we shouldn't have gone out with the yucky 1-A students!"

"Oh? Nothing wrong. And stop your obsession with them!"

"Are you sure Kendo? You seem kind of sick." Mina Ashido worried asked.

The whole class heard the loud voice Mina used and turned to Kendo, curious to know about her as well.

She contemplated telling them since it was classified information, but their classes were her closest confidants. In the end, she relented.

"Don't tell anybody else this but, my brother had a run in with the Hero Hunter, and I don't think he's that bad."
