Chapter 10: Music box
Horses, maids, servants, knights and wagons were lined on the gate of the Ouroboros palace. A large horde of people were there to send off the prince for the journey. We were all set for our trip since the morning. Ten of the Ouroboros knights were there too, who were supposed to guard us. Among all these things, we saw Lee on a black horse commanding his troops. Soon, a few of the knights brought horses for me, Sabir, and Skyler that we were supposed to ride on.
Before leaving, Lee approached our trio and advised us to hold the leash tight or we'll fall. In response to that. I asked him.
"Hey Lee, why don't we use teleportation as usual"
"Hmm, that's a quite nice question. Well Kai, we can't use teleportation because some regions are restricted to use magic, so no interference could happen with the area"
I nodded at Lee in response to his answer and looked at Skyler and Sabir and told them to get ready as well.
"Open the gates! Knights march forward," Lee commanded his troops
Lee was such a man, people of his domain looked at him with great respect, all his soldiers admired him. I talked with myself while traveling to Devsplid.
I looked at Lee while thinking about it and noticed something odd "huh why does he look so down today"
"Hey Lee, are you sad? Is something bothering you? You can talk to me about it." I approached Lee to check on him as he looked sad to me.
"Well, my majesty, there's not anything I'm sad about. You shouldn't worry about it. Well, there is something I'm sad about. You know I always take my music band with me, but I can't take them to Devsplid, so without music I feel like everything is so slow."
"Ahh! You music maniac!!! I thought you were depressed ahh!! Wait!" I yelled at him but stopped after remembering something.
"You know I've something for you! Wanna see it, tadaaa!" I took something out of his pocket and showed it to him.
"What's that my lord, and how it's gonna help me," Lee asked with a curious look on his face.
"Hehe, Lee it's a mobile phone, it was in my pocket when I got teleported here, but you can have it. You can take it anywhere with you and you can play music on it. But there's a problem with it you need to charge it with electricity and to search for new music you need the internet."
"Wow! My lord, it's the best present someone can get me. Thank you so much I hope I don't cry" Lee got so happy that he jumped with excitement after listening to me and he was so moved that he had tears of joy in his eyes.
"Charge? Internet? Well, let's see if I can find a way to charge it!" Lee scratched his chin in worry
"Hey! You are not worried about the internet!" I was a bit shocked after watching Lee just being stressed after the charger.
"Huh, internet? Why would I need to worry about the internet when we have established internet towers?" He gave me a look after hearing me yell.
"Well, we have an internet connection here because some of the continent engineers figured out some magic items need something else, other than magic to operate and they invented the internet, it's available, but it's of no use, except for use in magic items"
"Hmm, now I get it, this place is not like other places I saw in shows these people are a bit advanced. "
It was already nighttime, and we were still traveling, after a while, we stopped to camp for the night.
"Hey Kai, how long we need to travel, I'm tired I feel like these horses don't like me. I think I should sleep before I need to travel again," Sabir nagged to me as a kid who's annoyed by travelling.
"Ha-ha, Sabir I don't know that too. I'll ask Lee about it and maybe your horse knows that you're a wolf and is scared of you! By the way, have you seen Skylar, She is nowhere to be seen."
"Ah, damn that horse!! Seems like I need to suffer with him alone," Sabir yelled
Oh, Skyler! she's in the kitchens, she's a foodie you can't keep food away from her." Sabir replied while yawning, he looked tired to me so I thought of leaving him alone so he could get some rest.
"Well, take care of her, I guess I should go and talk to Lee"
I saw Lee talking with his commanders while having a cup of tea. I approached him to ask him about the remaining trip.
"Hey Lee, How much do we need to travel more? Is it too much more to travel?"
"Well, not much one of our scouts told me that we're very close to the "Forest of Strangers" so we'll take a few of knights with us and we will drop you at the entrance."
"Wait! Wait! What do you mean by you'll drop us!!! Are you not coming with us!"
"If I have to say, well no, both of us will take different paths You, Sabir and Skyler will get into Devsplid through the forest. It's like a process of identification for first-timers. Sorry, it's the fastest way to get you in or it'll take around a year for verification."
"I see, so how would we know if we've reached Devsplid or not," I asked Lee out of caution.
"When you'll reach at the end, you'll know it yourself, but now you should rest, we'll be moving In half an hour,"
After thirty minutes, I heard Lee commanding his troops to get ready. It was time for them to leave. We were again riding their horses and were continuing on our journey in the middle of the night.
After traveling for some time, I and the squad arrived at the entrance of "Forest of Strangers."
"Ahh, finally we're here in the "Forest of Strangers." Lee sighed
"Kai, so before you go in, keep this one thing in mind, don't turn back if someone calls you alright this forest is flooded with mysterious beings and magic, so be cautious and try to be together. At the end of the forest, I'll be there waiting for you."
I, Sabir, and Skyler headed into the forest after our little talk with Lee.
the forest was foggy and chilly and as we were moving closer to the forest, our scent was vanishing and as we stepped into the forest, our bodies completely disappeared into the forest and it looked like nobody was ever there...
