Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Breakthrough in the Body
For the next week or so, Eric continued with the routine he had previously decided on and didn't really do much except for cultivating the three paths of cultivation.
His mornings were filled with exercising and running, followed by refining his body; the afternoons were calm yet focused periods of time devoted to cultivating his soul; and finally the late nights were reserved for strengthening his mind.
During this time period of about a week, Liam and Lily visited him a few times, but most of those times he was busy cultivating. When he wasn't cultivating, he was either eating his mother's delicious cooking, relaxing in the warm water of his bath tub, or dozing off in his bed after a hard day of work.
It was a monotone and boring routine, but Eric didn't see a problem with that at all. He was seeing improvement in his cultivation; he felt like he was at the middle of the 2nd Layer of the Spirit Apprentice Realm in Soul Cultivation and in the other two he was almost about to break through to the 1st Layer.
'Soon I will find out if it really is impossible to cultivate all the paths at once or not. I assume I will start feeling quite a bit of pressure on myself once I breakthrough to the 1st Layer of my Body and Mind as well. That will mark the official start of my journey as a cultivator of all three paths.' Eric thought to himself as he went to bed and fell asleep almost right after.
He knew the next day would be a very big day in his life.

It was about 10 in the morning and Eric had finished taking a bath. This was one of the most relaxing periods of time for him in the day. A nice breakfast followed by a serene, calming bath was something he could never get enough of.
Once he was out of the bath, he looked at himself in the mirror. Eric could see that his skin had started looking a bit brighter and was less pale. Along with that, he noticed that his body had started to take shape; even if he didn't have bulging muscles yet, his body was pretty firm and healthy.
'Today is the day I break through to the Flesh Refining Realm. Let's do this!' he looked at himself in the mirror and gave himself a little motivational prep talk before he got to cultivating.
He sat on his bed in a meditative posture and began absorbing Qi in his body.
About half an hour later, Eric started feeling like his body had reached its maximum capacity and a weird sensation took over his entire body. The sensation he felt at this moment was something he wouldn't ever forget. He was about to breakthrough!
Since Eric knew that he was going to breakthrough, he took a moment to ready his body, after which he proceeded to absorb a rather large amount of Qi into his flesh.
As soon as he did this, his body felt like it was being torn apart from the inside; there was severe pain throughout Eric's entire body, but he endured it and didn't lose his concentration. This pain, however, wasn't long lasting; as after a couple moments, the pain completely vanished and was replaced by a feeling of strength, which rushed inside Eric's entire body.
His body emitted a faint glow and felt full of energy; his flesh now seemed as if it was as hard and firm as metal and his entire body became stronger. Eric quickly got up and started looking at himself in the mirror.
His physical features had become more defined; and this didn't only apply to his muscles as even his facial structure had improved a bit. He was a pretty decent looking kid before, but now he looked like a handsome and refined young man.
His appearance, his physical strength and speed and even the presence he emitted had slightly changed. He felt power surging through his body which he never felt before.
Eric was very glad with these changes in his body and checked the Scam System's notifications, which congratulated him about this accomplishment of his.
After confirming this, Eric sat down and stabilized his body. His body felt stronger, but at the same time a little bit imbalanced and restless; similar to the state of his Qi after breaking through.
Once he had stabilized himself and was back to his normal sate, he decided to open his profile to see if it had any changes or not.
Eric's profile updated and he checked it for the change in his cultivation level for the body.

He was now a cultivator of two out of the three paths of cultivation.
'Two done, one left to go.' Eric thought to himself as he went downstairs to announce this news of his breakthrough to his parents.
He climbed down the stairs in a couple of seconds and quickly found his mother. Now that he had broken through in the path of the body, his speed had increased by quite a bit.
Eric approached his mother and told her that he had broken through in the path of the body as well. As expected, his mother was very proud of him and proceeded to congratulate him and talk about how unimaginable his talent is, a little bit too much.
After calming his mom down a bit, he wiped off some sweat from his forehead and went back to his room to take a short rest. He had a feeling that his father's reaction would be way wilder than this.
In the evening, when Blake Tyler got home, Eric told him the good news as well. It took him double the time and effort to calm his father down before he was able to go back to his own room and take a rest break.
Even though he had a large increase in strength after breaking through, he still felt a bit tired and drained. In the current state that he was in, attempting to breakthrough in the path of the mind in a couple hours would be way harder; and therefore resting to regain some composure and energy would be the best choice for him at the moment.
After taking an hour long nap, Eric felt refreshed and ready for another breakthrough.
'Tonight, I shall defy common sense, go against the norm; and become a cultivator of all three paths!' he said to himself as he readied his mind for this momentous occasion.
