Chapter 31: Chapter 31

"Without Samuels intuition, I have to ask you, are you good or bad?" Inquired Helen, wondering how Eli viewed himself.

Eli carefully thought over his answer then answered, "There's nothing wrong with being bad depending on what your definition of bad is. It's boring being good all the time, you need to have a little fun and break the rules. Do you view yourself as good or bad?"

"As you said, bad based on what your definition of bad is. I like to have a lot of fun in ways others might frown upon. And my whole life people have labeled me as bad so I never tried to do anything good to please them. From an early age I learned I would rather be the villainess than the heroine," Helen admitted recalling how frustrated she would get in her younger days of certain characters who had a life of rainbows and skittles being praised for being a hero while the villain who lived a troubled life was ridiculed.

She learned early on life wasn't fair for the mistreated.

"Sometimes I don't know whether you scare or amaze me, Helen. It's a funny feeling," Eli said finding it humorous the more he got to know her the more confused he became. But he also liked it. She wasn't easy to predict.

"I think it's the second option. You should get used to the feeling."

"How so? Weren't you in a rush to run away from me once the two dates were over? Do tell me if you are now admitted you like me."

He caught her mistake.

Helen smiled but on the inside, she was screaming at the fact he couldn't just brush past what she said.

"Have you made the decision to be with me, Helen?" Pushed Eli for a response just to piss her off but it was the smirk growing on his face which did the job. She didn't like seeing him enjoy getting the best of her.

"Just for that, today counts as one of those three dates. You have one more date remaining to impress me," She started feeling as though she just pulled one over him but the man just kept smirking. Didn't he hear what she just said? Why on earth did he still appear to be happy?" "You realize you're down to one date right?"

"It doesn't change my plans. You would've been my mine after the second date from the start," He smoothly answered appearing more alluring than ever.

His words plus intense gaze continued to steer up something inside of her. Oh, how she loved being in the presence of a seductive man. But there were warning sounds in her mind telling her to proceed with caution.

If she had an angel and a demon on both sides of her shoulder, Helen would bet all her money they would most likely be in agreement to take the risk.

"Cocky aren't we?" She repeated his words from earlier.

"Confident," Eli snickered entertained with how their words were always thrown back at each other.

'I see why too much confidence is dangerous now,' Helen thought shifting her gaze away from Eli. The man was placing her in a trance the more she looked at him but that was supposed to be her thing. The universe had sent Helen a match of herself most likely to humble her.

'Well played mother nature,' She added in her mind now peering down at her customers and workers.

"Why fight the growing desires when I can just satisfy your wishes?"

Helen almost chuckled at his statement. "I like to be a challenge. You can't have what you want right away. Mr. King," She added Mr. King taking the moment to irritate the man.

Helen returned her gaze to Eli whose nose flared with anger like a dragon. She couldn't help wondering how much did Eli hate his father.

"What's the matter, Mr. King?" She poked even further wanting to see if he would explode.

Eli clicked his tongue, refraining from making a comment about what she called him. Instead, he gave her another warning. "You're seriously playing with fire and with me, you'll feel the burn."

"Is that so?" She playfully answered. It didn't seem like much of a threat to her. More like an open invitation to keep poking at Eli.

Helen reached forward to grab the collar of Eli's shirt to bring him closer. Having him right where she wanted him, she attempted to do something she's been itching to do all this while. Positioning her head right she whispered against his lips, "You're only tempting me."

Right before she could kiss Eli there was a loud scream which echoed throughout the restaurant interrupting the moment.

Pulling back from Eli and looking down to where the scream came from, Helen noticed Julie and Jennifer covering Isabelle's mouth. Jennifer looked embarrassed from all the stares while Julie couldn't help laughing.

Helen sighed mentally cursing her friends for ruining the moment. Isabelle waved apologetically to Helen before placing her head down on the table in shame.

Marc quickly took control of the situation ensuring everyone there was no problem.

"I'm gonna kill you guys," Helen mouthed to the duo who was still looking at her. She motioned her hands to show how she would strangle them.

Helen then awkwardly smiled at Eli who she previously almost kissed. "I'm so sorry about that."

She watched as he sat back in his chair with a look of disappointment.

"Believe me, not as sorry as I am," He replied a bit disappointed she couldn't finish what she started. It could happen again once it was just the two of them away from prying thirsty eyes. "I don't think your friend will be looking me in the eye anytime soon after her surprising performance just now."

"Most definitely not."

Time flew by fast for the grand opening with many customers coming and going throughout the day. Someone had caught Eli up on the second floor, took a picture, and sent it to social media, which caused the restaurant to trend later in the day but unfortunately right before closing. They weren't able to take in the new curious people who came to check out the place after it started to trend.

Helen's employees had a busy day and she didn't have any intention to keep them more than she intended to just to grab extra cash. If people were curious as they seemed, they would just come tomorrow.

The restaurant was now empty with the exception of her employees, friends, and Eli. Surprisingly, he stayed the entire time since he arrived and even offered to give her a ride home. She felt bad for keeping him here so long but Eli reassured her he was here out of his own free will.

She still wasn't sure if he was naturally this nice or she had him whipped.

"I have to go to the gym tomorrow. Thanks to you I probably can't fit into the outfit I had planned for tomorrow," A bloated Julie said to Helen whilst she rubbed her stomach. "I'll eat my dessert tomorrow," She held up a tiny essence bag.

"No one forced you to eat too much," Jennifer reminded Julie. She warned Julie not to eat too much. You never feel it while you're stuffing your face but the moment you finish your last bite you can feel the added weight. "It's going to skip your ass and go straight into your thighs."

"No!" Julie internally screamed at the thought. If she was going to gain weight it should at least go into her ass.

"I'm going to have my driver drop this one home along the way. I don't want to hear her crying about weight so I'll leave once she gets inside. Congratulations on your opening, it was surprisingly good," Jennifer gave Helen a pat on the back for a job well done.

Helen squinted her eyes at the comment of the restaurant being surprisingly good. Why do they keep saying that? However, with Jennifer, she'll let it slide. She was too tired to hear what Jennifer meant by that.

"Thank you for coming girls," Helen thanked the girls. They had all been really supportive throughout this entire journey.

"Group hug!" Isabelle exclaimed pulling everyone against each other.

"I'm gonna barf," Said Julie making them all take a step back.

"Gross," Jennifer commented in disgust.

"Please exit my building," Helen informed the girls, pointing to the door. She loved them but she had enough for the day.

"Later," Jennifer bid goodbye taking a crying Julie along with her.

With only Helen and Isabelle remaining, Isabelle drew closer to Helen to say, "I hope I didn't embarrass myself with the scream."

"You did. Go home and sulk about it," Helen bluntly responded making Isabelle want to do nothing more than crawl in a hole and die.

"Goodbye," Isabelle wept as she dragged her feet through the door.
