Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Alchemists Test (2)
This test was easy incredibly easy for me that is, for these guys it's almost unfair, I guess my stupid wishes helped out after all. Anyway some questions pertained to mixing techniques and different types of cauldrons and the expiration date of some pills, if your curious.
I was literally flying through test papers without even so much as looking back if they were correct, they were already correct and I had to answer over thirty papers. Anyway this seems to rile up some of the other testees as I kept getting angry glares, but they went back to doing their test.
Looking around I could see the absolute despair and some of the faces of the other testees. Like seriously one was even outright crying. So I continued working when I came across a couple questions meant to confuse us.
They were the ones asking us which plants are compatible in certain pills and sure these pills, are in the books but they aren't really seen are used in some beginner pills. But I was able to easily asnwer it, due to my own research on the fauna of this world. I could only guess that the ingredients maybe beginner ones, but the recipe they are apart of is probably of a higher grade.
No one who doesn't have access to those ingredients wouldn't be answer these questions, unless they had connections to a person who have such information. It's kinda cheating in a way, though I guess they aren't to be answered but only to confuse us, since they are so far apart from the other questions.
Finishing up the final question I placed down my brush and stood before walking down to hand in my test paper. During this all the men who were taking their test suddenly stopped and looked at me with scowls on their faces.
I just ignored them and went to hand in my papers nowhere one of the three elders asked me something "Youngsters may this elder here review your papers." Hearing this the others taking the test couldn't help but smirk, it seemed they wanted me publicly humiliated, typical cultivation world.
I simply bowed while cupping my fist and gave them permission, it seems I've been bowing alot lately, but whatever.
Looking over my papers the first elder stoic face immediately morphed into shock, I've never in my life seen a man mouth widen so much, he looked like a one piece character. He then frantically shift through all the papers his mouth somehow widening even more as shock plastered onto his face.
"Elder Zuang are you okay?" Asked the old man who was in library with me, the Elder know known as Zuang gave the other old man the papers. "Here Elder Gi." The old man know known as Gi read through them and had the same reaction.
"T-t-this is!" He said in shock as he went through them again and again and again before he passed them to the next elder known as Guan. Who had a similar reaction, soon the other testees looked at each other confused.
"Youngster you have passed the written test, head this way." Said Elder Zuang as he pointed towards a door. Hearing this many of the other testees nearly tumbled over in shock, as fifteen year old passed a hurdle they tried to pass for many years and they couldn't say I was cheat as all the Elders here are peak Martial Master.
As I entered the room I saw what looked to be a waiting room, I took a seat and was aboug to take out my gameboy but Elder Gi walked in.
"Youngster I have a question." Says the old man "What is it if i may ask Elder?"
"Questions, 18, 34, 67, 76, 89 and 118. How did you answer them? This elder here isn't accusing you of cheating. I'm just curious." Said the old man with a bit of wonder in his voice.
"Well it's simple during the one month I didn't show up here I gathered a number of basic plants and I did my own research, one of the subjects of my research was the compatibility between different ingredients."
Hearing this elder was stunned. "So that's why all your answers are so detailed, it was because you had personal experience!" I nodded.
"This elder is satisfied you may wait here for the beginning of the practical exam." Said elder as he bowed to me.
"Did, did he just bow to me?!"
If a cultivator of a higher level and age bows to one with a lower level that means that cultivator sees that person as an equal! Si Lan and Fa Ken I can understand but me does he respect me that much?
