Chapter 16: New Sword and Lots of Treasure.

Once the Mana stew that Charmy had finished they all felt they had at least gained more mana than when they entered. Mordred felt like she had drunk an entire pub full of coffee with how much mana she felt coursing through her body.

She cleared her voice as she turned to everyone.

"Alright, time to move out."

"Right. Let's go, Asta."

Yuno's grimoire flipped open as he created a wind chariot with Asta and Noelle with him. Asta's eyes shinned as he looked at the ground.

"Awesome, I am actually flying."

Yuno looked at him with a deadpan look on his face.

"No, I am. I am just letting you hop along."

Tick marks appeared on Asta's face as he got in Yuno's face.

"You irritating pretty boy. Fight me."

Yuno merely opened a hole in the wind chariot which caused Asta to fall. Mordred watched how Asta yelled in fear before Yuno caught him with a grin.

"I win."

Noelle cleared her voice as she looked at Asta.

"Hey dumb shrimp, are you alright?"

Asta just jumped back up.

"I AM N-"

Before he finished Yuno sped off making Asta take a mouthful of mist. Mordred shook her head as they left through one of the passages.

"Good luck. Alright, let's head off."

Atlas flew onto her shoulder as she jumped on Clarent to fly. Charmy made a cloud of wool, while Klause made a steel flying chariot for him and Mimosa. He pushed his glasses up as he looked at the Guide Post Mimosa made.

"Let us be off. We need to arrive at the treasure chamber before any more Diamond Mages arrive."

Mordred nodded.

"The first smart thing you said."

"HOW DARE YOU! I AM A NOBLE!"

"And I am a King."

Mimosa chuckled a little.

"Now, now, Sir Klause. We need to be off don't we."

He grit his teeth as he flew off.

"Fine. I will let this slide."

Mordred chuckled as they flew.

'He is so funny to mess with.'

As his chariot flew Mordred and Charmy stayed close to him as he and Mimosa had the map. Mordred could have led them through her Mana Vision, but it was better to just follow the map.

As they flew, Klause turned to Mordred as he had not seen her grimoire.

"I heard you were the other 4 Left Grimorie holder besides Yuno. Where is it?"

Mordred shrugged.

"Oh, I learned how to hide my grimoire from prying eyes. Here it is."

She raised her hand and materialized her grimoire. She tossed it over to Klause who in a panic caught it. He looked at the cover and had to say it was a truly beautiful grimoire.

"Why did you just hand it to me?"

Mordred shrugged.

"You are annoying, but at the very least I can read a person. You are not the kind of person to try to steal someone's grimoire. Plus, I can always do this."

The grimoire vanished from Klause's hands and reappeared in Mordred's. Mimosa was even curious as being able to recall your grimoire if it was taken would be a useful skill to learn.

"Do you think you can teach me how to do that?"

Mordred shrugged.

"I don't see why not. So, a grimoire is just solid magic, but for me, it is just second nature. I just, dissipate the magic in the grimoire and then make it reappear when I want."

She demonstrated it a few times as she did not have a real explanation for it. Minosa, Klause, and even Charmy were interested in this technique. A way to disarm a mage was to take his grimoire as most powerful spells required it to function.

They did not have the time to practice it right now, but it was something to remember when they had free time. After that small conversation, they just followed Mimosa's directions to the treasure chamber as they were short on time.

They even sped up to get there faster, but as they were delving deep Mordred felt another magic presence. She squinted her eyes as this one had as much magic as a Captain. It was moving slowly toward them, so she informed everyone else.

"Heads up, there is another magic signature. It is not the ones that Yuno, Asta, and Noelle were sent against."

Klause squinted his eyes.

"How strong?"

"About as strong as a Magic Knight Captain."

That made him and Mimosa look at each other with some worry.

"Sir."

He nodded.

"Yes. I believe that would be one of thier Shining Generals. They are the Diamond Kingdom's equivalent to Magic Knight Captains. They are really going all out to get the treasure from us."

Mordred was not worried.

"Just leave him to me."

Klause felt she was being overconfident. Shining Generals and Magic Knight Captains were not found everywhere.

"That is not just any foe. That is someone that can equal a Magic Knight Captain. Can you take on someone like that?"

Mordred nodded.

"Of course, I can."

Charmy backed that up.

"She is not lying. Captain Yami has said it himself that she is at his level."

Hearing that made Klause happy he did not piss her off more. He did not admit it as she was giving him a arrogant look.

"Alright. I will leave him to you. Mimosa, how much father."

She looked at her guidepost and pointed to the right.

"Take this right and go straight. We will be directly in front of the treasure chamber."

Klause, Mordred, and Charmy did just as she said and found themselves in front of a pair of giant doors. They were the doors that blocked them from the actual treasure chamber. Mimosa looked at the guidepost and pointed at the giant doors

"The treasure will be right in there. We just have to get through the giant door."

Klause landed his steel chariot while Mordred jumped off Clarent. Charmy did the same so they walked toward the door. Klause pushed up his glasses as he looked at the giant doors."

"How do we open them?"

Atlas flew off Mordred's shoulder and flew toward the door. They all looked at the infant Behemoth who bit the door. Klause squinted his eyes at the little lion.

"Please get your pet out of t-"

Before he could finish he watched how the magic door began to shrink as Atlas consumed the magic in the door. They were all left speechless except for Mordred who already knew that he ate a lot. Especially things full of mana as it sped up his growth.

Once the door was fully eaten he flipped onto his back and rubbed his belly. He was even snoring as he had consumed a lot of magic today. Mordred smiled and picked him up off the floor.

"Well come on then. The treasure is ours to claim."

She walked straight into the treasure chamber which was chock full of gold, and magical artifacts. Klause, Chary, and Mimosa walked in and they were instantly drawn to the hoard of treasure. Mimosa walked toward a red cape that glittered like jewels.

"How gorgeous."

Charmy picked up a golden cooking pot that drew her attention.

"You think I can keep this? I can cook so many things with this magic pot thing."

Mordred nodded.

"We Black Bulls have first pick. The Wizard King said it himself."

Klause was shocked to hear that.

"He what?'

Mordred laughed a little.

"Did he not mention that? When I was meeting with him he told promised Captain Yami first pick."

Klause covered his face with his hand.

'Why did he not offer that to Captain Vagence?"

While he did that

Mordred looked around and saw that everything here had at least some magic in it.

"Now this is a treasure."

Mimosa walked over with her new cape.

"You said the Magic Item that the Wizard King gave you can store all this."

She nodded.

"It should."

She reached into her pocket and pulled it out. She aimed it at a massive pile of treasure and channeled some of her mana into it. It fully drew in the pile of gold like a Black Hole which proved that it was a rare magic item.

"Come on, we need to hurry."

Klause shook his head as he decided to not question the Wizard King.

"Right. Use your magic to gather all the treasure quickly."

"On it La."

Charmy was the best fit for the job as she filled the chamber with cotton sheep that gathered the treasure into piles that Mordred stored away. Mimosa even helped with her plant magic to speed things along and after a few minutes, the chamber was clear of any treasure.

Well almost clear as there was a weird scroll in Charmy's hands.

"Hey, Mordred. This does not want to go into the thing."

"Mind if I look at it."

Charmy handed it to Mordred who took it in her hands. Mordred could see that it was full of mana, but when she opened it she just saw some weird runes. Her green eyes began to glow as she tried to see if she could activate it or something.

However, no matter what she did was doing any good.

"Weird. Hey, 4 eyes. You try."

"It's Klause."

She tossed him the scroll which he opened as well. Just like Mordred, it had no reaction to him, Mimosa, or Charmy. Mordred handed the scroll to Charmy to keep who placed it on one of her cotton sheep.

"I think that is everything. Give me a second."

Mordred spread out her Mana Vision to the whole chamber looking for even a runaway gold coin. She did not find that, but she did find something odd not in the chamber. It was behind one of the walls where there was no mana. Normally she could see everything through her Mana Vision, but not in there.

'Interesting.'

She raised her hand and sent Arondight and Galatine at the wall which smashed it to dust. Everyone looked at her as she walked toward the hole she just made. Klause, Charmy, and Mimosa followed her to see what was behind the wall. When they looked into the hole they saw a Black Sword that reminded Mordred and Charmy of Asta's.

"Hey, Mordred. Isn't that?"

Mordred nodded as she walked toward it. She grabbed the handle and pulled it out of the ground.

"It is an Anti-Magic sword, just like Asta's."

The moment she touched the weapon it began to draw in her mana in waves. However, she could offset it with her Mana Core which canceled out the drain. Klause was curious.

"Anti Magic?"

Mordred nodded.

"It cancels out the magic that it touches. This one does the same, but it feels different.'

She held it in both hands and swung it vertically at full force. She swung it with so much force that she cracked the ground under her, but that did not answer her question. It was draining her magic, but not canceling it so she gave it what it wanted.

She sent a large amount of her mana into it which caused it to begin to crackle with red lightning. She swung it at the hole she had just made which sent a red lightning slash at the wall.

"So that is how it works. It cancels magic out, but at the same time it can store it to attack."

Charmy looked at the sword with a curious look on her face..

"So, are you going to keep it?"

Mordred materialized her grimoire as she decided to give it a try. Her grimoire sent out tendrils of magic and began to draw in the sword which vanished inside. The magic book began to tremble a bit before the grimoire flipped open to a new page.

Black Demon Runes appeared before the sword emerged from her grimoire. The new sword was primarily black, but it now was partially red and gold. Mordred took it into her hands and found that the edge had gotten sharper.

Before it was blunt, but now it was a proper killing weapon.

"I guess the answer is yes. I guess I can let Asta borrow it from time to time, but that is beside the point. Remember that Shining General guy? He is outside."

That made them all jump to their feet as they left the chamber where they found the Demon Dweller's sword in. They left the treasure chamber and waiting for them was the Shining General. Around him were diamond spikes as he looked at them.

"Where is the treasure?"

Mordred handed Atlas to Charmy.

"Don't eat him."

"I was joking."

Mordred did not believe that, but she stepped forward and grabbed Clarent with her left hand. Arondight, Excalibut and Galatine circled around her as she looked at the Diamond Mage.

"The treasure is with me."

The mage held his hand up.

"Hand it over and I will give you a quick death."

Mordred rolled her eyes as her helmet covered her face.

"No."

"Than die."

(Cliffhanger.)
